    I would really like to know how to get hold of that corporate person. Our local dealer has been two years trying to get me parts for my emax and says he can’t get them. I’m having all kinds of trouble with mine.

    I'm not sure it was covered here. Buy the original lower exhaust bracket on my 2016 eMax22 does connect to the engine mount so the exhaust and engine move together. However given the engine shakes significantly the mount and exhaust need to be able to handle the rapid change in inertia. The lower backet is approx. 1/8" in thickness and will continue to break if you reweld it. To resolve the problem I welded on 1/4" bracket in place of it. I'm my annalists allowing the end of the exhaust to have freedom to move in a rubber coupling will stress the muffler and pipe because it's not held firm on both ends.

      I have a rubber coupling on mine it’s been on there for almost 500 hours now I haven’t had any issues

    Hello Matthew, I just subscribed. Thank you for the input on that muffler problem. It makes sense to not let it idle.
    I have a few questions maybe you can help me answer...
    1. who builds the engine? Daedong or Mitsubishi on those?
    2. Is the emax 22XL powerful enough to run a wood max chipper?
    3. Do you think it’s big enough for almost 8 acres to do loader work on 3-5 acres of clay, sand and rocky terrain in Arkansas, while using the brush hog for some medium duty work? How bout the box blade for a long gravel drive?
    4. Do you consider Mahindras to be as reliable as the John Deere’s, Kioti’s and Kubota’s?
    Sorry for all the questions, but it’s a hard decision to make when considering purchasing a tractor as compared to just forking out a couple hundred bucks to renting one when needed.
    Thanks!

      Answer #1 Daedong 1.0L 3-cyl diesel that’s for the e-Max 25 I’m assuming it’s the same Daedong Company building the engine for the 22
      Answer #2 I’m not really sure about Running a wood chipper it would probably be best to look at the Implement spec sheet itself and see what the horsepower requirement is and RPM range
      Answer #3
      Honestly with all the work you’re needing to do I would highly suggest At least the e-Max 25 It will do everything you mentioned it might take you a little while but it will do the work but I don’t think a 22 will have the power you need or maybe look @ the Bigger version a step up from the e-max 25 the Max 26XL I have bladed my driveway with my 25 it does a good job it just takes a little time and you have to add extra weight To get the traction you need.
      Answer #4
      Yes I consider Mahindra To be a good Reliable tractor just as good as the other brands I have really abused mine Using it in Ways it was never intended everything considered It has been very reliable.
      I like that Mahindra used cast iron For the rear gearbox Differential unlike John Deere uses aluminum in their mini sub compact tractors Having said that weight is always your friend When Buying a tractor but yes all of the brands have their own problems Mahindra is no different I’ve had a few issues but I still consider it a quality tractor. My tractor is one of the early eMax Tractors they hadn’t been out very long so it had a few issues & Mahindra took care of everything Since all of the small issues have been fixed I haven’t had any problems. I think with the newer eMax Tractors Have been redesigned and updated so you shouldn’t have any problems if you buy a new tractor.
      I completely understand it’s always good to gather information before you buy something Personally I wouldn’t be hesitant to go out and buy one You would be surprised how much you’ll end up using it honestly I really like this little tractor it can get in all the small places Do you normally wouldn’t take a tractor We have used it for everything hell my buddy was building a house We used my tractor To move most of the kitchen Appliances into his new house he had swinging patio doors so I was able to drive the tractors into his house Taking all the heavy stuff where it needed to go once you have it you will be surprised how much you can do It makes life so much easier.

    I had the muffler replaced twice and it broke for a third time. They said that they wouldn't replace it again. The second and third time it was broken within 10 hours of it being replaced. The replacement mufflers were the updated version. It's great that I know not to idle it but nothing should break within 10 hours TWICE. I have had other problems as well. Currently it won't go in or out of 4WD. I have tried everything. Including lifting up the front and even jacking up the rear so that none of the tires are on the ground. This has been a problem since I bought it and the dealership has basically said "too bad, should have bought something better." I am able to take it in and out of 4WD now with a 1 inch wrench and turning the lever at the base just outside of the, I assume is the transfer case. The first day I bought it a bolt fell out of the shifter which caused it to not move. Sorry for the rant. There are a bunch of other things but I'll give it a rest for now.

      Don't seem they actually put the upgraded muffler on yours, I know they also have an upgraded muffler tail pipe mounting kit, I think that's what they are calling a upgraded muffler but it's not.

    I wonder if you could adjust the idle stop screw on the injection pump to raise the idle a little? My Emax 22 shakes pretty bad at idle also, but just a slight increase in RPM and it smooths right out. I thought about making an adjustment but the screw is safety wired and the safety wire painted, so it would be pretty obvious with new unpainted wire. Not sure if they'd nitpick that as a reason to deny a warranty claim if something happened down the road...

