+Lori Patrick It jumped the shark by Season 9, maybe even 7... I loved the show and own the DVDs but I can rewatch seasons 1-6 with no problem by season 7 through the rest, there are several episodes that I liked
Rachel Parsons I agree with you Rachel. Once Mark died (can't remember which season) they should have ended soon thereafter. But I love the first six seasons too.
I love how the series ended. Everything came full circle Greene is gone but a new Greene has stepped up. Carter the intern became Carter the seasoned mentor. It does not have a feeling of "everything is ending" rather, that County General is still there, the docs are still there, saving lives everyday. I totally missed seasons 12-15 while I was in nursing school and the season ended the year I graduated. It was only appropriate since ER is admittedly the reason I went into the medical field. I had been watching since I was 5. Still the best series tv has ever seen!
Lucky enough to have walked around the WB lot and that little alleyway where the ambulances went (magic of TV). The tracks above exist, the rest was CGI.
same here it hard to bealive the show is ...sorta gone ..... i say sorta cuz my cousin who works as a producer in hollywood just got a script on his desk for 4 more seasons of er aka E.R. the after math
Me too. I grew up wat MOST of my life watching it (I'm a Sickle Cell Patient), and I've spent MOST of my life in & OUT of the HOSPITAL, so I can relate to MOST of what happens on this program. I HATED when this show ENDED
Perfect ending to a great TV show! With Carter back where he started and teaching Mark Green's daughter. Loved this show. Had all 3 of my children in the 90's so I was always home on Thurs nights and never missed it.
Yes...noticed that right off the rip...I always loved watching this show...I have many "favorite" TV shows....ER will Always be on "that list'!! Cheers to ALL "who get it"!!
It was a fantastic show. I watched the Pilot episode back in 1994. I remember making sure I was sitting in front of the TV every Thursday night. Cried like a baby when Dr. Green died. They don't make shows like this anymore!
I was in college at the time and it was appointment television. Everyone on my floor was in the dorm rec room Thursday night watching. And then we'd all get hammered on cheap ice beer!
@@memali2939 It was a marketing gimmick where they said they would freeze the beer, remove the water, making it higher alcohol and more "pure." Music to my ears as a college kid! 😛
Goosebumps every time I watch. I practically grew up watching this show with my mom. The first few seasons with George Clooney, we would fangirl over every scene with him. So glad they brought him back for the final season.
Oh, wow. What an amazing ending, I love it. Brought me to tears. I haven't seen this show since, Greene died. I love how Rachel, was the intern & Carter is the teacher/mentor.
I see people debate did Carter stay or leave. They left his relationship open with Kem, but it sounds like them two grew apart before his trip to Chicago. She didn't even know how ill he was. Not to mention that relationship is doomed cause you got one person forever chasing a closed off person. My head canon say's he stayed in took Rachael under his wing. I think the ER is the one place he felt at home.
Literally just watched this last night.. binged the entire series from beginning to the end.. amazing show highly recommend this show.. it’s on Hulu as of June 2018

Rosie Mandujano me too!! My Mom was a nurse. Back in the 50’s her & a friend traveled the western states & worked @ hospitals long enough to make enough money for the next hospital.. she said it was very much like this.. especially in California
Dude!! I loved that show back in the late 90’s and 2000’s. That final scene when they planned out to show the whole hospital was the first and only time in the 15 seasons on E.R. that county General Hospital was shown in full. All you ever seen up till then was just very little of the outside of the hospital when doctors were meeting ambulances and what not.
I was already in medical school when the first episode started... I remember sitting every Tuesday at 8 PM in front of the TV and checking on doses (sometimes the Hungarian translation was not up to 100% :-) ) Though ER was not the main reason I continued to the ER residency (developed the love a few years earlier) but certainly helped my final decision. Nonetheless, ER is the one and only that has never been beaten by any other medical series ever since.
Saddest episode -- "The Healers" -- When Raul was badly burned after following Shep into the crack house to save some kids. The episode ended with a guilt-ridden Shep crying at Raul's deathbed, "I'm so sorry" over and over. I wish they had kept Carlos Gomez on the show, I loved him.
I lost interest in ER about halfway through when the cast started changing SO much. But I tuned into the finale because I had heard that a lot of the old group were going to make appearances. Overall, I was not disappointed. Bringing back Mark's daughter was ingenious, and the drinks scene with the old group is one of the best parts. The ending scene is also particularly well-done.
I did not know that is lasted 15 years! thats great, Im lucky enough to find series 8 at an op shop where I work and watch it on 9nowonline up to series 5, and now we have chicago Med, love this as well, love all the Wolf created franchise...
An October night in Las Vegas......my wife a nurse was standing in the parking lot and hearing those sirens......she told me later it reminded her of this..
I really wished that the show had of continued. It would of been even greater of a show, if after Dr. Greene's, death we all saw his daughter, as a young Interne! That would of made her father proud!
The first lines spoken in the show is Doctor Greene. The last spoken lines in the show is Doctor Greene. Full circle. The whole cast were a credit to television. Fantastically written, directed and acted throughout the 15 years it was on the air for. Iconic TV Worldwide.
They could have gone on forever with this show because the real main character is the hospital itself. Nurses and doctors come and go, as we saw, but the hospital was always there....but sadly all things must come to an end and when ER was finally over it broke my heart.

Totally agree
This is the best medical show ever. Without ER there would not be Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy or any other show like this. I miss this show.
Hi . Wait. That maybe true but before there was ER there was st. Elsewhere
@@mikeymartin80 ER set the standard for medical dramas though with how it was filmed, the actors, and the stories.
@@alucard624 Casualty and Holby City (UK) are really good Medical TV series too
Also The Good Doctor
Where can I download er?
I just love how they chose to pull back and show the whole hospital at the end. Not sure any medical drama will ever be able to top ER.
UA-camfan none ever will or has, olive this show
Lucky enough to have walked around the WB lot and that little alleyway where the ambulances went (magic of TV). The tracks above exist, the rest was CGI.
UA-camfan I know that was awesome
Actually Casualty has on a number of occasions. But E.R was fantastic as well.
It was quite iconic showing the L going around the track too.
Begin with Greene....end with Greene. Perfection.
Also, Carter was an attending at the end of the series, wasn't he? The cycle or growth from sub-intern to attending was complete.
Mark green was dead for 40 episodes
“You set the tone, Carter”
This show was just a television MASTERPIECE.
as a er fan there is nothing better than hearing the words Dr Greene
Kevin Devries the words dr. green from dr. carter! ^.^
It was nice to see Rachel followed in her dad's footsteps.
“You wanna be a ER doc? This is the fun part.”
*Iconic.*
I grew up watching ER a a kid and I still do as much as I can. The re-runs of this show are better than the new shows of this generation!
