Wife and I got to know him in the late 1960s. He was one of the nicest persons I have ever met. We both were singers and Lee invited us to several of his concerts and to the parties held for him afterwards. He would insist on accompanying us on the piano to show us off to the people who were there to see him. Over the 10 or so years we knew him it was always evident how much he cared for others and encouraged them. Still have many autographed albums, photos and notes of encouragement. Like all of us he had his weak areas, but the genuine love he showed to others outshined the weak issues. God bless him. I know he had faith in the LORD and trusted in His Mercy so I believe Lee is now a new man with even more joy than he had here on earth.
Beautiful. I agree with you. He was a true "Borrowed Angel" I wish I could have met him. I love him so much. IDC about his personal life. That was his business but I love him anyways. Thank God for allowing us to borrow Lee. He was the epitome of a true performer. He loved all of his fans. His sweet smile could light up a room. May he rest in peace now. We'll all be seeing you soon in heaven, and thanks for the memories sweet Liberace.
Just finished watching the movie, Misery, and Liberace sang this beautiful song in the end - a true performer, ahead of his time - RIP Lee - cheers from Canada
I loved Liberace!~ Great performer...great man! My father enjoyed this man somuch...this brings back memories of my Dad Dominick.....whatever his personal life was it was of no business of mine....this man offered the world great music and loads of fun and smiles!
Kitsch even in his day, a superb confident pianist and a showman to his toes. We didn't see a lot of him on UK TV but you did remember him when you did. I think of him now and then with great fondness. :)
I was a kid when he was on TV. Now I’m 75 and can admire him for his courage to be who he was, and of course for his talent and showmanship. Here’s to you, Liberace! 🍻
I was also a kid during his TV shows. Now I really appreciate that he was who he was at a time when it was forbidden for men to be flamboyant. Of course, his talent enabled him to strut!
Lee was the perfect entertainer. He lived to perform. I was blessed to see him in 1976 at the Nugget in sparks Nv. I left in tears. I know he's playing in the stars. Thankyou Lee
Wow, 5 years late but that's crazy! I live in Sparks and know exactly where that is. Seems like a weird observation but Sparks never gets mentioned so it's cool to see a comment about it!
Saw him in NYC at the Radio City Music Hall. I was high as a kite when I walked out of there - no drugs or alcohol involved. He made the entire audience feel *so* good. He really did have us all eating out of the palm of his hand. Amazing showman.
I keep putting this on comments page cos I want Lee s fans to know behind the candelabra film is not the true story film called behind the music is the true story of Lee s life
Thankyou for sharing , i just cant for gen my mothers smile and yet her tears as she listened to this Great Performer and pianista Liberace ! Thankyou!
Happy 94th Birthday Lee - 16th May. Will always miss you - but never forget you and the pleasure you gave to millions. We raise a glass of champagne to celebrate your special day.
*-* THE ACTOR RAUL JULIA USED TO SING THIS SONG TO ME OVER THE PHONE WHEN WE COULDN'T SEE ONE ANOTHER. WE HAD A GREAT SEVEN YEARS TOGETHER AND THIS SONG BRINGS BACK SO MANY GOOD TIMES OVER THE PHONE. WHAT A WONDERFUL SONG TO REMEMBER SOMEONE.
After I saw Behind the candelabra movie, sorry to say I've never heard of him before, but after that movie, I've been absolutely fascinated by him =) I can't stop watching him, what a charming man =)
The microphone at that extreme right side of the artist's body might be uncomfortable to sing to; sore neck ? . Elton John has a microphone in front of him so that he sings and plays looking straight ahead, there is a camera that gets the front-on view of that artist, though. . o0o
I hated this song because of him and ending his show everytime with this song. Of course he was gay and i have a hard time likiing gays. It's not that he was gay but don't shove it in my face. But when I heard Judy Collins do it on her album Judith. i loved it and listened to other versions and came to love this song. Just not by him
He denied he was gay all his life, so don't be so quick to believe Scott Thorson, because there is no proof. So what if he's gay anyway, he was one of the greatest showmen who ever lived and an awesome pianist.
He never shoved anything in anyone's face. My God who are you to judge him. He didn't come out bc he didn't want to disappoint his fans. He was ashamed of it. Besides it's his business what goes on behind closed doors. He was the epitome of a performer and a true genius. I wish I could have met him. A truly beautiful soul that we should be thankful we got to have him here. God blessed us with Lee Liberace. May he rest in peace now. He was a true Borrowed Angel.
I never appreciated Lee growing up. He was always the man of jokes, clothes, candelabra, piano. I knew he played a very good piano but, never saw what people saw in him. Now, at 71, the blinders are off. This man was the ultimate entertainer. I sure enjoy the videos but, boy, what I wouldn't give to have seen him years ago. My apologies to Mr Liberace.

I watched his shows with my grandmother. Now my eyes are leaking. RIP, both of you.
This is my favorite Liberace song. I first heard it in Misery 1990.
I was a kid when he was on TV. Now I’m 75 and can admire him for his courage to be who he was, and of course for his talent and showmanship. Here’s to you, Liberace! 🍻

Always loved him- I knew he was of greatness even when I was only a child in the 70s
Honestly the best rendition of this popular ballad. I'm only 42 years young and can fully appreciate this version. 👌🏾

Who would’ve thought Liberace was gay I didn’t see that one coming no sir. Women loved him
I was there was an exact sheet of music for this version
I wonder how long he would have lived if it wasn't for that terrible illness.
A true one off....
Thats THE piano Heidi had Hans use on America's Got Talent - Fabtasy League!

As a kid I watched whatever show he was on. I wish I could have seen him perform in person.
My family saw him performing somewhere in the bay area California back in the 70s
