1) Maintain lean body mass as you age. Eat healthy calories. Nutrient dense smoothies. Let animal products go and replace with whole plant sources. 2) Chickpeas, quinoa, spelt, teff, chia seeds, mushrooms, hemp seeds, wild rice. 3) Correct hormonal imbalance; avoid plastics, avoid using birth control pills and correct low testosterone. 4) Train like an athlete, but don’t overdo. Start with Bodyweight exercises. Slowly build strength and endurance under medical supervision and your own intuition.
So I’ve been watching Dr. Price for about a month now. I started eating mostly plants more than a week ago. When I say that I already feel more alive!!! It’s crazy. I can’t imagine how I will feel after a month. What I’m eating: fruits, vegetables, nuts, including oatmeal, avocados, chickpeas, etc. I also cut out sugar, but I do have honey in my tea. I drank senna leaf tea to cleanse my system. I really do feel so much better! This man is saving life!!!
@@Getittogether.3897 Hello! I do not put any liquid. Just a little butter, monk fruit sweetener, some dried berries and a scoop of peanut butter on the side. Its tasty and keep me from feeling hungry. You have to start somewhere!
@@altheamckenzie5954 You can do it, one day at a time. Even if you start with small changes, just start! I didn’t realize how horrible I was feeling until I made changes. Now I’m feeling great!
Thank you for your service, sister. I have just discovered Dr. Bobby. I’m blown away. Need to make some serious changes. -An Army Veteran and Proud American Teacher ❤️🇺🇸
@@jovanmonroe461 plants have all the amino acids necessary to provide the body with adequate protein, it just requires some variety. For example eating lentils, rice, and nuts, rather than just lentils alone, provides all the amino acids the body needs for protein construction. Also, the variety doesn't have to be consumed all in one meal.
I was a Plant Based Vegan, and told myself, I'm going back to eating meat for the protein for Muscle, in my observation, I see NOO benefit in going back, I just ended up gaining the weight I lost without adding any Muscle. I believe my Problem the 1st time gaining muscle on Plantbased wasnt the diet itself, I was doing a TON of CARDIO, Im talking 2 Hr cardio sessions daily, I fasted alot, and Ate Less trying to get to low BF% So I was small but lost muscle. This go away, Im gunna eat more, do wayyyyyy less cardio and focus primarily on Strength Training to keep and gain muscle at all cost. I want too take on the "Grazing" mindset that large animals have. And see if that makes the Difference. The fact youre 220 on plantbased and can keep it, is incredible. Thank You Brother!
Went plant based was healthiest in my life , shredded , lost 100lbs then pandemic came i ate meat again no gym was open in canada because of the pandemic and gained it back plus injuries .. going back plant based again . I should have never stopped
Both plant based diet and meat diet can build muscle. I have tried plant based died for 6 years and currently I am back to meat. One thing I can tell you is that on meat & poultry diet my strength, energy and endurance levels are significantly better. This however might not be the case for everyone. I believe the best diet is the one that allows you to thrive at your best. But whether you eat meat or not, consume any food in moderation, get plenty of rest and exercise and avoid highly packed snacks and junk foods. Oh and let's not forget to meditate, reflect or practice gratitude always!
Don’t forget to meditate about how your life choices affect other people and animals then your presumably small gains from eating animal flesh might not be that important
My chiropractor randomly asked me if I had "heard of Dr. Bobby Price" once she found out I eat an exclusively plant-based diet. I hadn't, but I'm here now and I'm so glad. It's encouraging to see someone so intelligent with a platform talking about the importance of resistance training for muscle, not just eating obnoxious amounts of animal protein multiple times per day. It's also mind-blowing how real this protein myth seems to be. I've been eating 180-200 g of plant protein for three years, but I just reduced this by almost half. Training sessions have felt amazing, I have better Whoop recovery scores, I've hit several PRs in the gym in just two weeks, and I'm sleeping better.
Dr. Bobby can you help menopausal women with nutrition? It's a really hard change. Im 70 now and feel and look better than I did at 50 following your advice! ❤Losing estrogen challenges our bone health muscle mass moods hair and nails, digestion cognition you name it. I felt awful. Can you do a video on this for my nurse colleagues and all women who suffer during this upsetting time? Thank you for all you do.
Agree women between 38-58 needs a video or series on the change...the mood swings related to hormonal changes, the brain fog, the sweating, and belly fat that just came out of nowhere.
I was encouraged to abandon my vegan lifestyle and add poultry to my diet in order to build muscle. Thank you so much! I feel confident that I can build muscle on a plant based diet after watching this video.
