Everything about this is pure gold. MvG and Smith's achievement, the crowd, and Wayne's commentary. He was spot on. "They may both be on nines.' "Michael may miss and Michael may HIT!" Two 147's in a row by both players in a world snooker final?
This was unreal however a 147 is a meaner feat than a 9 darter.
What a final
@@theupstairsproject Strange comment as Phil Taylor and Ronnie O'Sullivan the two greatest at those sports consider them equal?
@@Porkchop259 thats fair enough. I can't argue with them. Just to me seems harder to hit a 147, I would say your average pro darts player hits a 9 more often than a snooker plater hits a maxy
@@theupstairsproject Yeah that's fair enough. I think the point I was trying to make was that you don't see 2 players on for the 9 darter in the same leg, so maybe it's worth one and a half 147's?!
Not just the greatest leg of darts ever, this is one of the greatest moments in sport ever. When the players, commentators and fans combine like that - AMAZING!
I have watched this clip multiple times and everytime I watch it it gives me goosebumps. The crowds reaction to every dart was just exceptional.
What a crowd, what a leg, what a match.
Just now as I’m laying in bed I’m slowly starting to realize what I just watched.
I’m lost for words, this is flat out legendary insane!!
And Smith was on a Potential 9 darter in his last leg to win the game too!!
I don’t know what I would’ve done if this would’ve actually happened, HOLY SHIT!!
Lol… unbelievable… yeah that final leg… imagine he nailed that one too!!! 🫢😳💥
Yeah if he'd have won the thing with a 9 darter the room would've gone absolutely mental.
What happened?? What moment??
I watched 2 times and didn't see anything interesting at all
I only started watching darts last year for the world championship.
1 year later I still watch this. It's my favourite bit of commentary in ANY sport!
The more times I watch this the more emotional I get 😅😂
Mardle when they are both on nines is pure class
Been a darts fan since the early 80’s and so happy that it now has such a massive following it’s a great game .
I've rewatched this so many times already, I'm so honoured to have seen this. I can't get over how phenomenal this was
Well said actually amazing 👍
I must be on like my 50th time or maybe even more, i cant stop im addicted to this video. We r all lucky to have witnessed the best leg of darts ever in history. I only started watching last year and ive seen this. Imagine all those who have been watching for years and years and they see this, it must be absolutely beautiful.
Most darts fans have watched so many times because it's that good.
What a leg of darts just wow! The actual drama alongside the commentary will make this the most viewed clip for decades to come. Epic
Just come back to this now and then and it brings a smile to my face every time. Wow just wow
2022 was the year of Michael Smith's career. Not only did he win his first major, and then the world's, and now this. Absolutely majestic! 👏👏👏
It's been 30 years since I watched Darts ... but this was truly sublime. The commentators helped also , but surely the fans made this almost perfect. If you were there that night - thank you 👍
What a great moment. The players, the commentators and the crowd combined to make it so memorable
Everything about this is incredible. The skill of the players, the commentary, and the crowd!
The occasion, The scoring, the precision from both men. The crowd reactions, the now iconic commentary. Every single bit was absolutely immense! Greatest couple of minutes in darting history
I'm still in disbelief that I actually watched this live. Phenomenal.
The little high five after MVG missed between the players was an almost missed touch of class sportsmanship.
Did MVG acknowledge Smith back when the 9 darter was hit?
Yes - they shook hands. MVG was very humble in defeat
@@nathanaelliew No he never does. Mvg has no class whatsoever
That’s a load of bollocks mate, he’s a great sportsman.@@TWF17069
@@TWF17069 That is totally unfair. Both players did a great job of staying focussed and not getting carried away with the moment - that's what I saw. it's called being professional.
this is my happy place. come back to this a few times each month. and wow. just wow
This was one of the best and craziest World Championship‘s ever. We had Clemens as the first german guy in semi finals, a perfect leg in the darts final which led to darts history , a new World Champion - and on top if this Gerwyn Price with his headphones. A World Championship we will always remember.
bro its not a world cup
@@normanno8514 Yes it is - Michael Smith holds the cup of the 'PDC World Championship' in his hands now - isn't that a 'World Cup', mate?
@@hansigrossini3123 no this is the world championship, the darts world Cup is an entirely different tournament
@@hansigrossini3123 no mate - the world cup of darts is a team event held periodically
@@hansigrossini3123 pretty impressive to add even more stupid on top of something already so stupid. Firstly, the original comment isn't referring to the trophy, it's referring to the entire tournament as the 'World Cup'. Secondly, the World Cup of Darts is an entirely different tournament (as mentioned above). Mate.
Well deserved for Micheal Smith, and a great sportsmanship from MvG. It was a very nice match to watch!
Every now and then, may be when I’ve had a bad day, I put this clip on and always always feel better, one of the best moments in any sport, period!
I could watch this leg a hundred times and it will still be an amazing leg. I don't think any word can describe that leg, what a leg, what a final. Bully Boy deserves his moment. 👍🏼🎯
I am up to 18 and have sent this video to many of my friends here in the United States as an example why I've been love with the darts for the past ten years.
I love Wayne Mardle’s reaction..C’MONN NOW! I cannot SPAKE..I CANNOT SPAKE!!😁Just brilliant...such a Rocky moment .. it had everything! This is the best sporting moment I’ve seen in years and by far the best Darts moment ever! It gives you hope that maybe everything is alright with the world again. Love love loved it. Well done to both for making an incredible final and that double 12 ... Go Smith! Congratulations Smith.👏 🏆
Mardle all but ruined it by yacking his usual brand of tedious nonsense over the first 3 or 4 throws. It was like he wasn't watching. He never shuts up.
