- A documentary of the original filming locations from the first Friday the 13th motion picture. Locations include those from Blairstown and Hope, New Jersey
i used to live in blairstown from 2000-2005 with my parents....upon seeing the movie again i can see the locations....
😷
I'm Swedish and was there early 2005 and walked around with some people who worked there. They told me where different things from the movie was recorded and they let me in, in the most famous house. Well, took a lot of pictures and it was a very cool experience :)
i live in blairstown now and its not that scarey at all its actually boring..its hard to get a job and theres really no one to hang out with but the people around here are pretty nice i walk down the street and people ride by and just wave.
love that piano!
I'm a huge fan. I'm from NY. I'm a huge Jason fan. Great video.
OMG!! I live in blairstown and I think its so cool that friday the 13th was filmed here. I havnt actually seen the whole movie but I did see the part with the diner and I thought that was pretty cool:)
That’s cool u live in near camp crystal !!!
Yeah now i remember, I cant wait to go back this May I hope I get in like i did the first time we'll see, thanx for responding..
it's an awesome place !!!
You can always try. Sometimes you get somebody nice that will allow you to look around briefy - other times, they just tell you to go away. Everything is falling apart. I'm not sure how much longer the cabin is going to be standing. It's starting to fall apart unless somebody does something about it. The camp counselors were very nice when I visited the first time around 1993 -- they even gave me a tour around - but this was way before all of the hysteria that surrounds it now.
the luncheonette in hope new jersey...when it was open was known locally as Skips Greasy Slide Away...i ate their around the time the movie was made...and i lived nearby
said many times, but still a tragedy the sequels weren't filmed there
This would be a great fund raiser for the camp during the fall / off season period for Friday fans to visit. Charge them $50 to come in. For them to really make money, they should do it throughout the year so people from all over different countries can enjoy the camp. I really don't know why they haven't thought of this. It's a no-brainer.
Yes and use the money to restore it.
Gary Earls or at least just keep it preserved....without changing much.
i've lived in blairstown my whole life, and as a kid, my whole wrestling team stayed at Camp No-Be-Bos-Co for a week every year. we used to swim and canoe in that lake everyday too.
Yes, my very boring hometown, Blairstown. Hope Township is next door. It's a very old town from the 1600s founded by Moravians. These are towns that time forgot, so anytime film productions were making some 1950s boy-coming-of-age fishing movie, they were probably filming it in my town. Yes, the house my dad grew up in was built while George Washington was president. It's a pretty weird place. And all the hicks in the movie - yes, they were locals. I went to school with their grandkids.
Great video, thanks for making it.
thank you !
Just passed by here yesterday. Snapped a few pics on way to Augusta
The camp is private - is it still worth it to visit the locations in Blairstown and Hope without seeing the camp or should I better spend my time in New York?
It just struck me how similar this is for many fans to Catholics, Muslims, Jews, etc. visiting holy sites.
I wouldn't go THAT far ! Nothing beats praising God in Holy sites.
Nothing is as scary as what happens in Blairstown to this day.... nothing!
thanks for sharing the video
super glad you liked it !
The arches is the mill and water works
This Is Amazing
Nice video, I went here in 2007 for the first time & saw everything, the Old Mill, the diner, Moravian cemetary even got into the camp & took a whole bunch of pics. The main cabin is still there it was great. I went back in 2008 saw everything again but this time they wouldnt let me in the camp I was kinda pissed I drove 4 1/2 hours from Massachusetts. Im going back in May this year..
nice !! Yeah, they have these raffles for tickets but you can never get in unless you time it right. It was way easier decades ago....they've made it into a business, and that is awesome, but it's very limited to the fans unless your ticket is chosen.
When it's 11 years ago😭😭😭😭
For anyone interested I visited the Camp this past April 2018 with Actress Adrienne King. They are treating the cabins so they can preserve them and the F13 legacy. The main cabin (VanDusan Lodge) still stands as many other cabins used in the film. What a breathtaking tour!
Happy Haunting I’m doing the VIP sleepover experience in May!
I was there the same time. I stayed and watched the movie on a big screen down by the lake. It was so cold but worth it. It was an awesome experience.
I love Friday the 13th I have the whole collection I'm a big fan of Jason Voorhees ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thank you this brings back a lot of memoriesI visited Blairstown and the camp myself back in 2014. I have a video from it on my page.
I am glad that you liked it !
I lived in Hope when you could sit at the counter and get a sandwich at Skips (Hartungs) now it's an antique store. Sad. Don't blink as you drive through the center of town or you'll miss it. LOL. The best time of my life was spent there, though, when I played the leading role of Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors w/the Hope Community Players in 1998. A lot of history there but not an exciting place to live. I hated driving 25 minutes to Blairstown to go food shopping (or anything else).