I had half my bowel removed when I was two after being kicked in the stomach by one of our horses. My body grew it all back and now at 41 I am very regular! Love your videos. Plants for the win!
Dr. Price you are wonderful. I started watching last year or so. You taught me so much about vegetarians. I have not eaten red Meat for 42 years but I was eating fish and chicken. I decided February 20th to fast for Health reasons. I had HB. I weighed 194 pounds. I do the water, juicing, herbal teas, and nutrient dense smoothies. I have a personal trainer who help me bulld muscle, I do weight training. I walk 3 miles on a Daily basis. I’m now working on the flabby skin on my arms. I am 73. I am still fasting. I am in the sun everyday. I also do squats. My energy is thru the roof. I weighed 194 i am now 155. My doctor did blood work, urine. BP. Every is good. He Said keep doing healthy diet and exercise. Thank you Dr. Bobby. I brought your book and I want to visit your farm.
@@MagdalenaShakti thank you. because of my success, we are having a workshop titled "Health is our Wealth". I now weigh 148 pounds. I weighed myself this morning; I received so many requests regarding my weight loss. I am seeing my doctor this Friday as a follow-up. I feel fantastic. Today I was in the gym, did pullups, squats, and lifted weights. I also sat in the sun and walked in the park. Today I brought outfits I have never worn and still has the tag. I got to my trainer. I wore it today for the first time and I am not hungry. I have no cravings.
@@mathK-7 yes, I love eggs and avocado and sourdough bread. But I have not eaten any solid food since 2/20/24. I intend to eat it when I return to eating solid food.
This has been MOST helpful. At 72 and a lifetime of eating badly, sitting waaaaay too much the past 3 years, malnutrition during that time as well - going vegan 2 years ago... blah, blah, blah... I REFUSE to go on like this. So, your video is a shot in the arm of health-mindedness. I THANK YOU! MUCH Love & RESPECT... Deborah
Lord I walk and walk but my eating is still that of foods I grew up on in the 60"s. I am so much better than a year ago, but truly ready to eat less and move toward plant base. I pray for a loving partner. I do 99% of everything alone. THANK YOU THANK YOU
Dr. Bobby you as speaking TRUTH. As 45 I started my fitness journey. So, many obstacles kept falling in my way. I’m not going to even go into detail because it would turn into a book. Having said that believe me I kept getting injuries; getting sick; losing weight; gaining more weight back just over and over. Well now I’m 59 and about 18 months ago I decided I’m going to listen to my body. I decided only to do calisthenics and yoga. Of course I knew nutrition had to be my foundation and of course that’s been a roller coaster as well. But I say all this to say. It’s been about 18 months and I can feel and see the changes in my body’s ability to bounce back from injuries. So I know you’re speaking the truth. I just recently ordered your Detox system and your book Vegucation not Medication. You are really inspiring me to keep going. Thank you so very much
Hello Dr. Bobby, This video is right on time. Not just for vegans but for us over fifty people who are losing muscle. I have been working on building muscle for a few weeks. I so appreciate your information because it provides tools for us to eat better and to take care of our bodies. So fantastic. Thank you 😊
Dr. Bobby, my 83 spin class partner told me about you... and I have not stopped listening to our wisdom. I am 60 and love exercising. Plant based is something I've not stay consistent with, but after listening to your testimony.. I am all in now. Thank you for supplying us with wisdom, insight and practical ways to stay healthy and LIVE... Blessings to you and you keep on teaching.
I'm 60 I have had high blood pressure for 20 years,I got on your plant base diet within a month my BP is down from 145/80 to a constant 120/70 ,sometimes 116 /65-70,thank you Dr Price
Thanks for making more enlighten in my diet. I have been doing Zen meditation as a way of life and practice martial arts. I have almost no bad habits or vices. I'm a life long student of the world. And I'm going to continue improving my diet and other aspects of my life. Peace
Definitely motivated me to try this lifestyle . Starting today I’m on my journey thank u so much . I’m 6’4 280 right now I’ll check back in 30 days from now . THANK YOU 🙏🏿
This video is great for those of us with lots of muscle mass who want to be plant based and don't want to lose our muscles. Muscles are key for good health and also give such a great health advantage. Thanks!❤
No meat and No dairy DIETS. BUT No one knows the long term side effects on our grand children. There are no vegetarians or vegans in the Scriptures. They all tend sheep and cattle.
Yes! Thank you! Have been a healthy plant-based eater for 8 years, but recently hired a trainer at the gym, and have been preached at a lot about protein and "you can't get all the essential amino acids on your diet." Appreciate having the language to defend my choices - which I will never change!
