How come you don't sink your line and dip your tip (Ooh er missus 🤣) when you're float fishing Westy lad? Do you not find it helps you connect with bites quicker especially when fishing lighter gear on maggots for example? Tight Lines Brethren Red 🎣☕
😂 I do sometimes Ian ! Depends how far away I’m fishing 🎣 just laziness really, float isn’t my preferred method, just something I dabble in through the winter or on small venues 👌🏻👍🏻 ⛑️
Congratulations Ian! We have hit 5000 views in 6 days which is crazy. Your name has been randomly selected for the beanie, please pop me an email at - Westysangling@gmail.com to claim it. 🎉🪖
Proper pleasure fishing for me. Lots of different fish on different methods, perfect day. Looks a nice fishery. Liked and shared to real life fishing on Facebook. 👍
If you go again when it's warmer few places on maggies when the lily's come out to fish around them for the carp or in the shallow bay is always good for the carp too. I tend to fish on the float there but from time to time I switch over to the method feeder. Method feeder always better in the summer. Some really good carp in there, tench, barbel, chubb too. Best baits to use on there are cheese paste, sweetcorn, prawns, mussels on the float If you and your dad get out there over the summer, be good to have a fishing session with you both. Tight lines🎣🎣🎣
Finally got round to watching the new upload, and then I find out your doing a giveaway! Hopefully I'll be on the bank Sunday. Thanks for the great content mate 👍
Watching your style and knowledge you would make a great match angler couple things I would do different. keep up your great work and as always tight lines.
@WestysAngling no problem buddy.. watched loads of different angling videos but these are far best ones especially the content and the tips you provide buddy.
It is so funny watching you describing how wonderful it it is & spring is on it's way with the great sunrise while I am in London freezing cold watching the snow fall. I have taken delivery of the same feeders your using, I can't wait to give them a go. I will next be fishing at Watford Piscators in Herts near where I live, it a great fishing club. I really enjoy your videos, I am a beginner but a keen 70 year old, enjoy.
Hahaha ! I may have been a little off with my spring prediction Barry 😂 snowing up this way also. They aren’t bad those feeders ! I hope you are enjoying it! Great time to start fishing 🎣
I flit between Wrightington and Crook Hall when I'm not on the rivers. Maggie's pond is very popular during the warmer months and can get quite busy. The first pond over the road is well known for its crucians and is popular with pole anglers. I fished it over Christmas and caught chub, perch and a bonus carp. The far pond over the road is much quieter and the fishing can be prolific as the fish get hungry. Some nice carp in it up 7lb. Brown gold fish and skimmers in it too.
Brilliant video love watching your videos as I'm just starting to learn how to use method feeder...as ive always used ledger on banded rig but seeing how you and your dad so close is amazing 🎣❤️
Glad you like the videos James and are picking up a couple of things ! Makes them worth while doing 🎣👍🏻 I’m very lucky to have such a good relationship with the old man 👴🏻 also lucky we share fishing as an interest 🐟🎣
@WestysAngling my uncle taught me everything apart from feeder fishing before he past last year so I've been watching your videos and they have taught me a lot so I'd like to thank you and your dad
I wish I had same relationship with my dad, but hey my mrs like to go fishing with me and also my little one 11 months girl is going with us so I consider myself as lucky guy ❤
Haven't been fishing for about 15 years since I was a kid and looking forward to getting back in to it so I can gp with my son. Always fished on pole but I am about to buy my first ever rod and start on some maggot feeder. Your videos are giving me a good idea how to do this, much appreciated it 👍
I would start of on the method feeder with a tiny pink wafter, will catch anything a maggot feeder would and actually is an easier more effective technique! Thanks Jay tight lines buddy 👍🏻🎣
Another good vid mate Crook hall is a great fishery Not been on it for a while now though ... Some nice carp in there .. Close to the island on pole .. Nice couple who own it aswell
Mate of mine had a barbel out of there ... but I'm.going back 2 years .... We were fishing the other side though ... I had some decent bream out the margin that day on paste ... Great set up that for feeder fishing ... I love it when I just pleasure fish on tip rods like your doing ... Most of my fishing is on pole in matches ..

