Great job! I loved the pitchfork uses. Subscribed.
Thank you! 🙌🏻
Great stuff man! Sounds great!
Thanks Bradford, means a lot coming from you! 🙌🏻
legend! incredible tone and excellent versatility. Playing was spot on!
Thanks for the support! 🙌🏻
Yeeeeah voltou com tudo 😍🔥🔥🙏🏾
The sound is amazing!!!!!
Thanks! 🤘🏻
Incrível! Saudações do Brasil 🇧🇷🙌
🙌🙌🙌 Thanks for taking us along for the TOANZ!
Thanks for putting out such AWESOME products! 🔥🔥
LOVE your tone, dude. That tele sings.
Thanks man! 🙌🏻
This sounds fantastic
Thanks! 🙌🏻
Your drive section sounds incredible! Especially for direct, they retain a lot of the bottom end and don't sound thin.
Thanks man! I really love how well the Iridium handles drive pedals 💪🏼
Sounds amazing! Now I want a tele
Thanks man! Teles really are so solid 👌🏻
amazing stuff
Thank you! 🙌🏻
So solid man, love the tone! I’ve been interested in the LAMB and you might have sold me on it!
Thanks man! For real, I've been super impressed with it!
nice sound!
Thank you! 🙌🏻
Love your rig! (and the GP&F riff played when demoing at one point). Hoping to own some of these one day when my account is a little more padded 😅
Thanks Alex! 🙌🏻 Totally understand that haha, It's taken me about 8 or 9 years to get the board to where it is today!
The Superbolt side of the Ruby Red is super pleasing to the ears, it seemed to tame the brightness of the tele and sounds super useful for mellow guitar lines that dont need to cut through.
Yeah I totally agree, the Superbolt is so good for that
Sounds great Brutha!
Thanks man! 💪🏼
Looks CLEAN
THANKS BROTHA
Hey Sam! I found you.. been a fan of UA-cam creators and regular listener there. I’m also a worship guitarist. Btw I’ve interviewed several guitarists on my channel recently! I’m more of a modeler guy ..
Great video!
Thanks! 🙌🏻
Great video! My board is almost exactly the same…even running the same IR’s on the Irridium 🤯
Nice dude!! Great minds think alike 😂
All ur pedal are my dream tones
❤
You sound great dude
Thanks man!
7:00 Is that some Gable Price & Friends I hear? So good!!
Yessir! 👌🏻
Great tones as always. That klone is surprisingly good for the price point!
I had a pretty sweet idea, maybe we can send in pictures of our rigs and you could give us pointers 😂
Thanks Allen! Haha yeah that would be fun!
Great to see someone using a mexican tele as I do for worship! 😊
tele gang! 🎸🎸
Amazing video, you are so good at teaching!
Sometimes I feel like my pedalboard HAS to have midi stuff and programming. Would love a future video to maybe touch on pros and cons of midi/programming and how to use a pedalboard efficiently if you choose to go with a regular pedalboard like yours
Thanks man! 🙌🏻 And that's a great idea, thanks for the suggestion!
@@SamWittek yes and maybe tips/tricks or rules of thumb for how to minimize tap dancing too much. Anyway, thanks for these videos!
@@erickdiaz6152 Love it, glad the videos are helpful!
Nice pedal board. Check out the Strymon Cloudburst if you get sa chance. Really cool pedal. Perfect for Worship tones
Thanks man! Yeah from what I've seen the Cloudburst looks really cool!
This was very helpful!! thank you so much!
So glad this was helpful!
i like this guy
😎
Hey Sam! Really interested in trying out to your Strymon presets. Are you able to upload a quick video of the differences between CLOUD and FLOAT? Cheers
Hey Alex! Definitely, I’ve been meaning to put some clips together for a little while now. In the meantime, the videos on the channel do a pretty good job of showing some of the nuance between presets, but I’ll try to get some vids up at some point! 🤘🏻
Okay definitely loving that Pitchfork pedal. I might pick one up now cause we have that hapen a lot at my church. BTw whats that riff you played at 6:56? sounds great!