I cant stop watching this, its been over 50 times now surely and i just cant stop, everytime i see it on my UA-cam recommendations i watch it like 2-3 times
@@richardmalton4985 i know Wayne isnt the best but u have to give him credit here. His commentary was very good for this.
@@yusufluhar5881 omg send help my way too... I can’t stop either... it’s the best thing I’ve seen in years, decades! It’s just wonderful! 😁👏🏆🎯
@@richardmalton4985 Well I found him funny and enjoyable. I loved his reaction.. it made me laugh.
Goosebumps even after the hundredth watch. Love that MVG gives him a little hand gesture before bully boys final throw. Makes you feel alive
To było NIESAMOWITE!
Will be talked about for years…. Just pure quality that surely can’t be topped
Not usually a fan of Mardle in commentary but he made it even better !👌
Same here mate. Not a fan but that was good.
I can’t spake?? Mardle ruined it. If only we still had John Gwynne
@@JD-re3cj tbf he couldn’t speak a few legs later
@@JD-re3cj ok buzzkill

Just heard Michael Smith being interviewed here in NZ as we have him over for the Darts Masters this weekend. Saw this as it was happening on live TV and came back on YT to relive it. Simply one of the best minutes of sport you are ever likely to see. To beat arguably the greatest player of this generation with a 9-darter at a World Championship final is pure sporting nirvana.
This leg is literally The G.L.O.A.T! It will never be matched for years to come, pure entertainment, excitement, the crowd were electric and the commentators were insane, this video will become an iconic and nostalgic moment for years to come! I wished I was there to see this! Well done to Michael Smith, such a humble man and Van Gerwen for giving him a great final 👍🏾👌🏾❤️
The is no end to the ability of these top players. They just get better and better. Amazing and so happy we can witness their skills.
Excellent production of these events. Crowd audio is fantastic, what a sport. Would love to see this live
This is going to hit a million views real quick! May be up there as the greatest moment in darts history together with MVG's 17 perfect darts, and the commentary is yet again a big part of that. Thank you Wayne Mardle and Stuart Pyke! We have truly witnessed history 🙏
Phil Taylor 2 nine darters In one game will never be topped
I agree the 17 perfect darts will never be match again pure genius is mvg
Already 860k
What an incredible match 🥵🤯🔥
Two Legends 💥💥💥
They make history and will be immortal
The whole audience fell into a crazy riot
i cannot stop watching this, i literally cant.. the tension is just incredible!
I have watched this video about 12 times already and each time is as great as the first time watching it, the incredible darts, the announcers and of course the insane crowd make it amazing. What a great match Michael and Michael.
Snap
We have just witnessed darts history, please come back in a few months to relive this moment
I watch this every month or so. Every time, genuine goosebumps.
This was so hype to watch live! Absolutely insane!
It’s almost a year and ‘I STILL CAN’T SPAKE’😃 Bring on the darts!!!🎯
I’ve just watched that 50 times in a row, unbelievable play, commentary and crowd reaction.
I remember it like it was yesterday. I watched this match together with my dad and the leg before this one I asked him "do you think they will throw a 9 darter?" and than this happened. Absolutely mindblowing.
I watched that amazing leg of darts live, and I can safely say there will not be a better one than that. Absolutely phenomenal from both Michaels!
Arguably the greatest minute in any competition across all sports
Find myself coming back to watch this video whenever im in need of a boost in my mood!
I've literally watched this 10 times on loop and it gets better every time. Unreal leg, never be a better leg than that.. ever 🔥
Stunning sporting moment, whether you are a darts fan or not! Fantastic sportsmanship too in the heat of that moment. Crowd were superb in building the tension too!👏👏
One of the few perfect moments in sport... the insanely high level of play, the iconic commentary, the limbs in the crowd... can't get much better than this
I have never seen a 9-darter live before and was pissed off. Now after this 9-darter in the best leg of all time i am so happy and can't believe this really happened.
Oh, I wasn't the only one that didn't saw a 9-darter live, I just freaked out with my dad when Smith got D12
@@koniu9977 My exact reaction.
Was my first nine-darter live as well. (been watching Darts regularly since 2017/18)
Cant stop comin back to this
Es war mir eine Ehre, dieses geniale Match Live im TV zu sehen....
Michael Smith is an amazing player and after tonight his confidence should sky rocket and I think the best is yet to come from him but you just can't take it away from MVG that man's a machine
Everything about this is pure gold. MvG and Smith's achievement, the crowd, and Wayne's commentary. He was spot on. "They may both be on nines.' "Michael may miss and Michael may HIT!" He called it in the second visit to the board. Just like he did a few days earlier with Mensur's 161 when MvG laid up: "He thinks someone averaging 102 over nigh on five sets is not gonna take out 161."
Also the fact that this was against the MVG throw made this the literal best leg of darts you will ever see ever! Still goosebumps
They're both on 9s THEY'RE BOTH ON 9s!! THIS IS INSANE! Amazing commentary as well fair play Mardel.
0:29 “Michael may miss and Michael may hit! They’re both on nines! THEY’RE BOTH ON THE NINE!!!!! THIS IS INSANE!!!! COME ON NOWWW!!!!”
Could watch this on repeat and get the same goosebumps every single time. Just insane darts 🎯
I learned what a "nine dart" was literally an hour ago, and I can already recognize that this is the greatest game ever played.
Watching this live with my lad... just one of those moments... Goosebumps! Wont ever forget this
Ditto. I was a great experience to watch with my son
Just 3 days in to 2023 and we already have had the best moment of the year. This was amazing.
The greatest moment in darts history! A privilege to have watched it live. Well done Bully Boy for becoming World Champion and World No. 1!
