Bloody awesome mate! After designing it I have only done a few test runs myself. I am in the process of making a few design changes at the moment to see if I can make it any better. Any feedback would be welcome. But thank you for doing this video its great to see one of my designs out in the wild... ;-)
I just got back from Oregon where on one of my days there I went to the BLM site on the Sixes River near Port Orford. I only spent a couple of hours but I got a decent amount of rough cons to clean up back at the rental house. This little sluice did a pretty good job as it held dozens of pretty fine gold bits. I printed it just like this with 3 levels in PLA and all three mats were made with TPU. I think for next time I'll print another level for some kind of miner's moss and design a base for it.
Awesome vid bro! That would be ultra handy to clean up your cons and a great idea instead of spending the what is it now $1000 or so for an actual gold cube and it looks like it did the job nearly perfectly! Keep up the good content!
Hi love the gold cube had a 99 to 100% recovery but would have to do it with some real clays from the gold fields but can't wait to see more of Ur content
Thank you for posting! I have a highbanker with about 6''x12" of matting and it generates a lot of concentrates. I also have a 3d printer and it never occurred to me to just print out a clean up sluice! Thanks again and great video!
Thanks for posting! I saw this model (on Thingiverse) and wondered if it was worth printing. There are models for different mats (and silicone molds). Would be interesting to try different mats.
I just came across this video, Awesome!!! I would love one of those, maybe without the printed mats. The 3d printed trays combined with either cut down mats or diy silicone mats would be great. The 510 mini prospecting box. there is a market for these, especially if you can keep your prices down. I know myself and a lot of others on low fixed incomes and are interested in gold panning can't afford some of the equipment like sluices, high bankers, the cube, and a lot of other equipment. Seems these companies make it just keep going higher and higher with their prices, and those on a low fixed income are either being priced out of, or being discouraged for getting into the hobby/activity of gold panning. This could open up the door for a whole group of low income future prospectors. After watching this i had to subscribe to your channel. If I may suggest to you, try printing some other prospecting equipment. Thanks for the awesome video.
Thanks for watching. We had a lot of fun making this. The challenge is just how long it takes to print. It’s cheap, but takes a while. We’ll explore making some other tools for sure. Before we had any equipment we printed a very small stream sluice. It worked, but needed cleaned out often.
Make no mistake, the real cube is superior due to the surface area and design of the mats. This did a surprisingly good job though! Fine gold is the hardest to catch and the real cube does a good job of it.
Use PETG not PLA, PLA wont hold up to the summer heat and everything will sag. I nearly made this mistake before thinking how darn hot it is out in Arizona lol duh lol
@@510prospecting where can I get the plans I have a friend with the resin type printer please help I want one or let me know if you're going to sell it for a donation to you
Still would be great for sampling.now miniature every thing else and get with Mike pun and sale these bad boys.Iwas hoping Mike pun would make different size ones.for back packing and run off motor cycle batteries 12 volt for packing back into them real remote places in a lighter package like this.i would like to see this on finer gold.

Can you send me the base you took your time to make?
Awesome! It’s pretty portable. Hope you enjoyed your time in Oregon.

We still have this little thing. But we have a real gold cube we use for larger cleanups.

Yeah! Cheap and fun
Looks like a fun project. Thanks for sharing
We had a lot of fun with this. Thanks for watching!
What size pump do you use? I'm thinking of printing one of these.
750gph with a valve to fine tune it
That's a pretty cool project! Great video!
Thank you!
great stuff man!
Thank you!
I am definitely gonna have to try this out
It’s a fun project! Good luck!
So cute. Love it❤
Thank you! 😊

It’s a cool project for sure! Thanks for watching!
i don't have ninjaflex filament can i substitute another flexible filament will it work for my mat
Totally!

What a cool idea! 🤯
Thanks that's a good one that flex filament never knew that.
Thanks for watching
Very inventive!
We had fun making it!
What water pump are you using?
750gph 12v
Great video!
Thanks!
Hello, I am following your designs. Is it possible for you to design a mini shaker table? I am waiting for this from you
Yeah, that could be possible. Might be fun to try
Could this be printed with resin?
With a big enough reservoir, probably
I printed one was fun found gold on first try
That’s awesome! Glad to hear it
That thing is sweet... Very handy little device...
Thanks Matt! We had a lot of fun building it. You want it?
@@510prospecting what..!?! That would be awesome.. I could find a good use for it.. are u sure? Looks like it worked pretty good..
Yep! if you get some use out of it, thats great! or let your son's play with it.
Thanks man! That's really thoughtful!
What is the recovery rate compared to the gold cube.
Make no mistake, the real cube is superior due to the surface area and design of the mats. This did a surprisingly good job though! Fine gold is the hardest to catch and the real cube does a good job of it.
How much would you charge for one with like 3 trays?
Are these going to be for sale
They take way too long to print to be worth it. Although I still have the one in this video. Email if interested.
No, not profitable. They take about 70 hours to print. It was fun to make.
How much PLA did u use?
Not as much as you’d think. Maybe quarter to half a roll.
Duuude.... awsome ive got sone on order. Msg for to buy onw
Have fun!
I also thought about a larger gold cube.and how to catch the micro gold the cube is loosing
We run our cons twice. The cube doesn’t loose much.
Use PETG not PLA, PLA wont hold up to the summer heat and everything will sag. I nearly made this mistake before thinking how darn hot it is out in Arizona lol duh lol
Yeah PLA won’t hold up in Arizona. Lol. Good tip!
Should have used the vortex matting
The vortex print had some issue and we decided it wouldn’t have been a good test mat. It is a cool mat though! Thanks for watching
@@510prospecting print that one in pla it will work and not have as many stringers
This would be great to have to run the pay dirt straight from the gold cube.
This could run pay dirt no problem. Small batches of pay would be great!
I'll take one please....$$$$
Lol just remember… Not Gold Cube… lol
Correct! Has some parallels to a gold cube, but it’s not a cube. Haha. Thanks for watching!
Make me one
It took several days to print. Pretty fun project though!
