@@6412mars meh, performed this song with some friends. It’s challenging when you first get into it, but a lot of people don’t triplet it and play straight sixteenths. That’s where people find It easy. It’s also not easy when you’re singing the lead part like I was while playing the rhythm.
@@6412mars It's triplets on a swing, at 152bpm, over some funky banjo chords, that's what made Johns playing unique, he played banjo before he played guitar.
Sometimes it hits me... All FOUR of those guys were in the SAME band! Any one of them could have been the front-man for their own band, and they were all together. You could say The Beatles was Ringo's very first "All Star Band." :)
Whoever still thinks it’s Rickenbacker and Gretsch after listening to this needs to get a fresh pair of ears. It’s so obvious that it’s J-160e and classical.
It's the V81 325 capri Rickenbacker with the original low gain toaster pickups that rickenbacker changed shortly after. Plus the middle pickup in the guitar was disconnect ed. The isolation software used to do this changes the sound of the instruments.
This is a theory started in the Beatles tribute world that just sounds like total cobblers. John wouldn’t have cared enough to do it. After The Beatles, John took his Les Paul Jr. to Ron DeMarino who was a well-respected guitar tech in New York, and asked him “Could you put a Humperdincker in this?”
I have to disagree. The rhythm track sounds like the Rickenbacker, it has that electric sound. The Gibson j 160e when plugged in has a different sort of sound, more woodier like on I feel fine, even though it’s plugged in you can hear the difference, the tone is a bit darker, this is more trebly. The Gibson J160 e is heard here but only in the background which has George playing it. Now the solo does in fact sound like it was done on the Gibson J160e which surprised me as I thought for the longest that it was the Gretsch country gentleman, but here the solo has that grainier, woody sound i was talking about. I don’t hear a classical guitar here.
You are Amazing. Think if you isolate the bass and drums. Then you get the vocals center, drums bass left, and guitars right. Like it should have been recorded
@@annelouisemaclellan485people got to remember, this is one of the first times he is playing this. He decided to use triplets to change the feel of the song. If you watch him on Ed Sullivan, he plays them flawlessly.
Lets see your video playing the triplets. I can play the triplets. And let me tell you, it's not easy. Like I said in the other comment, this is one of the first times he is playing the triplets. If you watch concert footage he plays them perfect almost every time
@@anamercado331 I hope I didn’t sound like I was knocking John in any way because I meant it as a sort of a compliment even if it didn’t quite come across that way
Playing a banjo really shaped the Beatles guitar work . Thanks Julia❤
That's classy! :) We could very well say that Ms. Julia helped form the guitarist that John Lennon became. :)
Killer rhythm track! Keeping triplets up like this requires great skill
@@6412mars It’s keeping up the tempo of it without getting lost that is tricky to accomplish, not the strumming per se. But to each their own!

@@6412mars you know fair enough. At least for a intermediate or above guitar player, it shouldn’t cause any problems.

What a great shot of George and John

The Feeling! THE BLOODY FEELING jumps right out at ya!
And not quantized by a computer, damn I miss real music, Thank You

The new 2023 mix even has the classical a little louder in the mix
Thought for years John used the Rick, but it’s unmistakable he used the J-160e, same sound as the first album

you can definitely hear The Buddy Holly influence in Johns guitar playing
I really love John's guitar in the song❤😊
he felt it was his best guitar work. Very clean
Impossibly good.
Damn you can hear the creaking of the strings on Lennon's electroacoustic guitar
John was so off rhythm but still made it work. No one will ever play it just like him. He had a frantic pick hand that can’t be replicated.
It’s pretty accurate, he’s strumming 8th-note triplets so it sounds a but awkward or different