I’m an advocate of eating beef & other animal products; however, I think both sides of this coin want intellectual supremacy. I understand that essential aminos & the most anabolic can be attained Vegan. But you might agree the vegan needs a bit more mindfulness and educated to optimize protein muscle synthesis. The meat eater can hit aminos by accident and needs to be more educated and mindful in their relationship with saturated animal fats. Keep moving forward!
Excellent video! I'm in the process of changing from a meat to a plant-based diet. 67 years old, 12% body fat. Thank you, Dr, Price, I've learned so much from you about healthy living.
This was a great lesson Doc. I jist finished my detox and I have been working out in the pool, and in the gym on the bike and the elliptical. I have just began to add a little weight training to my routine to build muscle as I lose the weight. I feel great and my adult children are watching my progress. They have begun to make changes of their own. Thanj you for being the voice crying out in the darkness leading us to the light. As always , you and your family are in my prayers.
Love this video... I went whole foods plant base because of you; however, I went down to 100lb. I struggle with putting on wait. I'm doing most of what you listed. Now, I need to add some things from your protein list and pray that it will make the difference. Thanks for all the knowledge you share. Please do a part two on this subject.
Man I can’t thank you enough, I wish I could meet you and talk to you in person, you taught me a lot, and I’m only a 19 year old American African from sac and at this point I feel I have more knowledge than most if not all the people that surround me in my life which is a miracle considering how close I was to wasting everything I had before I could even understand what it was. I got a chance to open my eyes after I got in a accident and lost a piece of my intestine specifically a piece of my cecum, appendix, and a percentage of my ileum I believe (Would be nice to see that regenerate lol) but even after the accident it wasn’t enough to completely knock me back in focus and realization, I guess I had to keep stepping through the fire to completely get to the other side and eventually I did now I’m here with full awareness and see a chance at a wise and healthy future and you sharing your knowledge and experience is a great part of that so thank you for being an amazing and kind person and I hope one day we can cross paths eventually.
As a 28yr old vegetarian (since I was a kid) I even learned a lot form this video. I’m also someone who considers myself to be athletic (play a lot of basketball and lift weight, etc) I would say I only knew about %60 of what Dr was saying Very great information and I’m also a producir of big body with a plant based life style 5’10” around 190lbs All plant based (and junk food too 😅)
I have done a 21 days whole food vegan challenge with a health coach from Germany recently. After only 5 days,I felt so robust like an Elephant 😮OMG.I never felt like that in my life before. The nature comes with all what we need.Since then, meat and dairies smell like poop when I come across them🤣lol Thank you Dr Bobby🎉
I used to be a vegetarian, and it takes more effort to building muscle on a vegetarian or vegan diet, but once you realize the basics it's not that difficult. You just need to get comfortable with learning amino acid profiles of various foods.
Thank you so much been plant based for 5 years a lot of downfalls with my lupus but I refuse to give up ,I was wondering how to gain muscle & the lord have answer my prayer, you’re the man & keep up the good work!💪🏾💯
I just found your videos a few days ago. I have been watching them. You got me pumped to change the way I eat I have been wanting to change. My mother was diabetic, my brother diabetic. I have aunt and cousins who have lost their limbs and lives to DMII, my mother did, too. Relatives with HTN, had massive heart attacks. No body has died from natural causes. You take all guess work out of how and where to start. Given us the science behind it: explaining in detail that is truly understandable and you truly living this lifestyle! Thank you for keeping us properly informed! I will be buying the books!
The muscle argument works best w the guerilla analogy I've found. It's nice to have a Dr to break things down. A decade ago I had to read everything to validate what was acidic and ultimately my body started telling me what was no bueno. Thank You.
Good information still eat chicken and fish no fried anything,no fast food lots of veggies and fruit intermittent fasting, I feel good continue to educate us about our health and doing the videos that you do the contents are priceless thank you
I love the cow, elephant, gorilla, rhino examples. I like that. Asking academically, not to argue, how do we explain lions, wolves and other strong animals that do eat meat? Any thoughts why some animals do and others don’t yet they both thrive?
Brother it’s simple a lion's intestines are short because they must digest the meat quickly before it putrefies in their digestive tract and kills them.
I appreciate the information. Currently, I'm in the second day of my 28-day Herbal Detox tea regimen. When I complete the detox, I am eagerly anticipating adopting a healthier lifestyle with a focus on clean eating and a balanced diet. So, this video is definitely needed!
