    For a "beginner" at jug fishing, you did right well Mike. I enjoyed watching that. It looked like you could have used an extra set of hands from time to time. You should think about getting Jordan to show you how to fish for the hybrids. Those are a blast once you figure it out and that lake is awesome for that. Hope you have a Happy New Year.

    "Juggin" really looks complicated today compared to yesteryear. Back before flashers and very few paper graphs existed, we used actual jugs. Mostly Clorox bleach bottles smaller than gallon size. Some actually painted their jugs with unique colors to make them identifiable. We used monofilament with single hooks. We usually suspended the baits just off the bottom and dropped them across any current or wind to keep them in motion. We fished as we drifted with the "bottles." Usually, we used at least a dozen. It was a good way to find fish, the bait they preferred and to catch quantity. Sometimes we put out a "trot line." To help gather the numbers we needed for a big fish fry.
    Awesome big fish. Always enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing.

    I love to jug fish! I made my own jugs after watching another youtuber. I use a simple set up made with pool noodles. Simple but effective and inexpensive. Love the videos! One of these days I may cruise up and say hello. I fish Truman quite a bit.

    Hi Mike, I really enjoyed this video. I have two questions. (1) What do you do with the excess jug line on these devices. Do you let the line hit the bottom and then wrap any excess line around the spool? (2) It looks like you placed your jugs in areas that you saw shad on your scope - it that correct? If you weren't able to locate the shad what would you be looking for to place your jugs - as example where a cove leads into the channel ... a flat area. I know you said you're new to this but any advice would be appreciated.

    • @stevedoolittle7230
      @stevedoolittle7230 8 днів тому

      Also, would you ever consider taping a show setting a trot line? I can't seem to consistently set, tie up a trot line between two points - they are (a) good ... (b) too loose or (c) too tight. I've tried looking on UA-cam but have yet to find something that shows the whole process. We run them on Truman in your neck of the woods by the way. Thanks again!!!