Thanks man! Yeah it's seriously awesome, and definitely comes in clutch for those moments! And that riff is Heretic by Gable Price and Friends. Great song! 🔥
@@SamWittek awesome! thanks for your work!
I love your sound. Thank you for this video. Btw would you ever switch to digital like quad cortex/fm9/helix? I'm wondering if I should go this route or just one of those^
Thanks Charles! At this time I personally don't love the idea of going to an all in one digital solution, I just love pedals too much 😂 Totally a personal preference thing though, all of those units sound awesome
I am DIGGING(!) your board! Many of the same pedals as me and I'm looking to integrate my PirateMIDI bridge6, just like you've done your morningstar. I have a similar size board with pedals that do the same kinda function as you. I'd say the thing that's different in soundscape is the microcosm and Friedman BE-0D for distortion and metal possibility. I'd be very interested in some help with my board. I'll list my pedals also with singnalchain:
Xotic Wah->JHS FUZZ series 3->EHX pitchfork+->Strymon Compardre->Walrus Audio Warhorn/Ages combo->Xotic SL drive->
Friedman BE-OD->JHS Muffaletta->OBNE Reflector V3-> Walrus audio M1->Alexander pedals Rewind->Strymon Timeline->Strymon Big Sky-> Hologram Microcosm
I'm thinking about replacing the two JHS fuzzes with the walrus audio eons and finding a smaller reverb than the big sky. Looking to integrate these pedals for the main big pedalboard with midi, and having a Nano+ og metro max size pedalboard for the small and easygoing rig
Looking forward for you feedback
Thanks so much! I'm sure that's a killer sounding board. I haven't personally tried the Eons but it seems like there's a ton of fuzz options packed into it. For a smaller reverb option that also integrates with MIDI, I'd definitely recommend the Jet Pedals Revelation. Super small footprint but packs a massive punch 💪🏼
Hi Sam. Seen a few of videos and I love your tone. I have a big sky, but I want to upgrade from my kemper delays to an actual pedal. You get great delay tones, but I suspect much of that is your ability. Is there a reason you haven’t gone for the timeline? Apologies if you have addressed this before). Thanks for your great content as always.
Thanks David! I'd love to go for the timeline eventually but for now I just haven't felt like I NEED it. I feel like I'd probably stick with a tape delay 90% of the time, and the el cap already does that so well. Who knows though, I wouldn't be surprised if I upgraded at some point in the future!
Subscribed because I stan your tone!
I hope you can share your insight on some of my concern since I’m rebuilding my pedalboard, just wanna know your thoughts:
- Why your tuner is after the volume pedal,
-If I have an octaver, should it run before/after the compressor?
Btw, my current chain as of now is:
Tuner-Octaver-TonePressCompressor-FulltoneDrive1-Plumes-SparkMini-DVP4-Orca-Slo
might consider rearranging the chain though. Thanks and God bless you!
Thank you! And great question. I have my tuner actually going out of the "tuner out" of the volume pedal. I have it here because that means it's basically separate from my signal chain, and I can keep it on without muting my signal. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions!
Freakin sick bro. Your board is a perfect example of how you don’t need a behemoth like mine to have incredible tone and versatility. Very well done and great playing as always 🙏🏾
Thanks brother! 💪🏼
But you do need Behemoth and Leviathan
@@jeremyserwer2586 😮
Love your content bro! Where do you get your bigsky presets? Im kinda stuck with the built in ones. Thanks!
Thanks man! 🙌🏻I built all my bigsky presets, I have them linked in the description if you feel like checking them out!
@@SamWittek oh there, thanks!
Great demo and solid pro playing. I have the Mobius, and also don’t enjoy the menu diving. I can highly recommend the Xotic EP Booster. It adds a rich sonic dimension to leads when placed immediately ahead of your favorite gain. Note: the Mobius doesn’t like the dB boost of the EP. Thank you for using your gift to glorify Jesus. I wish contemporary Christian albums weren’t so afraid to include guitar solos on their tracks. What a shame. Sweet Comfort Band did, but that was then.
