Austin has a truly amazing voice. He could sing the phonebook and make it sound beautiful. It did this with Home Free back in 2014-2015 but he has grown so much in the quality of his voice. Enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
In an interview over a year ago, he said he’d recorded ‘it’ on four different occasions and still wasn’t happy with it. But was expecting to release it hopefully soon. He didn’t say it was this song, but it sounded like he was talking about this song.

This isn't a big shock Austin is an amazing vocalist and classically trained. He was actually trained to sing without his heavy country accent, like in songs like this. When the guys from Home Free met him and wanted him to join them, they asked him to put the "country" back. As a singer/musician I always the way you break down your reactions. My question is, why do you not react to any Pentatonix? They have so much amazing music. It would be enjoyable see you react to more Gabriel Henrique, he has a ton of stuff out there now.
You might be interested to listen to a song called Empty House sung by Austin. It's not on his channel because the copyright belongs to the songwriter's channel ResurrecSis Music. Austin and his colleague Sebastien will take your demo, make an arrangement and record it. The writer herself says she was stunned at the end result. It's a hard blues and (in my opinion) one of the best things he's ever done. It is quite stunning. Austin's problem has always been that he has never decided what sort of singer he wants to be! He can turn his hand to any genre - in Europe, where we love us a good lyric tenor, he would have made a fortune in modern opera, song recitals, musicals, operetta, all the way to Michael Buble territory. I would have thought that if he had pushed for the auditions, he would have been a hit on Broadway, but he wanted to sing with Home Free. The success of his solo channel, even though it hasn't resulted in eg a commercial performance, has pleased him more than he expected and I think there may still be enough ambition in there to drive him in different directions. He will be opening a new Spotify channel for his cover versions, which we hope will bring him more fans, and he's also working with Jeffrey East on a project to provide music for someone else (highly confidential at present). There's a recent live video "Home Free w/Maggie Baugh: Delta Dawn" in which Austin does the same thing (switches from full to falsetto and back again). He's also a song writer ("Love Me Like That", "Save the World" among Home Free's videos) and "If I Met You Now" and "Off the Grid" on his own channel. Thanks for your comments & insights!

The song is about the old, tired, battle worn man...praying that the young man be saved instead of himself. A young voice can NOT put out that emotion. Song choice is everything, and the composer intended this song for an older voice.
