Oh didn’t know you are here in nyc. Been so busy. Haven’t catch up the feed. As for grand central station, back then they were thinking about demolishing the building. They finished the extension to LIRR two years ago. Made it so much easier for Long Island people to go to East side of Manhattan.

Grand Central station has undergone major overhaul and update about 10 years ago
蕭若元對40年前的紐約記性非常準確。
你42年前來過紐約，還早過我來紐約，我在1986年移民來紐約直到現在，總覺得以前的曼哈顿唐人街很旺氣，因為那时候大多數的新移民來到都在曼哈顿的唐人街衣廠工作，買唐人菜也是在曼哈顿唐人街買的，因為其他地方很少有唐人超市。
啲非法移民係N Y C，市政府提供每人$1000/month, 四口家庭有$4000, 仲要提供食宿，佢哋唔使做嘢，周街遊蕩，有啲甚至打家劫舍，到處宣萱，到處抌垃圾，影響社區民眾居住環境，亦都造成纽约政府龐大嘅支出，呢啲都係我哋New Yorker 嘅血汗錢⋯⋯ 住喺紐約市嘅公民都冇咁嘅福利，呢啲我哋係接受唔到嘅。
我哋唔反對移民政策，即使係非法移民都要調查佢嘅背景，佢哋違反咗法律就應該立即遞解佢哋出境，但係我哋見唔到政府有咁樣做，令到我哋公民感到冇安全感⋯⋯
同加州一樣。時薪工人失去工作最受影響。 好多身邊嘅朋友做餐館 、 超市、蒼庫嘅同一命運減薪50%或冇得撈。 蕭生唔會同情底層打工仔嘅。