Thanks Steve!
Awesome board! Do you by chance know if that deep six is a v1 or v2?
Thanks! It's the v1
How did you mount the diso and the zuma? Very nice setup and tone!
Thanks Brad! Initially I mounted them both underneath the board with Temple Plates. Over time though I ended up swapping to velcro for the Zuma
Hey bro thar bigger knob on the capistan where can I get one for mine? Thanks
Man I wish I could tell you! It already had the big knob when I bought it so I’m not sure where they originally got it from
Great setup! Just a quick question. How do you set the tempo on your delay pedal. Do you store presets or you tap it for each song in the set ?
Thanks! Right now I'm just tapping it in for each song, but I'd love to upgrade to programming bpm at some point
Have you not considered adding midi controllers to this board to centralize everything and access for presets ?
Yeah I've considered it! I've always been a little intimidated by midi because I tend to get "choice paralysis" with too many options. I naturally gravitate towards more simple solutions. I know midi CAN simplify things though so I'm probably gonna tip my toe in that water in the near future 😁
Iridium is pretty dope. Do you think about moving to UA Ruby?
It really is. I'd love to try one out but I haven't really considered moving over to them, mainly because I'm just super content with the iridiums 🤷🏻♂
HI! Quick question. Are you running Stereo TS cables into the DISO+ >> Stereo XLR to TS into XLR Mod >> XLR outs into FOH?
Hey yep that's correct!
Gable Price & Friends. Nice
Sounds amazing as usual! Where does your signal begin to be in stereo?
Thanks Grae! 🙌🏻 The stereo signal begins coming out of the el cap!
@@SamWittek gotcha! Is your el cap modded to take mono in and be able to split to stereo out? I think mine has to see stereo coming in (via a TRS) to be able to output in stereo.
@@GraeMcCullough Ohh interesting I'll have to look into that! I'm not running a stereo signal into it, and I had just assumed that it was running stereo out by design
Awesome tone! What pick are you using? Love the scrapey attack you get. Almost sounds like the Herdim pick the Edge uses.
Right on the money! That's exactly the pick I'm using haha
@@SamWittek haha well there you go! Red or blue? I tried them out a while ago and just didn't like strumming chords with the upside down grip. I ended up just using blue tortex picks and taking coarse sandpaper to the edges - so when I want the chime I just turn the pick a little more sideways when I strike the strings, but otherwise have a regular pick.
@@BenSalzmann I'm using the blue ones :) smart! Yeah strumming does feel a little awkward. I usually use the herdim but also have a different smooth pick on hand for chords or certain parts where I don't want the grip.
Sam this board is awesome and helps me stay convinced that I don’t need to purchase and learn a complicated midi controller!
Quick question: I have requested “the lion” from jet pedals, have you played with that pedal at all? If so what are your thoughts? Cuz after this video I might ask JR to switch the order to the lamb 😅
Hey Isaiah thank you! I haven't tried out the Lion yet but from what I've heard it sounds great! They're pretty similar in functionality so it probably would come down to whether you would get more use out of distortion tones with the Lion vs overdrive tones with the Lamb
@@SamWittek I might just have to buy both 😂
@@SundayMorningGuitars Haha you'd be set for life!
Have you tried running wet effects after the Iridium? Also, are you running the ProSonic IR and the AC30 IR together in stereo on the chime setting?
I have! It's just not my preference, I really like the sound of my wet effects breaking up. And yep that's how I have it set up!
@@SamWittek awesome, thank you!!
Would you recommend putting the compressor in the beginning of the chain or after the drives in a worship setting? Why? (Also your videos sold me to buy a pitchfork octave pedal! ❤)
Love the pitchfork! I personally prefer the compressor before my drives because I want there to be some volume increases when I engage higher stage drives, especially my boost. If my compressor is after the drives, it'll squish everything more and things will just get dirtier, without necessarily any more volume being added. Hope that makes sense!
@@SamWittek thank you! Also just got my pitchfork, but Im still not sure exactly how to use it, even after watching all your videos on it. Could you make a video on this pedal specifically and how to use it in a worship setting? Thanks so much!