Great video westy 👍 would like to see you do anouther 80p bait video with the bread crumbs and sweetcorn believe it or not bec of that video it inspired me to try method feeder fishing out for the first time with breadcrumbs and look at me now😂😂😂 with a 20lb pb common on that same method. None of that would of been able to do without that video so Thankyou and keep up the videos even if you blank tight lines westy 🙂
That’s absolutely awesome to hear Art! 20lb is a cracking fish 🎣👌🏻 well done mate. I will definitely be doing a method feeder fishing with cheap baits video as it warms up 👌🏻👍🏻
Looks so tranquilic there and I love method feeding it’s one of the best and most effective methods of fishing in my opinion, I’ve done all things needed to do to enter the giveaway!

Hi ya m8 if you're struggling to see the float tip in the sun try changing the tip of the float from orange to black, this tip helped me a lot when I used to float fish in the summer back in the day 😜😜
Looks a decent place will give it a try recovering from a slip disc and at the moment so slowly getting back into it roll on summer hopefully see you on the bank would be good to meet you get a social sorted im sure many others would be interested
Very hard for me to arrange a social as I work 6 days a week including weekends! However it’s something I will certainly look into for the future 👍🏻👌🏻🎣 get well soon and take care !

Hi Westie I'm still waiting for the pink luncheon meat wafters to arrive so not tried them yet. I go fishing with my dad too he keeps telling me.he ain't taking me again ha ha. We have decided to try for the bigger carp this year so maybe you could do a video on a big carp venue. Oh yes I bought the same tackle box your dad bought its great.
Haha I’m sure my Dad feels like that sometimes too 😂 I’m definitely intrigued over those pink wafters. When it warms up I will do a pink wafter test comparing different ones 🎣 I’m booked on at cudmore next weekend so hopefully there will be a big carp video to follow. There are carp and catfish videos on the channel but you have to look right back to last year ! Lots of tips there 👌🏻👍🏻🎣
I will have a look back at them. Il have to look up cudmore but probably a distance from where I live. There are quite a few venues near me for bigger carp so a good choice.
First time watching and subscribed, live in Bolton, brilliant video, love the no nonsense setup, what is the chair make and model and does it come with the bag? What rod attachments do you use? Great video
Excellent video as always Westy. The method is my favourite way of fishing. How coincidental I was going to make a comment on how I can buy one of your beanie hats and you came out with the comp. If I am the lucky winner I would love one in Green, but if I’m not how much and how can I get one. Cheers buddy.
Awesome video as always. Question.. I’ve just joined a club water thats mostly fished for double figures carp and big bream, i fish with a budget set up korum phase1 feeder rod on bank sticks, (will buy a feeder chair soon) I really want to fish two rods but don’t know if to get the same set up again and fish two feeder rods on tip or get a carp and alarm rod and still fish method feeders like you do on the carp rod with the scope to try pva bags and stuff in the future what do you think? 2x feeder rods Or feeder rod and carp rod Thanks Scott
Nothing wrong with having minimalistic kit Mate ! I would say an alarm set up is more flexible, don’t be scared of putting your feeder rods on a rod pod either. Just because it’s not ‘conventional’ doesn’t mean you can’t. I Hebrew had success on single hookbaits, pva mesh and method feeder for bigger carp and bream. I think my next video will be helpful for you on this kind of fishing 👍🏻👌🏻 due for realise next Tuesday !
Hi mate cracking video as always 👍🏻 quick question would you recommend that feeder chair you Use ? I’ve been looking at getting something very similar if not the exact same one. Cheers
Westy I'm currently using the Fleabay feeders that you always bang on about 👌 But what size mould are you using with them please? I'm struggling to fit the feeders into mine so put the feedon by hand 🤦 Cheers pal 🎣🎣
Fleabay 😂😂😂 I use the small red Preston innovations banjo mould ! Doesn’t fit them perfectly but definitely well though 👍🏻 my dad just squeezes his in by hand. I honestly don’t think it matters 🎣 how have you found them so far ?
