This garden is located in Takamatsu city, Shikoku island. The fastest way to get to Takamatsu is using the Bullet train, it costs 9650 yen, one way and it takes 2 hours and 11 minutes from Kyoto station to Takamatsu station. I am do take ocaccionly picture when i visit gardens or castles. But there are these special times where i know there are enough pictures out there and i can be in the moment and even don't talk to anyone and just get one with nature around. This one gave me exact that feeling, and is on the top list when i will visit shikoku. The location of the tea house is very special i can underestand that the emperor stayed 3 days there. I think i had to see it myself i might have not such a special location like the small tea house at 日本寺. That has a view over the sea and some island in the background where the garden ends and nature starts plus there is a small spring or creek within the garden of the tea house so you can hear it when sitting in the tea house enjoying the view.
I know what you mean. Sometimes I go to the same place twice. First time with a camera, and the second time without it. Sitting on Tatami mat and seeing the garden in the silence is the most peaceful time. Buddha bless you.

i went there last year & it was even lovelier in the spring.
I went there in winter. It must be much more beautiful in spring or in autumn.
