@prospectingforadventure Great! Let us know. If you get time, stop by our claim. There is a spot that I have been curios about. Maybe you could test it.
@@prospectingforadventure only if you have multiple huge storms or 12 years from now, when the jetty needs to be repaired again. Still some better pockets to be found this time of the year down on section C to the right. Good luck out there.
I brought home some Cape disappointment sand this fall. I have found gold but i use a 30x magnifier to see the gold. It is mentally not as rewarding as i hoped or as you beach prospectors make it out to be. Panning and blue bowl. Quartz , magnetic , iron, peridot, many crystals, sand flea bodies and something silvery colored pieces but i am not sure what they are. I am trying many ways to process it. Yes some of my samples were not great but some exactly as described as being the right stuff. It will last me all winter to keep trying. If i was smart i would have given up a while ago.
I live near a Beach in Oregon and brother I see exactly what you are seeing. What's your best way to extract this beach gold? I see you using a couple of gold cubes so I would assume they work well for this type of deposit. There is a story of two old timers who found their fortune and glory from a beach now called Whiskey Run. They made history and the gold rush was on!
Yes the gold cube is ideal for this type of gold. You aren't supposed to run a pump on the beach in Oregon though. You can gravity feed it in. Check out America's Back Yard Gold on Discovery. I helped run the cube in the Oregon beach segment. Also, check out PNW Prospecting on UA-cam. Gannon set up the gravity feed.
Question on the WDFA. I am at the application process and not sure what to put in some of the fields. I selected mineral prospecting and other than suction dredging. Put my name and other stuff. Single or Multiple private individuals. Then the authorized agent but I wasn't sure, same with property owners sections. Am I in the right spot? Can you assist with some wisdom/knowledge this old man doesn't yet have? I went to Treasure Trove yesterday and purchased some items so I can do some river work now. I know the WDFA is only required for beaches, but I figure, get everything I can now. Looking forward to going out these with some people.
Are you on Facebook? Dan over at Prospectors Treasure Trove should have the info. If not, I'll have a chat with him. This group on Facebook has people that recently got the permit. m.facebook.com/groups/394547981299494/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT Some of the info has changed since I got it. I'll post an update on that group after I figure out the details. Then I'll let Dan know so he can pass info out at the shop.
@@prospectingforadventure Yeah I was there yesterday, but we talked mostly about river stuff. I dropped 4 bills on basic stuff, and some paydirt to practice on. We did discuss the Gold Rush shows and why they didn't show beach mining, but that was about all we talked about that. I think I have submitted requests to join or already joined the groups in FaceBook, but I will check that one. I have a pan, classifier, snuff bottle, scoop, bucket, mini self contained sluice, pump, etc so I am virtually ready. I do need some rubber gear to keep from getting wet and too cold.
@mbraden66 gold rush will have a beach mining episode soon. 😉😉 Well get all HPA details hammered out. Might take a few days. I'm glad you supported Dan's shop with your purchases. He's a friend and a great resource in the PNW.
@@prospectingforadventure Yeah, we talked about you, I let him know that's how I found out about his shop. I had planned on going last week but I thought I might have been coming down with pancreatitis so I didn't go. I only have one classifier, so will probably want on or two more, depending on rock sizes which are the most common. Obviously buckets, picks and other items. I'm hoping the paydirt bag gets my wife and daughter excited about it so they will want to join as well. Of course it means I might have to buy some more stuff, but what else you going to do with credit cards other than run up debt right? Last night I was looking for a battery pack with a 12v output and the ones I found I kept thinking they looked like something I had seen before and I had purchased one in 2020 for a telescope that I haven't had time to set up so repurposing it as a pump battery. I didn't get anything for cleaning bedrock or anything like that. I'd have to find some locations where the rivers have run before that other people haven't found, and that wouldn't be easy.
Thanks for letting him know. I have quite a few bedrock style videos if you want to look into what tools I use. It doesn't take a lot to get started. It's easy to run up the CC being a prospector. Lol
When digging down (at Cape D) I seem to always always hit water at around 3 feet. Do you just work through it? Also, do the black sand layers change after each storm or is it necessary to avoid previous diggings? A few days ago they had signs up saying the park would be closed Sep 24 through March 25.
It might depend on how close to the surf you're digging. Or the tide. We didn't hit any water in our hole. I haven't seen anything about a closure. Maybe it's just for camping or something?
@@prospectingforadventure signs were posted in different places on both sides of road inside park. Park will be closed Sep 2024 through Mar 2025, hopefully its just for camping. I took this picture just after the big storm 2 weeks ago. Campsite B had been evacuated and was closed off, so I thought maybe it was for repairs, just a guess. Guess I can't post a picture.
I'm a rookie in this field, but what do you mean by colors (4 vs 75 colors)? Nice video by the way. and the 25 grams you poured at the end of the video, how many hours would you say it took to get all that?
Hey, doomsday. You could be walking along on a nice sunny day; a rock could fall out of the sky with a bullseye on your head, and you would bleed out on the sidewalk as pedestrians gather to watch your last gasps for air before you die! How do you want to go? Spreading fear or being happy doing something you enjoy? This must be a new tactic from the environmentalists who spread fear of the things they do not understand! You're crazy for sitting in your lazy boy and passing judgment over the things in the world you don't understand and not trying to learn why people love to do the things they do. Have you ever learned to ride a bicycle? Maybe a skateboard? Probably not; you were to comfortable being sheltered under Mama's wing and passing judgment on others just like she did/does! It's sad to see people who have never experienced life and are still afraid of the world as they pass judgement on others because they lacked the ability to explore the world and life itself, and they are now 70 or 80 years old waiting for the reaper and still passing judgment for their inability to get a grasp on life. It's beyond sad the fears a parent passes on to their children to be repeated again and again!

No, the government is just lonely and wants you to stop by for a visit and keep them company! Otherwise, they have to think up some new laws, rules, and regulations, and it gets harder when you thought you disclosed them all!

Nice set up guys...all gold adds up my friend!
It sure does!
Awesome! That was a fun day! Looking forward to the next!
I'm hoping to see a lot more color the next time! That was a beautiful day though!
Dueling Gold Cubes...I love it! Subbed ya. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for joining. The Cape is always fun.
Cool video! Very informative, inspirational, and love the edits! Also, I love the drink holder on the setup 😂 genius!!!
I was secretly waiting for someone to notice the drink holder. 🤣 Those little comforts make a big difference. Lol Thank you!
Another nicely edited video! Your screened auto feed is a nice touch! Maybe someday we could plan a trip to the beach! See you soon!
Can't wait for our spring trip! I'm going down soon to do a little scouting.

@timberlinegoldprospecting2358 yeah I want to float my dredge around and try a few spots. Might need to cut a new trail.
One of my favorite campgrounds.
Absolutely!
Great Video! There are some beaches here in Massachusetts that produce gold and it was great to see your system so I will know what to look for.
Yup, anywhere with thick black sand, deserves a test. Thanks for the compliment and watching!
Still looks good, do miss the old days where we were fetching .50 gram a bucket. Keep the dream alive!
Hopefully we'll see that again!

So like 56 buckets = 1 ounce in the "Old days"?
Wild location. Good luck searching for gold.
The black sand makes it difficult !
