I'm a Utah native so I have to say I absolutely adore Lagoon. Some of that could probably be attributed from the nostalgia I get from this park because I've been going there since I was a kid, but I did want to mention something about the colloquially called "white roller coaster". You mentioned that this classic coaster had two different colors but the interesting thing is that those "newer parts" were built because the ride actually caught ON FIRE in 1956. XD Keep in mind this park was founded in 1886 so the technology was severely lacking. Anyway, LOVE this park, if anyone is ever in Utah it is definitely worth checking out.
Worked at lagoon in 89 as a ride op. 14:16 (Tilt-A-Whirl) -- > Hope you are still going and having fun. looks like they updated the park. YA! stay away from wooded coasters when you get 50 Years. :)
This is an amusement park not a theme park, there is a difference. Disneyland is a theme park because it’s ‘Disney themed’, parks like lagoon don’t have a theme that’s why they’re called amusement parks
I absolutely loved Lagoon when I visited on Memorial Day weekend! They have a great collection of rides. One thing I also noticed is how well presented the park is. Lots of foliage and gardens, everything has a fresh coat of paint, and the theming is done up pretty well in spots. They also had some crazy fast operations during my visit. There was a whole lot of standing and waiting to dispatch so the other train was far enough to not trigger the block system. The park was insanely packed that day, but the longest I waited was 30 minutes for wicked.
It's also interesting to note that they don't have extra seat belts on the major rides. We talked with a supervisor we met at the park and he said that the park specifically doesn't want seatbelts on the rides. Even their rapids ride doesn't have seatbelts.
I'm a Utahn who has been feeling down recently with all the quarantine. Feeling nostolgic for Lagoon, and I really want to go, but I don't know when that will be possible. On a whim I searched UA-cam to see if anyone had made a review like this and found your channel. It really brightened my day and made me feel like I was walking through the park with you. Going into the video, I was a little weary because a lot of people talk about Lagoon like it should be compared to 6 Flags or other huge parks, when in reality it's just not on that scale as a small local place. It definitely has its thrilling and big rides, and I love it for what it is. Thanks for seeing what we love about it here, and not comparing it to other parks with more money, recourses, and traffic. Thanks again for this. I hope you see this comment :)
Thanks for your review of LAGOON, this Park one of my favorite Them Parks. We have season Passport Passes, and we really like the fact that you can bring your Bud Lights and Beer into the park, but it has to be in a can no glass bottles are allowed! Thanks for your review and I'm going to watch all your other videos too. Cheers.
As a native Utahn Lagoon was my first introduction into theme parks and I have a ton of memories there, sadly I moved away before a lot of the newer more impressive rides were built but Colossus, Flying Aces and Jet Star 2 will always be some of my favorites
If you're a carnival coaster fan, this is your park. Buy a discounted ticket at Costco in SLC before visiting. Not a fan of the single rider policy, but I did get to ride Cannibal twice. For real beer, visit a state run liquor store. The one I always visit is at 205 W. 400 S. Utah has a beer called Uinta Double Detour, it's ok for an IPA, but they also have the major craft beers, each is purchased as a single. This park is worth visiting especially since Cannibal made it on the GTA "The List" and you'll want to check that ride off your bucket list. If you visit in late March when the park opens, you can go skiing one day at Brighton (locals resort), then visit Lagoon to ride the coasters. How can this be done? It's 30 degrees in the mountains because of the elevation change, whereas Lagoon is at the city level and it will be 50 degrees in March.
There's a full-on German Beer Garden in the park now, so you don't need to bring your own in anymore. Also Utah has TONS of great local beer. You're selling the place (and your tastebuds) WAY short by not doing a bit more exploration on that front. There's like 6-7 major craft breweries in the immediate SLC area alone.
@@geovanizamora4030 one. There are only two confirmed deaths at lagoon in history, and the roller coaster has only killed one person, and it was technically mostly their fault.
I live 30 miles away from Lagoon so I bought a 2017 Season Pass and Parking Pass totaling $180. You can visit the Park anytime you want during business hours and ride the rides as much as you want, excluding the ones that cost money per ride (Go-Karts, Sky Coaster and Catapult). You can easily go on every ride within 3 hours or less, but make sure you start with Terror Ride because the line is always long.
I absolutely LIVE for Samurai!!! I was so upset they shut it down for that summer! Made my friend go, had her eyes shut the whole time. We stopped and I said “we’re done” and she opens her eyes right when we began spinning crazily!
Lagoon is so awesome, cannibal is unlike anything I’ve ever been on in its class. It even plays the suspense by playing drum music that gets louder as you approach the top
The reason that rocket only has two rides is because when the right opened, S&S had planned to develop a ride for the third tower. That’s why there is area for a queue and other ride equipment over there. Plans fell through, and lagoon at S&S have not had a great relationship sense. Hopefully they will add something there, but for now blast off and re-entry are pretty great
The third tower serves as a counterweight to bowing torque produced by the motion of the carriage! You can easily demonstrate why it is needed using a ball and string. Drape the ball over a rigid cylinder and pull down fast so that the ball moves up. Notice how the ball does not move up in a straight line? Same physics at play here! Without the support tower, the ride would bend over time.
The third tower on rocket, if you look closely there is a ladar. And at the top is a bunch of micanicle stuff, it is so you can get up there if there is a problem
Just stumbled across this a couple of months late. SO with you on the Paratrooper & Air Race comments... just can't do the twirl 'n' hurl rides anymore. I'll go for any coaster, but flat rides are quickly becoming not my thing. FYI, that Hydro Luge ride (the "dry" water slide) is in the process of being removed. Lots of expansion & rearranging going on this off-season getting ready for a pretty cool bit of growth the next couple of years.
Samurai is literally never open anymore. And the other water ride cliffhanger by the mouse and spider is never EVER open I swear. Always ALWAYS under maintenance.
I'm going to lagoon because I'm in Safety Patrol!! I'm going with My friends and we can leave our teacher! We can do whatever we want! Love Academy Park ♥♥
Ok i live in utah and have a season pass and i go here like every week can confirm this is not always that busy! go on a weekday and the cannibal line is like 10 maybe less min
You didn't go to the picnic area! a beautiful place was you can bring your outdoor food, have a picnic and relax as you enjoy mother nature all around you. Also, keep an eye out for peacocks they like to walk around the park
I really like and love Lagoon Park, but his comment about only could get Bud Light beer in Utah. Is Super Funny. Take care and Cheers. Oh I preffer The home breweded beer at Lagoon in the Bier Garden.
Terroride is the best I remember going on it with my grandma I also remover the really loud buzz and the jump scare I loved the frightmars too. THE BAT IS SO GOOD DONT SAY OTHERWISE BOMBORA IS REALLY GOOD TOO! the spider entrance also sprays water! My grandma bought the lagoon history book at a random store when we were shopping and got it for $5.99!
You forgot the Sky Coaster, the race way.... - Sky coaster.... reverse catapult.... with no cage, and one of your group gets to pull the release cord... to drop.... it is fun. - Race Way.... think Go Carts but with bigger stock like cars.
Only went here a few times on a summer camp trip to Utah damn it looks like there’s some rides they never took me on 😒 I do want to come back one day but I live clear in California and I’m crushed to see the water park gone for good they room me to that one was so much fun 😔
I wish that would happen, that is so rare... there's only been one recorded incident of that happening in 2014... I think it's on UA-cam actually. But that's the only time that it's happened since it opened as far as we know...