A well-made video, with fine piano music in the background. Just one thing: Steve definitely had no designs on the waitress who was almost an old hag. He was only being friendly.
@Amazingstar152 do you know how many friday the 13 movies they filmed there?
bondero just the first one.
@paulallan1000 From what I remember I think it took a couple of hours by car to Blairstown from NYC and maybe 30 min more to the camp.
Nice!
I went last year & the diner is there & your right the food is good, hope I get in. Type up on youtube Horror room part 1, then check out horror room part 2 also horror room part 3 & check out my horror collection, hope you watch & like what you see, thanx, CHRIS...
The gas pump location is not located in Blairstown -- somebody told me it was in the next town nearby called Hope, but I still couldn't locate it there.
@Amazingstar152 about ,how many people live there, does it look spooky at night,or what?
Another bloody film called Mother's Day was filmed not too far from Blairstown. Does anybody know the exact filming locations for the film such as the condemned house, the lake, and the general store?
I just watched a video of the camp from 2011, and the Van Dusen lodge was still there!
xxoxia yep, not in the best shape but they are working on preserving it.
the monopoly cabin is still up
I will check, probably not! :) I live in Mass but I`m going to visit blairstown !
Could you possibly let me know how far is Blairstown from NYC and if their is any kind of public transport to get there ,and how far is NOBEBOSCO from Blairstown thank you
not sure....just google it. It's near blairstown, NJ - and it's a little drive into the country. It would be easier to leave car in Blairstown and take a nice bike ride there....I thought about that last time but didn't do it.
Yeah there sitting on a gold mine if they opened it to the fans...
I don't live too far away from blairstown and shades of death rd, I actually fished ghost lake and caught a friggin sunny the first time there, it was CREEPY! And if you follow the road it'll take Ýou to johnsonburg which has a haunted graveyard
Does the gas pump in friday 1 still exist somewhere in Hope ??
The gas pumps are gone. But the location is still there
Oh, which gas pump? I'll tell you where it is. Post a picture or a clip.
zBeest I think the gas pumps were in hope but they are no longer there.
I live in Blairstown. I should know
holy S@&T that town is more scary than in the actual friday the 13th movie
Great video, man! Do you have the address of the bridge that Enos and Annie drive over? People online are saying it’s the same bridge where Mrs. Voorhees picks up Annie. But you definitely have the right bridge. If you have any information on it, please let me know!
MikeBaroneComedy it’s been literally years since I did that documentary but it was just outside blairstown New Jersey or within the city limits. It’s like the only bridge there. Might have been on the road coming into town. I can’t recall. I was looking for the gas pumps but I think someone said they were in hope, NJ, but they might have removed them...? I don’t think that bridge was the same one that mrs voorhee’s drove her Jeep - I think that was near the camp somewhere.
CHOCLODITE LENSMAN Gotcha. I went to Blairstown yesterday to re-do an old video I made, but I’m gonna have to go back in a month or so to find that bridge. I found the gas pump location during my trip yesterday. It’s actually on Bridge Street in Blairstown. The location is now “Blairstown Car Wash.”
@@MrYankees611 oh wow. That’s good to know. Did you ever find the bridge ?
@@chocloditelensman I did!! I spent hours on google earth looking at every bridge between Blairstown and Hope, NJ and I was able to find it!! It was the same exact bridge you used in your video, too!
In 8th grade I remember taking a class trip to Princeton Blairstown. Is this the same camp? I don't remember the name Camp No-Bo-Bo-Sco so I guess it was a different camp.
cyborgLIS there is an academy somewhere close - like in blairstown- that has been there for many years. You might be thinking about that ?
i live in blairstown and nothing happens at all. this film is the only thing that makes blairstown a good place to tour. main street is screwed up now and apparently, the only cool thing that almost everyone does is hang out in the A&P parking lot
Cool I got in I made a video of it, Get me a job there =)
@Amazingstar152 really? who are you?
@nick1011993 Guess you don't work there anymore.
Wow, this was back in '09 and a pack of Marlboro's was 6.00.. I'd hate to see what they are now..
great observation ! Isn't that crazy? $6 ?!
Fear-based religion talking about "fearless living"? That made me LOL
HAH ! A little homage to Adamthewoo's type of humor !
Technically, it was not called "Friday the 13th Part 1." It was just "Friday the 13th." Just saying! Ha ;)
yes, you are exactly right, but I tried to designate it as the FIRST one as there were so many sequels...most terrible.
NEWARK BRICKS I’m a purest. I only like the originals or ones that started everything off. I know, I’m in the minority of this thinking. I remember trying to all blairstown and talk to people about the movie when it wasn’t hip yet - around 1980.
the luncheonette in hope new jersey...when it was open was known locally as Skips Greasy Slide Away...i ate their around the time the movie was made...and i lived nearby