@@itslukebro513 For sure! Have you checked this video out yet? There's some more detail when you skip ahead to around the 7:30 mark. Hope this helps! ua-cam.com/video/buK90OOZNgQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=SamWittek
Can you share how did you install that Zuma power supply? I plan to switch from Pedaltrain jr to temple board duo 24, but I see people installing the Ciosk as they have a partnership.
Yep! Yeah I just mounted it underneath the board with one of the temple plates, and I connected it to the power module that's mounted onto the side of my board. Then I just have it running power to all of my pedals. Hope that helps!
@@SamWittek Yes, thank you!!
Awesome video!! On your iridium, you are running the Vox and pro sonic in stereo? I know the Vox is chime and the prosonic is in the round. Does it work well being both in Chime? Thanks!!
Thanks! Yeah, well I'm running them as "stereo" as I can with one Iridium lol. I have both the Vox and Prosonic IRs running through Chime, and I've had no issues! Even the Prosonic speakers by themselves sound great through Chime. Hope that helps!
bagel bites are amazing btw ❤
@@SamWittek thanks! I have all your big sky presets and they’re great btw. I use the bloom most of the time.
@@baglebites Thanks so much for the support! Glad you're enjoying them! 🙌🏻
How come you run the chorus/vibrato into the volume pedal?
Purely due to the lengths of my patch cables 😂 Plus for me it’s pretty negligible whether it’s before or after the volume pedal
Does the PitchFork pedal only go up? or does it go down half steps and whole steps?thanks
Great question, it's super versatile so it can go up or down (or both) at any interval including multiple octaves up or down!
@@SamWittek Awesome!!
D..n, I miss the Kilt Sam ;) Other than that, a tight and very nice board, again! ps, have you ever tried the Ruby? Enjoy playing! Grtzzz Leon
Good to hear from you Leon! Thanks man, I haven't had a chance to try out the Ruby just yet but I'd love to compare to the Iridium at some point!
Pitch fork is the devil's pedal. How did that get past any scrutiny?
Sweet board man! Did you adjust the EQ for the iridium in the software? Or did you leave the EQ as is?
Thanks! Nope I just left the EQ as is
Your tone sounds full. I’ll have to give the IRS you mentioned a try. I usually adjust the bass in the software to get the bass response I’m looking for.
@@ThePogiPinoy123 Thanks man, yeah I really like this IR configuration because I feel like the 545 mics give the punchiness, while the r121 fills in some of the fullness
Are those a Standard Set of Porter pick ups or the custom tele pups? They sound like Porter's customs.
I have the Porter custom tele pickups. Love ‘em!
@Sam Wittek I figured. They do sound soooooooo good. I listened to them on their website. Thats how I would want a tele to sound. Especially that bridge pup. Yesssssssssss!
Hi Sam, so I assume based on your board you tap the tempo of each song in. How do you switch delay subdivision? I assume you have to bend down and use the pedal itself. Do you no longer use the Analog endeavors switch? I’m looking at getting an El Cap and was hoping there was a foot switch that could handle both tap tempo and also a favorite switch so I can have one favorite for dotted eight and one for quarter note just in case.
Yep! I still have the analog endeavors switch but i'm just not using it atm. I use dotted 8th 90% of the time so it's never been too much trouble to bend down and change subdivisions when needed. I know the newer El Cap v2 has midi and presets, so I'm sure that would be a solution for you!
@@SamWittek Thanks! A different question. I've always been wondering if I should try out an Iridium. I currently use an HX Stomp for amps and it's fine, but your tones in the your video make we want to try out an Iridium. For the Tone Factor IRs, I saw your listed the ones you are using, but does it matter which one you load into what stereo slot (left v. right)? And then do you have to keep the left and right consistent when running your signal to the mixer? Thanks!
@@cassonwen I don't think it really matters which one is loaded where since the Iridium doesn't really have "true" stereo. It outputs a stereo signal but it's a blend of the speaker IRs. I do try to keep the L and R signals consistent though when running out of the Iridium
@@SamWittek thanks!