    • @matthewmilam286
      @matthewmilam286  4 роки тому

      tonyz2897 For warranty purposes I wouldn’t mess with anything on the injection pump If something happens they could very easily blame it on you for adjusting on the injection pump Settings

    You right, the dealership replaced the muffler on my emax 25 but the one they put on looks like it was made for a tank not like the one on your tractor, they also re worked the tailpipe where its attached to the engine instead of just hanging down with a clamp around it on the frame. My tailpipe broke off around 40 hours so now I am pushing 720 hours with no more muffler issues. So looking at the one on your tractor they must have a couple of muffler replacements.

  • @williamray5467
    @williamray5467 3 роки тому

    I know mahindra has heavy duty mufflers to replace these thin ones with because the dealer put one On mine ,heavier, thicker, and looks some different. Why they keep replacing others with the same failed product ? As of now I have nearly 1300 hours with the upgraded one and still no muffler issues and I use this tractor.

    • @matthewmilam286
      @matthewmilam286  3 роки тому

      The heaviness has nothing to do with it it was a heat treat problem the steel was brittle it would crack instead of flex You could almost hit one of the faulty mufflers with a hammer and a hammer would just go through instead of denting

    • @williamray5467
      @williamray5467 3 роки тому

      The heavier / thicker made all the difference in the upgraded one they put on mine and it's made of the same metal, the thin combined with brittle material of course is a design failure. I tried to weld the tailpipe on the old one and it just cracked in a mother spot, but they did have the tailpipe bracket on the frame the new one the dealership put the brackets on the engine instead of the frame. Yep heavier, thicker is better.

      @@williamray5467 I used a generator engine to frame rubber heat resistant coupler I have over 2000 hours now with no issues It’s not all about the thickness Harmonics Metal fatigue plays a big part The Isolating rubber mount helps soak up some of those harmful harmonic Vibrations

    • @williamray5467
      @williamray5467 3 роки тому

      Harmonics is right it is a very important issue to resolve, however it appears you have the muffler tail pipe mounted on the frame the muffler in whole should be mounted to the engine so it can move with the harmonic vibrations of the engine so you have not created a harmonic balance condition so you by passed the intended design by keeping the engine rpms high. To each his own ,personally when I am in the field and need to get off my tractor for a while I want it to at least idle at a modest level. I am glad you feel like you've addressed the issue to suit your needs.

      I know you ask someone else about the hydraulic oil / fluid and I've tried several but the sad part is the best hydraulic fluid I've used in my mahindra emax25 is Sinopec 10w30 gl4 made in China it beats Shell and mahindra brands the sinopec has great water dispersion abilities and of course it's nearly half the price.

    Matt we need help bad, emax22 G . The problem is a grinding noise that is real loud when in gear , sometimes in reverse its ok but its embarrassing to death. It works great but the noise has to go. Any ideas ?

    • @matthewmilam286
      @matthewmilam286  4 роки тому

      Kathy Byerley it Could be the front driveshaft rubbing on the plastic shield that goes around it If your front axle bushings have some play and are allowing the front axle to Flex at a odd angle it could putting the front driveshaft into the plastic shield causing it to grind. I would jack up the front end See if it’s flexing back-and-forth There’s not much clearance between the driveshaft in the plastic shield connecting to the front axle So that’s a possibility Really that’s the only thing I can think of externally that could be causing a problem everything else would be internal inside the transmission.

    • @matthewmilam286
      @matthewmilam286  4 роки тому

      Kathy Byerley when you jack up the front end don’t jack it up at the axles jack it up behind the axles so the front axle is floating free that way you can grab the tire and see if there’s any movement front to back and try to turn the tire See if there’s any torque motion that could affect the driveshaft alignment

    I have this same issue on my Emax 22 Hst.my muffler is completely apart and rattling still.do you know how long the power train warranty is on these?I thought it was either 5 or 7 years.I have had this tractor for about 5 years,should it still be covered?also do you have a number that I could call this Darren from Mahindra to check with him.Any help would be greatly appreciated.I was going to try to build something,because I figured it would be extremely expensive to buy a factory on.

    • @matthewmilam286
      @matthewmilam286  4 роки тому

      Charles Adam Just use your own Judgment if the tractor is vibrating violently that’s not the ideal rpm I have the eMax 25 I don’t know if your engine is any smoother being the 20hp Version but When you feel it smooth out and not be rattling everything on the tractor that would be your ideal starting RPM just don’t let hard idle Probably around 200 RPM Would be a good start I know on my tractor anything below 150 it starts Vibrating

    • @williamray5467
      @williamray5467 2 роки тому

      My emax25 has always run fairly smooth for a diesel I idle around 1500 rpm and most normal operations are good at 1800-2000 rpms while brush cutting with a bush hog requires around 2500 but I've never run my tractor above 2800 rpms, so what's the Boo mean in your comments ?