I could listen to you forever, I’m so happy to learn how to be my best health possible. I take notes, and I apply what I learned, thank you so much please never stop. I have your book vegetation over medication and I’m presently doing the 28day detox. Ok on my6th day and feeling great. At 66 hrs old I appreciate you more than words can express. Thank you so very much ❤❤❤
So been waiting on a video like this. Thank you so much for this information. It's very helpful. I have drastically cut out fast food, soda and snacking on chips candy etc.... and been lifting weights for 30-45 mins 3-4 times a week and doing cardio at least 1 time a week. Thinking about adding one more cardio day and I'm having great results but still want to continue to improve my nutrition and cutting out meat is what my body is telling me to do. I appreciate you! Thanks!
I will definitely pay attention to this video. I am terribly underweight. I am on whole food plant based diet, but can’t gain weight. I am 5’ 3” and weigh 92 pounds and over 60 years old.
Dr. Price, you've given me great motivation to move towards becoming vegan. I'm currently under treatment for multiple myeloma for the last 2 years, and looking for alternative ways to improve my health. Listening to another video you posted about cancer loving sugar really stopped me in my tracks. But it starts with the mind. I'm beginning to make better nutrition decisions and have lost 13 lbs in 2 1/2 months. Very motivating!! Thank you for the common sense delivery on how to make these changes🙏🏿💪🏿!!
Dr. Price, I have list 1/2 my body weight in 1 1/2 plus more. Ive loss a lot of collagen and muscle. Know i have the hanging skin. Im not vegan or any of those other vegan, paleo etc.. however, i have not had meat, fish, cheese, rice, bread, potatoes, sugar in years. I guess the health scare stopped me from eating. I was afraid to eat. Yes, ive had health challenges but i feel better! Know, i want to look better. Just tone and rebuild some of what i lost. I've gone from 306 to 137. My goal was 150. Im still on this journey just did more research and alkaline eating along with blood type eating. It's not easy yes confusing but I'm eating. Listening to you, I don't want to lose or gain, i just want to strengthen and tone. Im not a big eater. I dont eat out i make my food so i know whats in it. The weight came off so fast, i started getting concerned. My wbc was very low. Being told to eat fish and meat which my blood type requires but i still had not and of course it led to protein deficiency. (doctors).. I'm ready to make that change for healthy eating and routine. My meals are small meals and sometimes i dontfeel like eating but know i have to. Im my college weight and i love it! But, without the collagen and muscle, the look is anorexic. How do you rebuild collagen being plant base?
Whole food plantbased, gradually introducing it and used to it joyfully and with gratitude because its abundance and not restriction or deprivation but the opposite.
the body prioritizes collagen production,it never stops, and if supply for the body is the proper nutrition to make healthy collagen, the age-related decline isn’t as notable or severe... straightforward:vitamin C. Collagen is everywhere in the body, but no need to consume it straight as it is to boost internal terrain. When vitamin C enters the body’s cells,it hydroxylates(adds hydrogen and oxygen)to two amino acids:proline and lysine. This forms a precursor molecule called pro-collagen that is the packaged and modified into collagen outside of the cell. This is one of the reasons why vitamin C is so important for skin, immunity, and overall health.Aactually helps make up 18 types of collagen found in the body. When consumed,it targets skin needing a collagen production boost while helping preserve existing collagen from damage,” Any high quality, plant and organic based source of vitamin C is an excellent collagen precursor, and right at the collagen frontier in skincare. There are many nutrients that support collagen production so it's more complicated than just listing out foods because it comes down to having the correct amino acids present.” It turns out that vitamin C doesn’t work alone. The body needs a sufficient supply of proline, glycine, and lysine to synthesize collagen.Glycine and proline are considered “conditional”amino acids, which means that the body is generally able to produce them internally.Glycine-rich foods include banana, beans, cabbage, cauliflower, cucumber, kale, kiwi, pumpkin..Proline-rich foods include buckwheat sprouts asparagus, lentils, cucumber, cabbage, chives, tempeh, watercress, and white mustard seeds. Then there is lysine, another amino acid that is required for collagen synthesis.Well balanced whole food plantbased diet is enough-simply boost vitamin C consumption gradually and make sure that diet is rich in fruits, berries, vegetables, seeds, nuts, legumes.(buckwheat can be sprouted and dressing with hemp hearts and dill greens, green lentils can be sprouted as well as chickpeas and mungbeans and turt into dips or also dressing with herbs and spices, hemp or pumpkin seeds paste called urbech)Zinc is a cofactor in collagen production, meaning it activates the proteins responsible for making collagen.sources of zinc are predominantly seeds, nuts, and beans...Eating plants high in lysine and arginine will help spur on collagen production. So getting both of these amino acids from diet is a good start. Technically there is no official recommended dosage specifically for lysine or arginine, but recent research suggests older adults may need to consume around 1.2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight.Organic whole plant sources first-body will absorb these better, and get a whole bunch of other nutrients too.Proline and hydroxyproline are amino acids that make up 23%of collagen, and have been found to be precursors to sustaining collagen production. Indeed, they play a key role in the stability of collagen. One of the prominent features of antioxidants is ability to stop inflammation and stabilize collagen. It does so by preventing free radical damage, which inhibits enzymes from clinging to collagen.
