Seriously thank you so much for the video! Every video I've looked at kept referring to the fuses or the power switch. Thanks to your video I was able to save one of my game boy colors and get it up and working without any other issues.

Great video! Better than a lot I’ve seen out there. I’m currently having this issue, changed Caps, audio Jack works, so now I’m back to deciphering that wiring diagram lol

Sometimes the jack can work fine with headphones plugged in, but the speaker audio will not work due to corrosion inside the audio jack. Hopefully you got it working again!

Record the whole process. I put these videos in the background and passively watch and its great. a longer video wouldnt be bad.

Yeah I agree. I'm fairly new to the whole content creation scene. I'm trying to work through a few things gradually. Thanks for the feedback and for stopping by!

Thank you for this video. I had checked everything else (fuses, power switch, power to the switch). How does a DC jack suddenly go bad on a working GBC?!

Most of the time, the DC Jack always messes up due to corrosion from my experience. Even though you may not see it, it may be inside the port itself that the corrosion is occurring.

@@totalfix877 I restored 13 GBCs over the past year and one of them stopped working because of the jack. I agree with you - the bad jack was really cruddy. The replacement jacks are so cheap that I wish I had just swapped them all out. But, I didn't know that that was a thing until I saw your video. Thanks again!

This connecter just cut the battery when something inserted in it. There must be simply something in the connector

That’s a bad idea bridging that connection. If someone plugs an external power supply in if the batteries are still in situ your gameboy will be toast.

Yes, that’s why I only did it as a form of troubleshooting but not something I would sell to anyone. I bought aftermarket replacement parts to replace this specific component which you may find here:
