For some reason I've never taken that much interest in the Cox plate. It's always been the Caulfield and Melbourne Cup. After watching that and seeing the atmosphere at Moonee Valley I can now understand why it is such a popular race. I was on RW. I thought he was a big chance with a decent ride. Turned out it was a peach of a ride. Most people seem to have forgotten when RW ran a credible 4th in the Turnbull he was only 75 percent fit. Even in this race he was only 93 to 95 percent fit and still won.
93% how to judge that, mate that horse was at his top for the Coz Plate he was 100% maybe 101% ready to win.
Mate the WFA CHAMPIONSHIP OF AUSTRALASIA you say you were not interested, go back and look at the horses that have won it, only the best horses win it, the 2 Cups are handicap so horses get advantaged but this is the best horses with the same weights unless you are a mare, or 3 yr old and look at the handful of 3 yr Olds that have won it .

I disagree that the best horses win this race. Sometimes the best horses don’t handle Moonie Valley’s surface and/or the tight track.

I agree. King Colorado never interfered with Duais or Mr Brightside. It was Fangirl who copped the backwash of KC weakening.
The winner won another one in Japan days ago, followed the paths of Fariry King Prawn and Bullish Luck.
J-Mac said this horse would be suited to the Cox Plate. He was right again.
Barely. Got a big fine for excessive whip at the end but either way it was a great finish.
It was an excellent finish. He had to. First to the line is all that matters. And doing this one wide all race. What a peach of finish. Well done James.

Surprised me. I get off them when they put in one bad run. He was annihilated by Fangirl in Sydney and I thought there were no excuses. I was wr wr wr. I was wrong.

Gold trip is advantageous when the distance is long.

It was a big turn-around from the Turnbull Stakes. RW was well beaten by a lot of these horses in his previous run.

The camera favours no horse, the camera is 90° to 2fixed points in the centre of the straight. theoretically 90° to the running rail.
If I remember rightly, there was a race at Caulfield, 2021???..
was a photo finish, a dead heat official,
when the pic was posted.. it clearly showed a gap.
of course when the connections were shown, the judges pic, it was a dead heat, what the punter gets is a pic, taken by a potato.
The Judges photo is a Seperate camera, in the stand, ?? an it's a 31st Century Camera, borrowed from NASA ..

backed the Alligator, thought he was travelling as well as anything coming into the straight, last 40m the killer. Geez Duais was unlucky Lew, she probably wins by half a length if she gets out but thats what you get at the Valley hey, always some tough luck stories in the straight! Fangirl pretty stiff also but when you try to pinch inside runs you always run the risk of traffic jams.
I was on Alligator too. Thought Gold Trip put in a respectable run heading to the Cup.

Rather have seen Mr Brightside win He's the best horse in Australia right now, besides the Kiwi mares... hard to listen to all the bs circulating, was brilliant, amazing, stupendous, wtf .. I was almost believing the winner came from 50 lengths off the pace at the 100 metres, was just another regular photo finish, I thought Mac woulda copped a whip fine.
They were never more than a Half length from each other, the Entire Race
