So yeah, maybe his presence is partially responsible for the cause of the backlash - but that's because without him there wouldn't have been any positive feelings on the show to start. Without his inclusion, this show is DOA.

Games Workshop, normally very protective of their lore for obvious reasons, should have told Amazon to fuck off when they demanded Femstodes. Now they've created a monumental mess and stand to lose a lot of money. Even if there are female fans and you want more female representation, well: Female High Lords, Female Inquisitors, Female Adeptus Arbites, Female Imperial Guard, Female Saints, Female Mechanicus, Silent Sisters, Sisters of Battle. There is already an equal amount of female representation. There's also no such thing as a weak negotiating position when you're the IP holder.

If you read some of the W40k novels, the Sisters of Silence do speak when needed. Again, the concept originates from Catholic Dogma which W40K is loosely based on. The Carmelite Nuns can be viewed as the present day Sisters of Silence but it doesn't mean they cannot speak when needed. Amazon does not know that? FR?

The GW social media department did NOT first announced the addition of female custodes--a female custodes was written into the fluff of the new Custodes codex FIRST. GW just confirmed it on social media, as well as add "there have always been female custodes"... which did not go over well. Rumors are usually garbage.
This is the part of the vid that makes no sense. The new codex was written *months* ago. Any drama or fallout between amazon, cavil, and GW should have happened when that was finished. I can’t imagine that the writers on the tv show story line wouldn’t have had advance notice of what was in the new codex. A codex which is likely to have stories central to the new show.

When someone is selling a show they sometimes get some casting before any contract. Usually a few of the main stars attached to gain interest .
they could have put like an Inquisitor with a Ork companion who dresses in a dress or something and it would have been lore friendly. But no they had to specifically attack something we all cherished.
If they wanted to write female custodians into the lore, that would be fine. Maybe start with one worthy female and then, over time we get more. They could have even started it with the show, but shoehorning a bunch of them into the lore out of nowhere just ruins the integrity of the lore. There are far too many O.C.D. nerds in the fandom for them to pull this crap. All anyone wants, is for them to respect their fans.
They probably asked Cavil to add females in, and he probably said no it's not the lore of the custodies. Amazon then turned to GW and said change the lore so they could go back to Cavil and say 'it is now.'

the HARD R sounds like a R shop being turned into HARDER basically in how it would sound. I've seen a bunch of racist stuff from people, then those two sides of the racisms like each other cuz they both dont know they say it about one another's race as I worked an arcade and had to deal with some creetens in my time. 80s I played Warhammer. 90-2000s I worked and wrote Warhammer.
They are fracking the lore. I spent years running all the tournaments at Games Day, major conventions in the US etc… wrote and ran Pub Quizzes
I was a walking encyclopedia of lore. I am so displeased, disappointed and mildly nauseous that this is happening.