Copper, manganese, organosulfur from certain plants(different resources contain different types of OSC and these compounds may have different health benefits. Various OSC/nutraceuticals are claimed to have strong antioxidant activity)just have to make sure to get all the vitamins and minerals that needed(through eating lots of fresh whole plant foods)and bodie do the rest.Studies have shown that consuming chlorophyll increases the precursor to collagen(procollagen)in the skin Lycopene also helps protect the skin and add with collagen synthesis, tomatoes contain a variety of antioxidants(including vitamin C),which protect the skin at a cellular level.Pumpkin seeds are one of the richest plant sources of zinc, which as mentioned above, acts as a cofactor for collagen synthesis.Zinc also helps speed up wound healing, and maintain healthy cell membranes, which makes zinc a must-have nutrient for skin health.
A few names you can research pertaining to plant-based muscle: 1) Bill Pearl the 1950's champion body builder 2) Johnny "Iceman" Walker the 7 time 1980's arm wrestling champion 3) Herschel Walker & Arian Foster both NFL running backs were vegan for years 4) Patrik Baboumian record setting power lifter 5) Venus Williams tennis champion etc.
You are so right about meat which come from animals. They get a lot of bad stuff in what they eat or are fed. I always ate one meal a day untiil my husband retired. Even growing up I never wanted breakfast and my Grandmother wanted me to eat breakfast. I usually don't want anything before maybe 1-2 pm. I have a protein shake everyday and my one snack is high protein. I don't drink sodas, juice, eat dairy or drink milk except for almond milk. Growing up I did not eat sweets except for my Grandmother's plain cake and her ice cream she made and believe me this was not all of the time. I love mushrooms and it is like having meat to me. Thank you for a great video Dr. Price. God bless.
I really appreciate the level of detail you provide, making everything logical and digestible for us commoners. I am 8.5 years vegan (did it for the animals, stayed for the health gains and decreased environmental impact) so I've heard most of this before but it was really well delivered and helps cement my understanding. It's very inspiring to find doctors who understand how diet and exercise can heal the body instead of greedily pushing drugs and medical procedures. Over the years I've eliminated nearly all of my family's exposure to dietary plastics, xeno-estrogens, and chemical pesticides/fertilizers because physical/mental/environmental health is very important to us. My husband is highly active with 5% body fat and it's been a struggle for him to eat enough calories from healthy, whole food plant-based sources without turning to oils, sugars and other processed foods (which drives me crazy). We almost exclusively eat at home (for health and financial reasons) and I cook 70% from scratch, including a weekly rotating variety of grains, legumes and soy/sesame milk, and I'm always on the hunt for ideas to help him gain muscle. He's very picky but I've finally gotten him to enjoy quinoa and smoothies (practicing in the kitchen is finally paying off!), so I'm hoping this helps keep him fueled.
7/4/23. Time 8:43 am. Just want to say thank you, Dr. Price. This is truly a blessing for me. Especially on my build muscle journey. I was lifting weights and then came across Broley gains another young brother who is honest about callesthetics. But just want to say thank you for your honesty and telling us about muscle build. I thought I had to lift weights. And I was wondering why I wasn't getting any muscle build. Please share more and thank you so much. I can go on and on. You do not know you are truly a blessing. I am a 56 year looking in her 30s. Woman, but still need to build muscle, don't want to be a weight , lifter looking female, LOL.. But just toned truly once again thank you.
Thanks for debunking the protein myths! It was also great to hear about the wild rice in lieu of thinking eating brown rice was truly making a difference. I am so grateful for this information!
Just ordered on Amazon the recipe book. It is so frustrating for me to stop eating process foods. I stopped eating beef, pork, chicken several years ago. 56, 200Lbs!!! Overweight. I have struggled for the past five years with plant based junk and struggling with sugary foods and starches. I am lost regarding healthy and tasty recipes for all three meals I need to consume to loose the weight, strengthen body/tone etc. thank you. I will keep you posted.
This was so good!! I’m plant based and I started training 5 days a week 3 weeks ago and I’ve been stressing trying to figure out how to get more protein in. So this was a major help. I’m wondering which foods will help me get more of the aminos in to absorb the plant proteins?
