Hello Yuva, As you can have pointed out correctly that 2 curve coming out from every density value but to move up and down is decided by the temperature. for deciding the gravity disc and flow rate of purifier we should know the Density of fuel oil which we are using(this can be known from Bunker report) then we should know the correct temperature of purification which is normally 90-96 degree for heavy fuel oil and depending upon that we should move up and down in the curve I hope you understand. No. Suppose, The specific gravity of oil: 0.944 at 50 °C Treating temperature: 98°C Feed rate: 1250 L / h The rising curve will be drawn till 50 °C and then the declining curve will be drawn from 50 °C till 98 °C. Straight-line will be drawn from 98 °C to 100 °C. Then the two points (the point at 100 °C & 1250 L / h feed rate point) will be joined together to get the size of the gravity disc.
Very good explanation sir thnq

Why to use lowering curve in case 1 and raising curve in case 2.
hi sir, there are two cures cmng out for every density value.which one we should use for our reference

Sir, u mean to say that lower temp limit is used for lower curve and vice veresa?
No.
Suppose,
The specific gravity of oil: 0.944 at 50 °C
Treating temperature: 98°C
Feed rate: 1250 L / h
The rising curve will be drawn till 50 °C and then the declining curve will be drawn from 50 °C till 98 °C. Straight-line will be drawn from 98 °C to 100 °C.
Then the two points (the point at 100 °C & 1250 L / h feed rate point) will be joined together to get the size of the gravity disc.
explain the rising and lowering curve to find intersection of sp. gravity and treating oil temp ?
why in one case upper curve and in another case lower curve?
Sir small gravity disc means small in diameter?
How to know the specific gravity at 70deg cel!??
