this is the first song that has actually ever given me chills... thank you laura, thank you for your music. I am happy to be alive in the same time that you are.
This tune is almost as beautiful as my 3 children ☺
One the most beautiful songs on the record. 3:50 onwards is just out of this world!
I agree - sounds a bit like Dusty Springfield
Incredibly beautiful. Touches the depth of my soul.
Laura! Köszönöm! (Laura! Thanks!)
Right now, this song is my favorite
Just saw her last night in Chicago and she played this, made the show!
fantastic song
Hauntingly Beautiful
Incredible music
Damn, Laura, you never disappoint.
If you listen very intently, to the timbre and Laura’s phrasing, you can hear traces of Karen Carpenter. Of course it’s all genuinely Laura but the haunting tone of this melody is beautiful and brilliant and brings back the musical memory of a unique voice from many many years ago … well done.
Same thoughts. When I first heard Laura years ago she reminded me in a beautiful way of Karen Carpenter, my mother's favorite. This song, to me, calls to mind Karen Carpenter, Tom Waits, and the band Brand New. Laura Marling is so everloving talented, the weight of the notion it all makes me feel alive! It is all so good
Wait a minute. This reminds me of While my Guitar Gently Weeps from The Beatles (George Harrison). Great song.
Dat Beatles inversion 0:16
This is a piece of art !
You see my oldest friend
Tell her that I’m gone again
You take my old guitar
The one that I once said was ours
Don’t be blue
You hum that old tune
The one I used to sing for you
When we were alone
You ask her if she knew
Was this something I would do?
From the start
Please don’t pass me by
If I'm walking but I don’t know why
It's something that I have to try
Can you love me if I put up a fight?
Take my old guitar
And sell it off for parts
As you should
Take my old tune
Turn it into something new
Something good
Please don’t pass me by
If I'm walking but I don’t know why
I can’t get you off of my mind
Can you love me if I put up a fight?
Is it something you make a habit of?
That's not what I need from love, right now
Right now, right now, right now
Ti ho scoperta guardando un film e adesso molte mie corde vibrano ascoltandoti.
Simply beautiful
This song is gorgeous. I can't help notice the snare seems to throw the timing off here and there. Not sure if its intended? Interesting, if so.
A masterpiece Laura ur finest work to date. Classic guitar a proper gem. Come to Dublin soon again please🤗
This reminds me of Leonard Cohen "Travelling Light". Am I the only one ?
Saw you in Leeds and this was one I took home.
Hmm. Mesmerizing song Laura..
YES!!
Great song! My Friend - Hendrix is the reference... diminished chords up the neck.
wonderfull.
I am a fly is the buzzing of my wings not my trumpet like mouthpart and air from my tiny lungs? X
"could you love me if I gave up a fight" -- maybe?
sounds like they mixed this without Laura's ac
guitar...
Karen Carpenter in the vocals!
or Chrissie Hynde
Dusty Springfield...??
Totally heard her
The guitar riff in this track has been stolen from, Oasis "Masterplan". Don't believe me?!- FF to 4mins28 into Masterplan and play this track from 12 secs in! Hmmmmmm
I hear similarities but they are not the same
Kinda sounds homemade on a cassette player. Another downer. Where the hell is all the ROCK?
Your dog is cute but your comment is not