So glad you spoke on hormonal imbalance. I've been suffering from that for a decade now. And I say struggling because it's cause me to have periods that have lasted for 3 mos, and I had to be hospitalized for 5 days to receive a blood transfusion. After changing, doctors and my new doctor suggested plant based eating. It changed my life. No other doctor even asked me about my normal diet. They just wanted to prescribe me birth control, which made the bleeding worse, by the way, but they wouldn't listen to me. So that doctor retired 😢. Now it's back to the old birth control talk again. I refuse to keep harming myself. So, other than my wellness visits for my insurance, I stopped seeing traditional doctors. And currently looking for a holistic doctor in my area.
Thanks, Doc! I had 1-3 on lock since the 30-day detox, but number 4 had me looking goofy because I couldn't figure out why I kept getting gout in my feet. It was my cookware that my roommates cook meat in!! So, now I can finally work out like an athlete after buying new cookware! LET'S GOOO!💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
I had to get use to the texture of wild rice. I’ve now come to LOVE it though, especially with the benefits it has. This is all SO helpful thanks for the tips!
I been doing it incorrectly. Trainer taught me one way but this helps me witth my WHY? Why is my body doing wat it doing while taking so much out of my diet as a diabetic. Thanks Dr. B for the clarity! BIG BLESSINGS!!!
Love it! I am an alkaline vegan who, normally, is 6-2 1/2 220. After switching up I went all the way down to 167!!!!! I'm building back up now. It was good to hear what you said about the foods with calories because I frequent most of them although on my first attempt at Lion's Mane (bought from a farm online), I couldn't get it tasting like everyone describes. Thanks again!
Once again Bobby Price another very informative and truthful video. Thanks for your research and your past health challenges to bring on this platform.
I am 74 been thinking all my life in my younger years was in the gym . Now since I am older my muscles are sagging . Was a house cleaner always had muscle . Have had a lot of trauma , and stress , lost my sister and my son . Which flipped me . I only weight 115. Eat healthy
A plant-based diet has numerous benefits! Some of the most significant advantages include: 1. *Reduced risk of chronic diseases*: Plant-based diets have been shown to lower the risk of heart disease, stroke, and cancer. 2. *Weight management*: Plant-based diets tend to be high in fiber and low in saturated fat, making it easier to maintain a healthy weight. 3. *Improved gut health*: A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains promotes a healthy gut microbiome. 4. *Lower environmental impact*: Animal agriculture is a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, so a plant-based diet can help reduce your carbon footprint. 5. *Cost-effective*: Plant-based protein sources like beans, lentils, and tofu tend to be more affordable than meat. 6. *Increased fiber intake*: Plant-based diets are typically high in fiber, which can help promote digestive health and satiety. 7. *Lower risk of foodborne illnesses*: Plant-based diets tend to have a lower risk of foodborne illnesses like salmonella and E. coli. 8. *Improved nutrient intake*: Plant-based diets are often rich in essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Remember, it's important to ensure you're getting enough protein, vitamin B12, and iron on a plant-based diet.
I like that suggestion you made as to when interacting with someone being angry: "Oh, I'm sorry. I see that you are angry. I'm gonna let you have it today and I'm gonna enjoy mine " (and walk out of the way) We need to be prepared for these types of situations and ask ourselves, as you wisely suggest: "is this worth my expensive peace?" I don't think so... "Life isn't happening to you. Life is happening FOR you". Thank you very much for your great advice 🌻🌿
Hey Dr. Price, First of all I want to thank you for being a part of my plant based journey. This and your other videos have help me understand my new journey more. I appreciate you sharing your life experience with us. So proud of you and your accomplishments. Love your products/online store..Please continue to share, believe me we are listening. Ok..I am 57 years young, 5"11 about 262 pounds. I have lost about 12 pounds since starting my journey in May 2023. I'm happy with the results however, I don't really want to lose weight just build muscles and strength. This video have help me understand just what I need to do..I love smoothies anyway, so will be making more protein smooties. My question, which I did not hear you mention, if you did I apologize but is beans like lentils, navy beans, black eyed peas also good to build muscles?..Or will it cause harm to me. The reason I ask is I know beans are high in starch too and may cause high acid or mucus in my system???..What are your thoughts or advice..Also, is your Wellness Center up and running now?
@@nats948 I see it lol. Thanks for the reply. I’ll add oats to my smoothie, and consume more beans. I typically do everything else already but I don’t do the smoothie twice per day. I’ll try this and let you know how it goes. Thanks
Dr. Price, I am 69, and would like to know how I can increase my testosterone level? My height is 6 ft 2 in and I weigh 175 pounds. My objective is to put on 10 to 20 pounds of muscles. It’s Inspiring to learn from an African-American male doctor, and entrepreneur who is providing so much comprehensive health information. Thanks for being there doing what you’re doing. I’m going to look for one of your books to purchase today.
