absolutely.... people get into a defensive / argumentative mode because their knowledge of Islam has come from the media and random stuff picked up from here and there. inshaAllah, once she speaks to the brothers she will have a positive outlook....
With positive comments she won't be able to learn anything, the good, the bad and the ugly side of herself, especially her arrogance. The truth helps to improve oneself rather then being cocooned like a frog in the well, not moving forward nor backward.

No , Imran is not educating anyone he's just misrepresenting the science and doing sophistry.
For example he states "It's not about the size of the beak, it's the shape" , this is simply incorrect, obviously size and shape are interrelated. The types of finches beaks sizes varies between 6mm and 14mm.
He talks of knowing that all the beaks changed over one or two generations on the birds arrival at the islands, but that is a bare assertion the birds arrived perhaps a million or more years ago ,there no one observed their adaption which he claimed they had. Even epigenetics does not work like that. What I think he is referring to is study relating to a drought .
"A drought on the Galápagos island of Daphne Major in 1977 reduced the number of small seeds available to finches, causing many of the small-beaked finches to die. This caused an increase in the finches' average beak size between 1976 and 1978."
Birds dying because they have no food , whilst others surviving because they have food is not the birds evolving its a selection pressure, just meaning big bills survived, and went onto reproduce big billed birds.
He talks of epigenetics , but these bird types have variations in their genetics as well as their expression of those genetics, epigenetics does not show evolution is wrong. It's no surprise Imran harps on about epigentics , creationists have been jumping all over and misrepresenting that topic in an effort to save their fairy tales.
She asks about homosexuality and Imran cannot even be honest about Islam position on it , he says go to sources, and what do the sources say , they support the spirit of her statement , yet Imran cannot even admit that.

No, I don’t really think she’s trying to school him I think she’s trying to understand the things that he has to say and how different they are from what she learned and of course if someone is teaching you things that are opposite from what you learned your gonna disagree with them and give them reasons why you believe they’re wrong. People come to ask questions from all sorts of backgrounds, British upbringing often makes ppl think high of themselves without the substance or much thought. You need patience to understand that & kill it with kindness to let the truth come out. Masha Allah Imran has done that eloquently.

She's giving her personal subjective idea of morality. Sometimes people are grown and nurtured by different cultures and they completely detached from these ideas. Being around so many cultures I can honestly say I completely understand her way of thinking. This is why you can't impose your own personal idea of morality like she has on to others. This is also why the Quran and Sunnah is important for us to base our lives and behaviour after.

Brother. Her first argument was regarding Darwin’s evolution theory. Which now in 2023 is still a theory. Even Darwin himself after releasing “On the origin of species” claimed that his publication contained errors and that it was impossible correlatie his evolution theory sufficiently. Darwin was taught to me in high school and it took me like 10 years to find out and realize it is a *theory*.

@Sir Christofer Braxton Islam is not new. If you read the Quran prophet Muhammad is the seal of prophet hood from the time of Adam. We accept all the previous prophets n make no distinction between them. Islam is the only other religion to confirm Jesus to be the Messiah.
@Sir Christofer Braxton humanity didn't exist before Adam did it? So God sent messengers throughout the ages with 1 message,to worship God alone. N different laws for the time, like for the Children of Israel the mosaic laws to Muhammad the final testament n law.

So as you well know the scripture followed by Jew n Christians have got many errors n contradictions as attested by these faith own scholars. Islam n the Quran confirms what is correct in these scriptures n rejects what hs been falsified. It's the criterion!

She needs to take a deep breath and let the conversations play out; think about the argument rather than get frustrated.
The doctors arguments are not a personal attack on you; subconsciously you are coming from a place of arrogance, thinking you know it all; have all the answers and your world view is perfect; without flaws.
When challenged on things you hold to be accurate or true, you get emotionally triggered, frustration kicks in and the ability to be rational goes south.
You don't want to accept that there is a higher possibility you could be wrong. What would that mean, shaytaan let's the fear kick in... eternal punishment, I'm not that bad! Am I? Based on morality from where? From who? You are committing a crime by not acknowledging the One who gave you life, the Author of All Existence, Allah.
If you had a child who grew up calling someone else Mummy would you be okay with that? Even though for arguments sake you make an allowance; is it right? Is it just and politically correct? Is it the Truth with a capital T! The answer is No, it's not.
What then if you created the Existence itself, should it not be run in accordance with your rules? Your law's?
If Steve Jobs created an iPhone that didn't do what he programmed it to, do you know what would happen to that phone? Or any consecutive phone after? It would be in the bin sister!
You see human's subconciously understand the concept of submission, we have devices created by humankind all around us that are in 'submission' to 'us'; why then are the rules changed when it comes to our Creator? Double standards! We choose to not accept a simple principle. If you make something you own it; you have the right to do what you want.
To find the truth you have to be objective; objective to everything you know, let's the facts and arguments in front of you speak for themselves; don't let it become a me vs you thing where you just say things for the fact of saying them, becoming defensive, without really giving much thought.
Some words of advice. On the search for God you have to approach your research with complete sincerity and humbleness.
You see Muslims (people who recognise there is a Creator, and are living life in 'submission', 'accordance' with His Law's and Guidance, we love this Creator of ours with all our hearts; the fact he brought us into existence; gave us a life with so many beautiful experiences, good or bad; gave us the ability to know Him through seeing His amazing creation, God told us to be patient and eventually we will return, reunite with Him in Jannah, where He is happy with us and us with Him this gives us so much peace in our hearts. We long for that day; the day we see Allah. May Allah SWT forgive us all our shortcomings and sins and make us from amongst those who get to see Him. Ameen.

Like any other insincere christians always ready to ask d next questions without letting Dr Imran finish his explanation to d previous questions.

A good way to understand the “I believe in Christianity but I am a good person… why should ai go to hell”. Let’s say your in school and on your exams you added 1+1 and you got 3. The correct answer is 2 but you might say “I tried my best…” you still got it wrong. Ok let’s say the teacher lets that slide and this time she says to you “1+1=2” but you still decide to write 1+1=3. You will definitely get penalized for that as she has told you the answer. At the end of the day it’s not about what you believe is right or good. Everyone has different morals but there is one true morality. Yes you write 1+1 is 3 with good intentions but that doesn’t negate the fact that 1+1=2.

I didn’t like how she was jumping to different questions before giving the man to finish his thought. However I think maybe this is just her one step to get closer to Islam. I could see how ready to attack the answers but hopefully one day she could listen clearly with an open mind and heart. Without any prejudice and prejudgments of Islam.