I’m going in a couple days on the 1st of July I’m so excited! I’m hitting my 25th credit on Colossus and 20th on Cannibal! I almost went last year but we ended not going, but now that my uncle is getting married we are heading down to Utah and California after Utah.
Find a spot and go ride a few rides and then have a picnic snack and then jump into Lagoona Beach. Sometimes we would stay for the first performances of the evening ko
and in Switzerland you can drink your beer where ever you want even on the playground ;-) and you can drink with 16 years legal.. Gosh USA, the land of freedom :-P
When I was a little kid on the little boat ride, when the ride ended mother’s came into get their little kids and this super drunk guy started yelling that he would help too. He hopped the fence stepped into the little river, slipped, banged his head on the concrete, and started bleeding. Meanwhile like 5 year old kids and their mothers watched in utter horror. Luckily one of the people near by was a cop so he helped with the drunkard. But all in all a very interest experience for a small child.
good review. terroride was selling so much stuff, because it is a very old haunted house ride and has been re done. if you go again, you should check it out. I may have asked this already, but do you plan any of you plan on sending someone to frightmares, because it's pretty well done and would love to see your thoughts on. they may have no scare zones, and if you do your resarch, the park atmosphere used to be way better, but their mazes are pretty good, and they even have scare ratings to tell you which is scariest. rating 1 to 5. and, they have some neat shows, and probably the best thing I have seen at a haunt ever, it was a indoor interactive experience called seance. you sit in a well themed room as amazing actors try to connect you with a ghost. reppy music plays as the ghost hunters tell you the story. then, once the lights go out, the best special effects I have seen are going and it is intense and mind blowing. anyway, sorry for the long talk, just wondering if you ever want to head down.
At this point in time we don’t plan on sending anyone to Lagoon for their haunt event. With being located on the east coast, SLC isn’t the easiest place to get to
The jet Star 2 at lagoon is actually the ORIGINAL jet star that was presented at the worlds fair!
I'm a Utah native so I have to say I absolutely adore Lagoon. Same
Nah. They've been rebuilding part of the "White" Roller Coaster each year almost since it was built. That didn't start with the fire.
This theme park is a staple of my childhood, me and my sister use to go almost 3 times a week. We lived close enough to ride bikes to it after school!
I used to live at least 5 minutes away

I heard Lagoon has opened up for a limited number of people. Do you plan on going anytime soon?
hey... March 22nd wink wink 😉
i grew up going to lagoon every summer! It's definitely much harder to go now that I'm not in utah but lagoon will always be a favorite of mine.
I go every summer! I love it there!
Ok... I've been going to Lagoon for pretty much my whole life... and I had no idea that Pioneer Village had a JAIL!! I mean what the heck!!
Major Minor I’ve seen it once and now I can’t find it
Me too! I had no idea!

Don't let Puffs cuteness fool you, that little 3 mph dragon is a meat eating killer!
I think it's the only ride with a confirmed kill in the park. So yeah, don't turn your back on it.
I’ll add to mention the braking system at the end... ouch!
Angry the Clown I’m pretty sure Roller Coaster has 3 kills. Google it

they just opened a new area dedicated to Germany it's a biergarten (🍻 beer is served here) and frightmares for Halloween is cool to

I told you years ago that they don't allow single riders in the front/last row of any coaster OR Jet Star 2
On the jet star I kinda almost fell of because my brother wasn’t holding on to me and the belt wasn’t even on us but it was worth it 🤣
is so crazy im gonna be working there next year 2022

ThemeParkJunky51290 come on over
They have beaver tails? I go there all the time and have never seen those
