This is the problem with not making Buddie canon, at least unless the show decides to have both Buck and Eddie swear off romance permanently. How do you write anything that has even close to the intensity of Buddie? For most people who are in a romantic relationship/marriage, at least if it's a healthy & functional one, their partner/spouse is the closest person in the world to them. I don't see how, at this point, what exists between Buck and Eddie can be matched by a relationship either one of them has with a different character. You know, I highly doubt a show would have a man and a woman be THIS close and then pair them off with others. But because they're both men in this case, 911 uses the "heterosexual by default, hence the relationship can't happen" excuse. Well... it's not a very good excuse, because you can easily make both of them NOT heterosexual, without even having to invalidate their previous relationships (hello, bisexuality). I would say the pros, in terms of chemistry and the storyline, FAR outweigh the cons in terms of how supposedly unbelievable it is for Eddie & Buck to both be into men.

The way Buck grimaces in 0:10 before going under the truck to get Eddie is great acting. Whether it's because he has to snap out of the shock in order to act, or because the memory of his leg being crushed by a fire truck makes him apprehensive to get under one (or both), it's clear he has to steel himself before doing it. Whether that came from Oliver himself or the director, well done.

Ok but also whoever plays Capt Metha absolutely killed it in this scene. Each line was delivered with so much intensity like when he says “it was a sniper” I just get chills
That moment when you realize that Metha may have saved Buck when he tackled him to the ground after the first shot, which in turn made it possible for Buck to get under the truck and save Eddie. So really, it's possible that Metha saved both Buck AND Eddie. King.

What really just gets me about Buck, and I truly hope it gets addressed in his healing in therapy, is that we see this scene and see that he saved Eddie. Buck remembers it as failing to keep him from getting shot. Which is entirely unrealistic and self destructive. Like, at some point someone needs to sit that boy down and tell him what he looks like to everyone else- a big god damn hero.
I agree. Buck helps everyone and he might be a bit reckless yes but you have to crazy things sometimes to get the job done. Buck and Eddie are my favorite characters specifically Buck because he loves everyone and saves lives and literally walks through fire evry single day to save lives and that is what a true hero is

I think it's difficult to argue that they *don't* love each other at this point. The level of concern for each other and fear of losing each other reflects a deeper, more powerful bond than just friends or even just best friends. Doesn't necessarily mean it's romantic love. You can love a family member or close friend just as powerfully as a romantic partner. But yes, I think Buck and Eddie love each other, even if it's not in the way that we shippers prefer.
Remember as well though that Eddie knew he had Made Buck Chris legal Guardian , so him asking if Buck was ok, was also in a way making sure Chris would be ok.

Oliver Stark's acting in this episode is just phenomenal. It's what makes this scene so intense. Too bad 911 isn't designed for Golden Globes, SAG and Emmy's prototype.
The realest part is Eddie asking Buck if he's hurt. Because all he sees is Buck covered in blood and checks to see if he's okay. Because people in shock have a tendancy to focus on anything that isn't their own pain. That's some awesome attention to detail.
All of the acting in this two minute clip is 🤯🤯🤯🤯 from Eddie rendering what's going on and only focusing on Buck, to Buck going into shock only to snap himself out to save his best friend, to the others pulling Buck from the open to prevent him from being shot as well, its all just AMAZING, Eddie being nore worried about Buck than himself iabsksji adding this to the reasons I love this show
So sad. I never realized the Dr said his pulse was weak when he got to the hospital. If Buck hadn't been there to grab him so quickly he would've bled out. Eddie tried to stay conscious as long as he could but the blood loss was just too much. When he put his hand up twice and on the 3rd time that's where it went limp and he lost consciousness. Buck knew his life was slipping away that's why he was saying "I need you to hang on Eds". We're so close just 3 minutes away. 😭 So glad Eddie survived.

The realest part is Eddie asking Buck if he's hurt. Because all he sees is Buck covered in blood and checks to see if he's okay. Because people in shock have a tendancy to focus on anything that isn't their own pain. That's some awesome attention to detail.
All of the acting in this two minute clip is 🤯🤯🤯🤯 from Eddie rendering what's going on and only focusing on Buck, to Buck going into shock only to snap himself out to save his best friend, to the others pulling Buck from the open to prevent him from being shot as well, its all just AMAZING, Eddie being nore worried about Buck than himself iabsksji adding this to the reasons I love this show

So sad. I never realized the Dr said his pulse was weak when he got to the hospital. If Buck hadn't been there to grab him so quickly he would've bled out. Eddie tried to stay conscious as long as he could but the blood loss was just too much. When he put his hand up twice and on the 3rd time that's where it went limp and he lost consciousness. Buck knew his life was slipping away that's why he was saying "I need you to hang on Eds". We're so close just 3 minutes away. 😭 So glad Eddie survived.
