0:20 I got goosebumps as soon as I heard this theme - First Blood is an excellent look at the Vietnam War’s effect on good men, soldiers, who fought only to return home as villains. John Rambo is a great character.
Whatever that Hans Zimmer music was for Part III really sold it as the EPIC CONCLUSION to this series, which it was always supposed to be! Amazing trailer.
Great trailer, makes sense you focused on the original trilogy. As Rambo was very much a product of the 1980's, as it defined Pop culture for that decade. Although its origins in the beginning were as dark dramatic piece and not the cartoon jingoism it would later become.
Very true. II & III DO have their ridiculous moments, but still feel intrinsically linked to First Blood, through the Jerry Goldsmith compositions and reappearances of the late Richard Crenna as Colonel Trautman. IV and V feel like a different brand of movie altogether, and I don’t consider them canon.
@@EpicMovieCompilations I just purchased the Uncut German Blu-ray set from Amazon, which comes with a huge wealth of new (2018) extras such as the 3 part Featurettes Rambo takes the 80's spread across the 3 movies. First Blood influenced a lot of other movies, James Cameron himself took Rambo's no killing only injuring policy and applied it to Arnold's Terminator in Terminator 2. So this movie will forever remain an iconic piece of filmmaking and one Stallone's great iconic creations. It is ironic given the Rocky sequels Stallone himself, until Rambo 4 never directed any movie in the franchise. Although there are rumours he ghost directed portions of part 2 (stepping in for official director George Pan Cosmatos). Part 3 director was originally Highlander director Russell Mulchay before being fired and replaced by 2nd Unit Director Peter MacDonald. Rambo 3 for a short while held the Guinness world record for highest paid actor, most expensive film made at the time aswell as the most kills on-screen something that was parodied in the comedy Hot shots part Deux.
