From Puerto Rico 🇵🇷, Thank You CBS News Bay Area for this respectful 6 minutes segment dedicated to the passing of our beloved Orlando, Blessings from San Juan.
So much grace has left this earth with the passing of these two giants. They absolutely deserve the honors observed by the Giants organization and this city.
And now there are no more Giants greats left from the golden era. Orlando last night, Willie from a week ago, McCovey in 2018, and Bobby way back in 2003. They’re all gone now. 😢
Juan Marichal
Rest in peace, Orlando Cepada 1937-2024 🙏
I was sent to live in Puerto Rico as a kid, so that I could get a good education, learn the language, and get out of the cold big City for a few years. One day, my 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Cepeda, told the class that we had a special visitor. It was her cousin, Orlando Cepeda. I felt like I was standing in front of a giant tree. He was kind and very humble.
So sorry to hear this. Back in the 80s, Orlando lived on my mail route in Burbank, CA. He was a very nice man. RIP.
Damn son....two Giants greats😢
I know
Hey 86, i am 87 Was great he reached great old age,,,RIP Hall of Famer
Oh, Bob! So sorry to hear of the passing of your uncle Orlando. He was such a great player and a wonderful man. He will be missed😢
My father passed on 6/23/24 and was also from 1937 sad times
Rest in peace Orlando , the baseball world has lost another great ⚾Thoughts and prayers for the families 🌹
Rest in Peace, Baby Bull.❤⚾
I'm sorry for your loss, and my condolences go out to all of you.
May Orlando Cepeda rest in peace, and may all of you, his family, and his friends be healed and comforted.
I still remember how upset I was when the Giants traded him to the Cardinals for Ray Sadeci
'62 was NOT his only World Series. He played in '67 and '68 World Series with Cardinals
Wow! Dying at such a young age.
RIP ⚾ legend 😔
What a class act. I met him in the 80's at a San Jose Giants game just watching the game my uncle sent me over to get his autograph. I didn't know who the man was, but he gave me an autograph and was cool about even though I probably interrupted the game being a dumb kid 😂 RIP Mr. Cepeda
My brother follows baseball better than I do, he pointed out to me that the San Francisco Giants in the early 1960s had a slew of emerging latin players that included Orlando Cepeda, Juan Marichal and brothers Felipe, Matty and Jesus Alou.
Afro latin player
Anybody else reading the comments before watching the video?
RIP Cepeda.🙏🇵🇷
They’re “stunned” yet he was 86 years old.
I think it has more to do with having lost Willie Mays just 10 days ago.

What a rough couple of weeks for Giants fans. First Mays now Cepeda. In 2018 it was McCovey. What's next is Marichal going to pass soon. All the great San Francisco Giants we are losing.
Rest in Peace,Orlando Cepeda
Rip Orlando Manuel Pennes Cepeda, you will be missed
Why is this stunning?
Because its been only 10 days since Willie Mays died.
RIP A hell of a player. Should be in the HOF
HE IS IN THE HALL OF FAME INDUCTED IN 1999 , I MET HIM IN 94 AT A CARD SIGNING AT GOLDEN GATE FIELDS !!! A PROUD MOMENT FOR HIM AND MYSELF BEING A FELLOW PUERTO RICAN !!!!
@antoniohosino145 Thanks. I was looking at this program and at that time, they were saying he wasn't in the HOF yet. That program must have been made before 1999.
😢
McCovey, Mays, and Cepeda are all in heaven