Because of the diso, are you not using an amp anymore and just straight into the house board?
It's actually the Iridium that is replacing my amp. The DISO+ is more acting like a DI box, where it's converting my signal from 1/4 to XLR to send to the house board
@@SamWittek thank you for the feedback. That is actually pretty cool and an awsome pedal board that i now wanna copy that i think would benefit the church im going to which has sound(volume) issues and this would solve it!
@@jeremyromero1403 Yeah I can't speak highly enough about the Iridium! They're pretty cheap these days and sound great. Especially for playing at church where maybe there are sound issues or you're trying to mitigate stage volume, it's a super consistent and convenient solution
Hey bro, how do you conect the big sky to the iridium in stereo?
Hey man! I'm going stereo (dual TS) out of the bigsky to TRS stereo IN to the iridium with one of these Y cables: www.amazon.com/EBS-ICY-30-Right-Angle-Insert/dp/B07N6PC5TZ?crid=WVDC4SNZNC4S&keywords=ebs+icy-30&qid=1684886698&sprefix=ebs+icy-,aps,104&sr=8-2&linkCode=sl1&tag=samwittek00-20&linkId=fc5ae21c363a220f4a3ee1e5e1a72ebe&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl
Thx so much bro, God bless you
@@joseprivado5793 Of course! God bless! 🙌🏻
Great video! So how are you powering all those pedals if the Zuma only powers 9? Also, how are you mounting the zuma and your other pedals? Thanks so much!!
Hey David, thanks! So I'm daisy chaining a few pedals out of the outputs on the Zuma. Since some of the overdrive pedals have such a small mA draw, you can daisy chain them together with no issues. Also I'm using the temple audio plates to mount everything with this temple audio board. Even the pedals underneath like the Zuma and the DISO+ are mounted underneath the board with the temple plates. Hope that helps!
@@SamWittek hey Sam, I really appreciate the reply! So you are using the mounting plates for even the pedals on the top?
@@FenderLewis Of course! Yep, I'm using mounting plates for the pedals on top too. Although I'm currently in the process of swapping some things in and out and may need to incorporate a little bit of velcro to make things fit 😅
You've been so much help, brother! One more question lol - where did you get that big button for the strymon mix knob? Can't find it anywhere @@SamWittek
@@FenderLewis Happy to help man! So the el cap actually already had that knob attached when I bought it from a friend. I have no idea where he got it from haha sorry!
how come the tuner is freaking out if the vibrato comes after ?!
Dude good catch! Should have double checked my signal chain before recording this haha 😅 Must be right before the volume pedal then
Great video man! Just wanted to ask how you are powering all of your pedals while only using a Zuma (which only has 9 available outputs)?
Thanks! I’m daisy chaining one of the power outputs, so it’s split and powering two pedals. Hope that helps!
@@SamWittek Makes total sense! Thank you!
@@SamWittek What is the exact kind of cables you're using to daisy chain?
@@kauaidotwav9363 hmm I don’t remember the exact name but I know it’s an EBS daisy chain cable, pretty sure I bought it from Sweetwater a while ago. Hope that helps!
@@SamWittek Great! Are you using the 18v output too?
When you say you are going stereo into the Iridium, do you mean you have the switch on the "STEREO" selection on the back? Or do you have a splitter cable that you are using?
Yeah I have a splitter cable going stereo out of the BigSky, and stereo in to the Iridium. And I do have that switch set to Stereo
@@SamWittek OK because I was looking into one so I can get my stereo effects from the Walrus Audio D1 delay. Which one did you use?
@Sam Wittek And this video makes me rethink why I went with the D1 instead of the El Capistan like I originally wanted to. Time to sell it. Lol
@@kckrye Here's the one I use: amzn.to/421vJnC
@Sam Wittek added to my cart. Im due for new guitar cables too so I may as well add those. 😅
What do you use as a monitor to create your tones?
