I’m an intermediate player and have checked out a lot of UA-cam content and studied jazz privately for years.., and for some reason I can’t quite articulate I think this is my new favorite channel! There is some freshness to the approach which is rejuvenating!! Love this!!
Dude, this is a really great lesson. There is so much presented here, and in the most basic and easy to comprehend manner. Maybe not for first time beginners, but your whole "feel and hear and know" emphasis is right on.
I play over fifty-years Guitar . I have buy all Jazz learning Books and see many Tutorials ,but this was the best Info Tipp,i knew it,but now i do this as the best Way to Play Melodic Lines, thank you.......
Thank you for not starting the videos “Hey, what’s up” 👍🏻 Brilliant lesson - given me some great advice - particularly the “be aware of the actual notes, not just the pattern” 🙏🏻
Dude, you are the best at saying the like, share, subscribe, and comment. It cracks me up every time. BTW you are one of the best I have seen at UA-cam teaching jazz stuff! I hope you keep making videos because just like me I think a ton of people love them. Grrrreat channel. Un abrazo mijo!
Rotem you have the most amazing way of describing things and Im hooked on everything Rotem now so Im like hiding my phone under the bedsheets at night so my Mrs doesn't wake up at 1am because I can't get enough. Even though its difficult you make it fun and even though I still don't know what Im doing my playing is more melodic and structured thanks to you man. I'm telling everyone I know about you cos they are missing out otherwise. I have hit the notification bell and want to Thank You for giving me such joy. Next stop Patreon! Ok am a pro jazz guitarist , gave played with award winning jazzbands and worked on celebrity cruises years ago(.your buds great .unlike many other jazz tutors online, who I can't watch for long.
Beautiful lesson, man! Loved the video you did with Paul Davids, as well. I've been wanting to get into playing jazz for ages now, but for someone who's theory is lacking a bit and who mostly plays by ear, most jazz lessons can be a bit intimidating. Even though your method of teaching is a bit more abstract than others, I finally understand some elements that I've been struggling with for a long time. Thank you so much and keep the content coming. I plucked subscribe, as requested ;)
You are awesome love 💖 you what you do on your Chanel. As beginner I didn't really know what type of music to play. Now with you I KNOW THANK YOU I SUBSCRIBED
Merci pour ce cours très pédagogique et tous les cours que tu postes sur UA-cam. Ton jeu a beaucoup de caractère. J'adore le morceau rustic heart. Une bonne journée de Montpellier sud France.
Ive been watching you since that video you did with paul davids, but tbh I prefer to wach you. you are an excelent teacher and also good looking, kinda like an elf but jazzier. keep rockin, or jazzin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was wondering if learning bass would help to target chord tones because, I hear bass lines for example at 13:30 . Thank you for all your sharings. Sorry for m'y English, I'm french.

@@RotemSivanGuitar Thanks. At 4.25 of the video, I've heard that "slightly jazzy sound" you demonstrate in another guitar course. It made me think it must be a pretty straight forward way to teach these concepts. Thanks again.
I like that he is not just being the same jazz guy on the internet. He has a character, thanks for the lesson man
Thanks Rifki 🧚♀️
Great lessons!! You have more talent in your little finger than I do in my entire body!

You explain things wonderfully clearly 😊
The cool thing is that you can play any note in any order in the scale you are playing and make it work with any of the chords in that scale.
This is a great tip! Thank you!

How come for the b half diminished at 1:52 you're not playing the flatted 5th? Sorry if this is a dumb question I'm new to learning notes and what not

Good lesson . Wish there was tab or notation .
Don't mind me, im not a musician, just using this vid as incredibly soothing ASMR
A whispering voice strengtened w a minor7th cord is the triumph of psychologic warfer to hit the like button.
And old gem from Rotem
I thought this was going to be a video about the melodic minor.
Yeah boi

@@RotemSivanGuitar haha! sorry you sound just like him
Great lesson by the way
It's not " pluck that like button"???( pluck means to pull. ) its " smash or hit that like button"
I mean it’s an ok lesson but definitely not for beginners, in case someone might think of it as a shortcut.
Truth
'yo yo' really ? plonck
Lolz
chromatic scale ... all the options there.,, & you're only a half tone away from being right ,, hey 50 / 50 % odds.
Truth.
not if you are Pat Metheny :)
Lol
Rotem is one of the best jazz guitar teachers on the internet. But that "Yo, yo" is a bit unexpected and a bit too much.
Too narcistic to be able to teach.
Oh wow. Lol
Its not pluck...( stop drinking moonshine during vids
