fantastic third video im 67 and was brought up in peterborough now live in cornwall but i remember most of those old pictures of different shops and streets around the city when times were very much friendlier and slower shame things have changed so much.keep up the good work with these videos
Great video Del, you're a natural presenter. Grew up there, was at Deacons from 82 - 87, moving away years later when qualified. Pre Internet era when life was simple. Happy days.
Thank you for taking the time to make this, I was lived on Clarence road during the 80's and 90's. I no longer live in Peterborough but wow has it changed over the years!
Thanks for these videos, Del. The old building for Deacons School closed at the end of 1959. My brother went there, but when I started at Deacons in summer 1960, it was the first intake entirely on the new site. Living on Aldermans Drive, I used to cycle along part of Cromwell Road to and from School. I enjoyed the shot of the old labour exchange. My father used to work there, and I would sometimes bo to see him on my way home from school, using that very door. I also got my first suit from there, as one of his colleagues had a shopping catalogue!

Just great Del. Interesting to hear about the pre-Queensgate shops. I lived outside the city in the 70s so didn't know it as well as you. Keep up the good work!
Hello Del, I love your videos of Peterborough! Keep them coming!! I’m 53 so a little younger than yourself and I grew up just out of the city at Farcet so didn’t have the city streets as my “playground “ but listening to your stories and knowledge is truly amazing! Thank you so much
Enjoying the videos Del. I have seen Peterborough through fresh eyes and have learned a lot. I passed both my lorry and bus tests in Peterborough as well as being inside at Perkins for 12 years
Yes I remember signing on in the labour exchange very well
