I appreciate the method. It came out nicely and it certainly is a viable option if your want the "look". I also appreciate the deliberate head nod to the authentic cloth and honoring local artisans. I plan to do this. I am thinking canvas cotton drop cloth with navy blue or indigo dye. I am in! So glad you all posted this
🤦🏽♀️it's a SIMPLE diy knock off that can be created for those that can't afford the real as well as a simple project for children. And so what if he's white, who cares... why shoot the messenger? All he's did was demonstrate an easy diy that anyone can do. It's not authentic, if you dislike it, create a video yourself and add it to the comments.
Really annoying how some thing so unique and ancient can be taken and made a common muck that people who have no understanding of the history and significance of this cloth and process ........and what’s worse is the person helping in this cheap knock off 😔
OK, I'm white & I am weirded out by the fact this white guy is "teaching" an American Black woman how to make a fake ass mud cloth. All he is really doing is showing her how to do a dye job with frickin' GLUE! "It's not a "unique way". It's dye & glue & can be done by any kindergarten art class. It's either mud, made in Mali, or it's not. How did she do this demo with this guy & not want to slap him?