I pretty much always monitor through my in-ears. Most of the times that’s through my DAW on my computer but sometimes I’ll monitor through the headphone jack directly from my pedalboard
Thanks for the reply. I’m using Ultimate Ears IEMs straight into the Iridium. It sounds great until I hit a drive pedal. Then it gets super harsh. Not pleasing at all.
Would this pedalboard still work for secular music?
Absolutely! It would work great for lots of different kinds of music. Probably would struggle with heavier genres like metal though, I don't have any heavy distortion effects on the board at the moment.
Is there any utility in running the Iridium if you're already running into quality amps?
Yeah great question, if you already have great amps then the Iridium can be a nice supplemental tool for quiet practicing at home since it has a headphone out. It's really portable too so it's also a good practice tool if you're traveling. The convenience is nice too if you don't want to take your amps somewhere and want to travel lighter.
Is the lick you play at 7:00 from a worship song? If so, what song?@@SamWittek
That lick is from the song Heretic by Gable Price and Friends@@caseydenton3332
Dang. Thanks for introducing me to them. That song rocks!@@SamWittek
For sure! They're one of my favorite bands at the moment. So good!@@caseydenton3332
how much to put that together?
Man good question, this was slowly built over a LONG stretch of time and basically everything was bought used. For most of these I was able to get great deals, mainly from just being patient. If I had to ballpark I'd guess around $1300-ish
not bad@@SamWittek
pitchfork = Capo on 1, got it. lol.
Haha I mean if you look at it that way, you could program it to capo on whatever fret you want 😂
Is this pedalboard all midi? I am just getting into building a worship pedal board, but not sure if I should go midi or not. I hear jt makes a musician's life easier haha.
I'm actually not using any midi at the moment, but some of the pedals like the Lamb, BigSky, and Iridium can accept midi. It can definitely make things easier but I wouldn't say it's necessary!
@SamWittek Is it mainly if I want to record or create my own music on the computer/ software? I don't have any recording equipment, nor do I really have the knowledge on how to do that. I mainly just want to play for church and with friends. My inly concern is that if I do get an opportunity to such equipment, that my rig won't be able to record to the computer. Other than that, then I don't mind doing things manually.
Though Jet pedals and all the rest are pretty darn cool but pricy. I do want some Jet pedals eventually. I'm just trying to make what I have work for the moment for worship. Thank you very much for the video. It was super helpful :)
@@jparty8599 Nah you won't need to use midi in order to record on the computer. For that, all you'll need is an interface. Currently I just go out of my pedalboard into the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, and I record directly into Garageband.
It's also totally ok not to start out with all the "best" gear! There's a lot of amazing gear out there for really low price-points that would be great for playing at church
Pitchfork or POG? I cant decide....
Totally a personal preference thing, both are great. I personally like the Pitch Fork more because you get so many more options with it
Strymon iridium how to use it ?.
I use mine exactly how I'd use an amp! So I have it after all my pedals, and I dial it in similarly to how I'd want my amp to sound
Músic 7:00 ?
The song is Heretic by Gable Price and Friends
Gable Price? noice
Yessir! 🔥
YES HERETIC 🤣🔥🔥🔥🔥
🤘🏻🤘🏻
Did you study music theory?
I did not!
@@SamWittek Is it ok to play to worship band if you dont know how to read music?
@@LegatoTactics I'd say at the very least you'd definitely want to know your basic chords. Every church has different expectations though, and it depends on what role you'd be serving. For instance if you're hoping to play more lead guitar, you'll want to be more familiar with the neck
We spend more time noodling and researching gear to worship with, then we do actually worshipping and seeking God.
Sounds like you need to spend more time with God then, or you're just throwing out a negative statement searching for moral high ground.
Gear is fun and inspiring. If it distracts you from your relationship with God, that's something you need to address in your own life.
If your job is to play guitar at church then you're not going to do a very good job if you don't invest time and money.
@@basicforge Anything can become an idol, even a Christian ministry job.
@@guitarandotherthings6090 Absolutely true, but it's also true that you should put some time and money into doing a good job.
@Carl G Im not saying you shouldnt, its just guitar can become an obsession over God if not careful.
Worship board = an excuse for a needlessly expensive pedal board
