Yes they are. I was out working in the garden this evening and a Cardinal flew down and started bathing with me working a couple feet away. He was splashing water everywhere and didn't seem to be worried about me.
Today, I priced another bird bath like the one I have and decided I am going to have to go with something cheaper. lol This one belonged to my mother-in-law. She left it here when we bought their old house. I had no idea they were so expensive. They probably weren't when she bought it though.
This is so cool I just got my first bird bath I did put a small solar fountain in it to mimic the sound of a natural waterfall. I hope it works I want to get a little camera to see what goes on in it while I'm working lol. Love yours
Thank you. I have a solar fountain in one of mine too. The bluebirds love the sound of water. I have a GoPro so I only record an hour at a time. I would love to get something that records all the time.
I just rented a house in the hills. Lots of birds at my feeders. I got a pedestal metal birdbath and not one bird in a week. It’s in the shade mostly under trees. What might be the problem?
If the basin is metal the water will get warmer. Birds prefer cooler water especially in the summer. Being in a shaded area helps so that's good you have that. You may need to place a rock in it to provide a shallow non-slippery perch for smaller birds. A lot of birds won't use a new bath until there is rock or something in it to show them the depth of the water. I have one I did this with and after a month I was able to remove the rock because they realized the water wasn't that deep. It sometimes takes a few weeks for birds to get use to new baths. I hope this helps. Let me know if it does.
I bought this new concrete bird bath. Spent like $400 on it. I have it in a newly flower garden I built but nothing growing yet. So its by itself. How do I attract them to it. Maybe I need a bubbler added?
Is it near any trees or bushes? Birds like a place to take cover quickly. I had mine in the front yard and they never used it but when I moved it to the back near all the trees the started using it. It can also take a couple weeks for them to use a new bath. If it is deep adding some rocks can help attract the smaller birds.
@@BobbiJo thanks Bobbi, It’s a new house so there are no trees around. I have it in the backyard in a retaining wall I built. There is a huge privacy fence I had installed too thats 6ft tall. Does adding a bubbler help?
You have some beautiful garden birds, that appreciate the bird bath😊
Thank you
That same Robin keeps taking the longest baths lol adorable
The Robins and Mourning Doves hang out in the concrete birdbath more than the others.
Thank you for this video. I loved watching the birds bath and it was great to hear the train in the background.
Thanks for watching!

@@BobbiJo the privacy fence is about 15ft away from it so they could land there. I’m going to hang my feeders off that fence too