@@WestysAngling I think they're fantastic for the money👌 just received x10 today for £11.99 even though I've already got a dozen🤦🤣 For the money they are excellent & you even get a longer stem for distance👌 So far so good 🎣
There’s a place called drummersdale lane that has two lakes with fairly small fish but one lake is good for skimmers and crucians and the other is good to catch a few carp anywhere from 2-5 average with some going to 10 and a rumoured 20 but you should never trust the rumours the smaller lake is lower than the other but it’s worth a try and it’s cheap I think £5 for the day regardless of how many rods you use
I haven’t tried them ! I know people who use them with plenty of success though. Probably gives them a bit more visibility and attention. I will try adding them to my mix when it warms up a touch 👌🏻👍🏻🎣
@@WestysAngling don’t bother m8, they’re rubbish. I tried all of them, nothing? They smell awful. Just to add, don’t set your tip so aggressive, I have fished for over 50 years and a lot of my fishing now is method. Those feeders are no good m8, I had them and a lot of casts, they landed wrong way up.get Preston ics. Just trying to help m 8
Thanks for commenting and for the advice Paul but I find an aggressive bend hooks more fish. Also how can you be sure they are landing the wrong way up? they are made to the same dimensions as the Preston ones, me and the old man have been using them 12 months and not had an issue! Tight lines 🎣
Out of interest I just tried them in a bucket filled with water in the garage Paul the feeder landed right way up 15/15 times throwing it in different ways 😂
Liked , subscribed and shared the video with few friends! I’m not a big fan of the float fishing anymore but I’m so hooked with the method feeder, I’m gonna try same wafters that you using hope they bring me some bigger carps ❤ Btw do you have a video how you set up your chair with the feeder arm etc and if not would you make one whenever you have time ❤️ Thanks for the chance to win one of this awesome merch , I would Love to win the black one ❤ good luck and waiting for next video
I must admit float fishing isn’t my preferred way of fishing, though it has its uses ! Pink washed out wafters will 100% catch you more fish. No unfortunately I don’t but it’s a fairly straight forward. I have gone through it in a little more detail in older videos. Good luck it’s completely random so everyone has a chance ! 🧢
Good question! I do sometimes if I want to fish accurately at distance ! However most of the time I’m just happy to be there or there abouts. Also on the off chance you hook a big carp your almost certain to get broke if you are clipped up, then it means un-clipping every time you cast in. More effort than the gain you get from it in my opinion 👌🏻🎣
Sorry I didn't find the video very interesting! Why didn't you try fishing the margins on the float with bread flake??? You could even put bread flake on the feeder in the margins. Also get some sliced ham for the summer to use in the margins on the float and watch it go!!
Always something you can do/ could do differently when fishing Dave. It sounds like you are a lot more knowledgeable than me when it comes to fishing. The video is just so people can get an idea of the fishery and if they want to fish here than the techniques used. Tight lines and all the best sir 👌🏻🎣

Fleabay 😂😂😂 I use the small red Preston innovations banjo mould ! Doesn’t fit them perfectly but definitely well though 👍🏻 my dad just squeezes his in by hand. I honestly don’t think it matters 🎣 how have you found them so far ?
@@WestysAngling I think they're fantastic for the money👌 just received x10 today for £11.99 even though I've already got a dozen🤦🤣
For the money they are excellent & you even get a longer stem for distance👌
So far so good 🎣
There’s a place called drummersdale lane that has two lakes with fairly small fish but one lake is good for skimmers and crucians and the other is good to catch a few carp anywhere from 2-5 average with some going to 10 and a rumoured 20 but you should never trust the rumours the smaller lake is lower than the other but it’s worth a try and it’s cheap I think £5 for the day regardless of how many rods you use
It’s been recommended to me Harry I think it’s on the list! Thanks for the advice buddy, tight lines ! 🎣
Not been able to go out for a few weeks due to odd things and now covid of which have passed to my wife!
It’s definitely going round again ! Hope you both get well soon !
Have u tried the fjuka baits I've bin on the 2 in 1 micros and had a lot of success with them and adding some red yellow ones with my fishery micros
@@WestysAngling all i can say is , thats why preston stopped making them. Look up Joe Carass on method feeders
Liked , subscribed and shared the video with few friends! I’m not a big fan of the float fishing anymore but I’m so hooked with the method feeder, I’m gonna try same wafters that you using hope they bring me some bigger carps ❤
Btw do you have a video how you set up your chair with the feeder arm etc and if not would you make one whenever you have time ❤️
Thanks for the chance to win one of this awesome merch , I would
Love to win the black one ❤ good luck and waiting for next video
I must admit float fishing isn’t my preferred way of fishing, though it has its uses ! Pink washed out wafters will 100% catch you more fish.
No unfortunately I don’t but it’s a fairly straight forward. I have gone through it in a little more detail in older videos.
Good luck it’s completely random so everyone has a chance ! 🧢
@@WestysAngling appreciate the answer ✌️
Where abouts is the fishery westy
Just into Ormskirk Ray!
Ok cheers pal.
What rod do you use for method feeding
Shimano speedmaster 9-11ft 🎣🎣
How come ya never clip up
Good question!
Method fishing rules !
🐠👍
👍
Pity you can't use a lager bait . Drink lager and put on weight like a hippo !