New Sub here! Great video. I went through the same thing with leaning out but not having the knowledge of how to put on muscle on a plant based diet. Now I’m more knowledgeable and on my way to building that lean muscle. Thanks again for the video!
Thank you for the info. Helpful, informative. What’s your take on the eat right for your blood type diet? i.e,chick peas =good, high quality protein, but some sources have it as no good for individuals with B blood.
Thanks so much Dr Price. I have been on this health journey for a while, but a year ago I went to 90/10 plant base. I needed this video because I wasn't getting the results I was hoping by training like an athletic. I took time off and started thinking what I was doing when I ate mostly meat. I literally came up with all 4 points you said Mostly increasing my healthy calorie intake and incorporating plant based protein sources. Now, I'm trying to think of recipes. This let me know to research but trust my knowledge. I've been following you for a while now. I love the book, and I've order from the website often. The detox is "nasty" (😂 but I've gotten use to it) but I keep it and use it at leaat twice a year. It really cleanse. Continue teaching ❤ the world 🌎. I'm listening.
How much protein do you typically aim for plant base wise? I understood the amino acid explanation but my biggest question is the amount of protein needed. He did say increas caaloric intake but aren’t we protein deficient if we rely on nuts and seeds only?
I know you're very busy, but it would be awesome if you did a vlog style video, showing a day in the life where you hit the gym for some resistance training, as well as the meals you eat that day.
I've been trying to get him to cook some of his recipes on video and take us shopping with him. Dr. Bobby you can have these types of conversations with us while you are cooking and making your smoothies.😊 I'm just saying...😁
I appreciate the connection between diet, hormone balance & exercise....always WFPL & athlete, started acquiring stomach fat (now I can tie it to menopause). Good stuff-thanks!
When you talked about Estrogen and how it makes your body put on weight. That was a Haa light bulb moment. When I took the birth control pill my weight went up and I could not understand it I hardly ate anything because I'm always watching my weight and working out. The same thing happened when I took the birth control injection. It was worse because it completely stopped my periods. So I came off those Hormones because I never felt right.. I just did not feel like myself. For years now no extra hormones and I am good. I'm fine and healthy and slim and fit. I feel good. I have been whole food plant base for 10 years now and everything is doing great. Thank you for reminding me what a great choice I made. ❣️
Excellent video Dr Price. I’m 245 lbs and trying to get back down to around 200 give or take and I love plant based foods but I’ve been eating meats but plan on replacing the meats with more vegetables. Thank you 🙏🏾
So far I think this is all relative and not the same fit for everyone. It's a case by case basis. I went plant based lowcarb, that control my chlosterol and glucose but I lost too much muscle, I had to go back to fish twice a week. Any advice you can give me? Thanks
Thank you
Thank you 💛
Thank you!
Thank you
This is incredibly helpful! Thank you.
I've been plant based for 8 years now. So true. I'm 38, super healthy, strong and super lean. It works.
I am trying to break into the routine
Just stared also. What do u put in your oatmeal? Far as liquid
Bro
@@Getittogether.3897 Hello! I do not put any liquid. Just a little butter, monk fruit sweetener, some dried berries and a scoop of peanut butter on the side. Its tasty and keep me from feeling hungry. You have to start somewhere!
@@altheamckenzie5954 You can do it, one day at a time. Even if you start with small changes, just start! I didn’t realize how horrible I was feeling until I made changes. Now I’m feeling great!

Thank you for your service. Healing vibes to you
Thank you for your service, sister. I have just discovered Dr. Bobby.
I’m blown away. Need to make some serious changes.

Loved “it’s not that we need protein, we need amino acids to build protein”🙏🏾🙌🏾 thank you for this!
Actually, we do need protein. It's just incomplete proteins if we don't eat animals.
Complete non sense. All aminoacids are made by plants. No animal can produce protein.
@@jovanmonroe461that’s exactly what he said, please educate yourself and learn to read in between the lines
So right!
Brother ive been stuck here for two years. Im 6'3" and have lost 40 pounds im 150. This video is a life saver
Yes strength training will bring your muscles back and peas are the highest protein veggies I know of.
@@smallpackage8360I just subscribed to your channel because of your smile!
Don’t forget to meditate about how your life choices affect other people and animals then your presumably small gains from eating animal flesh might not be that important
i am the exact opposite
come back in 10 years and tell us

Took the words right out of my mind. I couldn't have said better. Thanks for sharing this.
