1. Tama ka sa downshift sa L or D3, D2, etc when going downhill to prevent brake overheating. 2. Kung uphill iwanan mo sa D. This is a common misconception in the Philippines. It's called an AUTOMATIC transmission because it automatically selects the correct gear. The vehicle KNOWS when you're going uphill and will properly select (and downshift as required to) the right gear based on how steep the road is and how fast you want to go. 3. In traffic leave the transmission in D. No need to put in in N. In fact leaving the transmission in D is better because when you go from N to D there is a slight driveline jolt as the transmission engages. 4. Nothing wrong with left foot braking. Many race car drivers do it. I use my left foot half of the time I brake. The reason it's not advisable for beginners because it might be hard for some to properly modulate the brake with the left foot. It took me a few days to train my left foot to properly modulate the brake. 5. You forgot to show how to operate the rear wipers. 6. One very important function of the tachometer. If you're in D and you notice that the rpm is higher than usual then that's a sign that the transmission might have a problem because it's not upshifting. It may be also that you forgot and left the lever at D2, D3 when driving on the highway. 7. Some vehicles will not allow you to move the shift lever from P unless you step on the brake.
One more important tip. When parking especially when you're on an inclined street or driveway: 1. After stopping place transmission in N (with your foot on the brake) 2. Engage parking or hand brake 3. Place transmission into P. This insures that you're not putting too much force or stress on the transmission park pawl(this locks the transmission) which may break if too much force is applied. 4. If you park on a downhill road point your wheels toward the gutter (or curb). On an uphill road point it away from the gutter. This insures in case that the parking brake &/or the transmission park pawl breaks your vehicle will stopped by the gutter. This also make it harder to steal your car.
Very good tutorial, especially the gear shifting. I first learned how to drive the manual transmission and have to learn about automatic. I learned a lot with this video.

Sir 17:31 after u start the engine and press the brake. u have to release first the gear either R or D before u release the hand brake. doing so will not damage the transmission gear as the pressure of the engine will be put on the handbrake not on the transmission gear

Nice tutorial video pero sa 7:42 sa mga bagong matic, kahit naka-handbreak ay tatakbo pa rin ang sasakyan pero makunat. Check n'yo sa you tube yong mga nakalimot ibaba ang hand-break at nag-drive pauwi ng bahay tsaka lang malaman na naka-handbreak pa ang kotse. Kaya advise na lang sa mga beginners: WAG KALIMUTAN ANG HAND-BREAK.
Sa bagay.... :) and look at the dash displays.... naka lagay naman dun kung naka activate ang handbrake tsaka kung may tumutunog check the multi info display para malaman kung bakit :)
@@arseniomata3903 sa + - it will downshift like normal matic but won't upshift until you push it forward(+) same with paddle shifter. The advantage is you can floor your gas pedal and continue shifting up not loosing power. Just hold on tight on the steering wheel coz you will definitely feel the kick.

The only right way to wait at a stop sign is the safe way. It all comes down to preference. If you don't like stepping on the brakes for 120 seconds, then put it in neutral and engage the hand brake. Just don't forget to disengage it when you start to drive again. If you have the patience, then just keep the transmission at the drive (D) position and keep your foot on the brake. The torque converter will still deliver a minimal amount of power to the transmission, but this is perfectly ok. It will not damage your vehicle.
@@edmontoncouple1562 . It all comes down to preference and patience. Perfect for all situations if you stay safe. A lot of people forget they are still in drive (D) mode and release the brake, bumping into the vehicle in front of them at a stop sign.

NEVER na inilalagay ang kotse sa neutral at ini-engage ang parking brake pag nasa traffic. Diyan ka madidisgrasya dahil pag nagtakbuhan na ay marami ka pang gagawin - malilito ka, lalo na pag may bumusina sa yo. Disgrasya ang aabutin mo. That was probably what happened to those drivers who claimed their Monteros Auto-accelerated and caused their accidents. Keep your transmission in Drive (D), your hands at the wheel, eyes on traffic, and foot on the brake. When traffic goes all you do is go. The main purpose of neutral (N) on an automatic is for towing or pushing the car. Obviously you can't push it with the transmission in Park (P), or if you tow it with the transmission in gear (D) or in Park (P) and the drive wheels are in contact with the ground, you'll ruin your transmission or your tires or both. Putting cars in Neutral is a bad habit from driving Manual Transmissions. Not applying parking brake when parking is asking for accident.

proper use of 3,2,L:
L-for uphill and downhill
2- for short uphill and downhill
3- for rainy weather and when your car is getting towed
When you're being towed place transmission in N (neutral). Otherwise you'll damage your transmission.
When you're uphill use D. Gear will automatically shift to low.?

Nice tutorial video pero sa 7:42 sa mga bagong matic, kahit naka-handbreak ay tatakbo pa rin ang sasakyan pero makunat. Check n'yo sa you tube yong mga nakalimot ibaba ang hand-break at nag-drive pauwi ng bahay tsaka lang malaman na naka-handbreak pa ang kotse. Kaya advise na lang sa mga beginners: WAG KALIMUTAN ANG HAND-BREAK.
Sa bagay.... :) and look at the dash displays.... naka lagay naman dun kung naka activate ang handbrake tsaka kung may tumutunog check the multi info display para malaman kung bakit :)

@@arseniomata3903 sa + - it will downshift like normal matic but won't upshift until you push it forward(+) same with paddle shifter. The advantage is you can floor your gas pedal and continue shifting up not loosing power. Just hold on tight on the steering wheel coz you will definitely feel the kick.

You are driving a DUAL transmission: +/- means u shift ur car in MANUAL TRANSMISSION,
+ (1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th gear)
- (release gear downward)

The only right way to wait at a stop sign is the safe way. It all comes down to preference.
If you don't like stepping on the brakes for 120 seconds, then put it in neutral and engage the hand brake. Just don't forget to disengage it when you start to drive again.
If you have the patience, then just keep the transmission at the drive (D) position and keep your foot on the brake. The torque converter will still deliver a minimal amount of
power to the transmission, but this is perfectly ok. It will not damage your vehicle.
At the intersection I usually just leave it on D. The only time I put it on P if I'm at the railroad crossing.
@@edmontoncouple1562 . It all comes down to preference and patience. Perfect for all situations if you stay safe. A lot of people forget they are still in drive (D) mode and release the brake, bumping into the vehicle in front of them at a stop sign.
@@KMacFNP I totally agree for safety but most those accidents are caused by the drivers being stupidly distracted, can't live without using their gadgets when they see red light 🚦.

That was probably what happened to those drivers who claimed their Monteros Auto-accelerated and caused their accidents.
Keep your transmission in Drive (D), your hands at the wheel, eyes on traffic, and foot on the brake. When traffic goes all you do is go.
The main purpose of neutral (N) on an automatic is for towing or pushing the car. Obviously you can't push it with the transmission in Park (P), or if you tow it with the transmission in gear (D) or in Park (P) and the drive wheels are in contact with the ground, you'll ruin your transmission or your tires or both.
Putting cars in Neutral is a bad habit from driving Manual Transmissions. Not applying parking brake when parking is asking for accident.

@@albongcara5125 pwede naman i-handbrake sir for added braking support. Pero normally depressing the footbrake is more than enough na kung hindi naman matagal na nakahinto sa uphill na daan.
