Cocentaina is the capital of the El Comtat area, an affluent town demonstrated by the amount of banks. The large 'church' is in fact a palace. You should return for the fair/street market festival at the end October/beginning of November (Fira de Tots Sans). It's the oldest and largest in all of Spain and has been held since the 14th century. Cocentaina transforms into streets of entertainment, food stalls and everything you can possibly think of buying. Attended by hundreds of thousands, you have to see it to believe it!!!
Cocentaina is near Alcoi which is much bigger.There is a fiesta takes place every year and people come from all over Spain to join in.