Lord I walk and walk but my eating is still that of foods I grew up on in the 60"s. I am so much better than a year ago, but truly ready to eat less and move toward plant base. I pray for a loving partner. I do 99% of everything alone. THANK YOU THANK YOU
You can do it. Forget the past and think of your future with your new hubby. ❤❤
I'm a loving partner

This video is great for those of us with lots of muscle mass who want to be plant based and don't want to lose our muscles. Muscles are key for good health and also give such a great health advantage. Thanks!❤
Absolutely amazing! Makes COMPLETE sense when you ask “do the animals eat meat?”
No meat and No dairy DIETS. BUT No one knows the long term side effects on our grand children.
There are no vegetarians or vegans in the Scriptures. They all tend sheep and cattle.
Animals are not humans. God made man in His image.
Are you stupid?
Yes!

18:49 the four ways to build muscles with plants
this is becoming my favorite channel. The way you explain it , it is easy to grasp. Thankyou
I love the cow, elephant, gorilla, rhino examples. I like that. Asking academically, not to argue, how do we explain lions, wolves and other strong animals that do eat meat? Any thoughts why some animals do and others don’t yet they both thrive?
Yes wolves are strong and lions are in terms of us and some other animals but just them 2 animals aline are stronger in packs
Look at the way the animals chew their food though. Lions & wolves mouths chomp down…humans chew differently.
If you look it up, gorillas produce their own protein. We don't. That's the difference.
Brother it’s simple a lion's intestines are short because they must digest the meat quickly before it putrefies in their digestive tract and kills them.
There system is different digestion is different ment for raw food
This video is appreciated, especially from a deeply melanated man. Much respect to you. Thank you

Thank you Dr Bobby.
Dr. Price,
I have list 1/2 my body weight in 1 1/2 plus more.
There are many nutrients that support collagen production so it's more complicated than just listing out foods because it comes down to having the correct amino acids present.”
It turns out that vitamin C doesn’t work alone.
A few names you can research pertaining to plant-based muscle:
1) Bill Pearl the 1950's champion body builder
2) Johnny "Iceman" Walker the 7 time 1980's arm wrestling champion
3) Herschel Walker & Arian Foster both NFL running backs were vegan for years
4) Patrik Baboumian record setting power lifter
5) Venus Williams tennis champion
etc.
Herschel was never a vegan. He only ate 1 big meal at night and didn't lift weights.
You forgot Clarence Kennedy who is also vegan
Watch "The Game Changers" it is about weight lifters that are vegan.
Price. God bless.
Your knowledge and delivery is very good.
Been looking ALL over for this information!

Thanks for debunking the protein myths! It was also great to hear about the wild rice in lieu of thinking eating brown rice was truly making a difference. I am so grateful for this information!
Wat wild rice is good? Looking for brands. Thanks

Saw this late...
You like sugar eat more FRUITS especially 🍉 🍌 🍎 🍊 and 🍇
This was so good!! I’m plant based and I started training 5 days a week 3 weeks ago and I’ve been stressing trying to figure out how to get more protein in. So this was a major help. I’m wondering which foods will help me get more of the aminos in to absorb the plant proteins?
Just Subed! Great info. Thanks!!
Great source of knowledge and information.
Thank you so much for all the information you share. Blessings to you.
“Throws out everything in the fridge and cabinets”
lol I’m starting Fresh ! Thank you !!!!
I’m excited to start this journey

Thank You Great information 😊
A plant-based diet has numerous benefits! Some of the most significant advantages include:
@@nats948 Hi, please what food are called whole base plant, Thank you
@@nats948 Got it. Thanks for the info. What is the smoothie and bean quantity like for you, I cup, 2 cups, 6 cups per day? Please advise. Thanks

Thank you for this.
This low key the best video ever explaining what a protein is. And how to build muscle on plant based diet. Thanks doc
I know you're very busy, but it would be awesome if you did a vlog style video, showing a day in the life where you hit the gym for some resistance training, as well as the meals you eat that day.
I've been trying to get him to cook some of his recipes on video and take us shopping with him.
Dr. Bobby you can have these types of conversations with us while you are cooking and making your smoothies.😊
I'm just saying...😁
@@adrianehill8291 that's a good idea. Let's hope he listens 🤞🏿
Can you tag him that would be great?!!!
I just asked for this on another video. Should’ve known Doc would come through!
I appreciate the connection between diet, hormone balance & exercise....always WFPL & athlete, started acquiring stomach fat (now I can tie it to menopause). Good stuff-thanks!
That menopause is a beast!!
❣️
you would love Yahki Awakened. He talks about all of this.
Thanks
Eternal thanks Dr. Price. You have helped me and my Queen tremendously. We are currently doing your detox! One love!

You always make a lotta sense, doc! You are amazing! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
