I've learned so much about business mentality from you, Joe, Bart and Geo. You guys have such a motivating and clear way of explaining these things and its amazing. Thank you for existing and speaking your truth.
I related to this a lot. I grew up the same way where I wouldn’t express how I felt because that how I was raised. So I ended up just being quiet and not understanding why things were a certain way. I was young, angry and confused. The only way I knew how to express myself was visually through art. It wasn’t till I was 20, moved away from home that I learned to express myself verbally. That really changed a lot of things and I wish I knew sooner. Keep up the great podcast!
I'm a Colombian/Mexican - American and I can't tell you how much I relate with my parents smacking me or shutting me down when I was simply asking questions or replying to the conversation when I was younger. I was told its disrespectful and I would be thrown out of the house if I continued.
Mayra Rojas really?? I’m Salvadoran if I asked question never happened to me I guess because my mother simply said she did not know and was self aware that she didn’t but my mother is a Native Salvadoran I think they are but more self aware than the rest of the Latino population.
I love this podcast so much!!!!! I've never liked podcasts before this one. I was never able to finish a podcast until now. I can't wait for more!!!! Keep up the amazing work!!!
I love listening to you guys while I'm doing work. I work as an artist at home and sometimes I need a good podcast or audio book to keep me going! Thanks for all the great work!
i really appreciate the honesty and realness in this series. your stories are so prevalent in the immigrant ocmmunity and are so telling and relatable for so many of us. thank you.
I am currently doing corporate accounting homework while listening to this so when y'all started talking about how businesses work I got a little excited.
Man these talks you have is such a breath of fresh air, from parents to running a business. Not many of my close friends can relate to where I can continue a conversation. Keep them coming.
Hey David, I know your podcast might not get as many views as your other videos, but honestly , I love these podcasts and I always look forward to the next one. I only listen to them on my drive to school, otherwise I wouldn't have enough genius brain to last me until the next one gets posted. Keep up the good work my dude
Being the son of a pastor from a broken home, listening to David talk about his past is almost like therapy for me. His relationship with his dad is so similar.
I'm Chinese and my parent's never grounded me, they didn't understand the concept. I once asked my dad to ground me when I was in elementary and his answer was, "Okay..okay... now go outside and play".
Thanks for this episode. I can relate so much when thinking about my relationship with my parents. I could never talk with them without being called stupid and hearing the same lecture about how I was stupid. I know I am stupid, kids are stupid; it was hard to ask questions when I think I would be yelled at. Keep up the podcast.
ThenDont, sorry if the video wasn’t what you expected. I just took the explanation of what he was doing with the channel and thought it coincided with the logo change. But I could be wrong. Are you guys wanting to know what made him choose the logo/how he created?
I don’t have anxiety but I’m a very anxious person and binaural beats help calm my nerves a lot. For depression, just be kind to yourself and do minor things and pat yourself on the back for doing them. Go out in nature, greenery, sit in the sun and get some vitamin d.
Would you guys be able to share more specific advice and tips that people should know that you've learnt from your business experiences? Why things worked and other things failed?
I remember you first promoting GFB, and the designs were great. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to buy a shirt, but then several years later, I looked for GFB apparel again. I saw that the site and everything was removed, and I was confused. Thank you for clearing that up for me, and whenever you decide to start up a merch site again, I'll be there to buy it!
The true success of these stories from David and Joe stem from the fact that they are honest about their struggles and challenges of operating a business.
This podcast was just wow... really enjoyed listening to it, was supposed to be background noise while I do my essay but got glued to it 😂😂😂 and bokshi actually means witch in our language but it means pastor in yours 😱🤯❤️
david your father is so similar to mine except in my situation im an only child. its very intresting hearing stories that i wasnt apart of but situtations are so similar its like i get a flashback or something like that
I thought the "You should know this already, why are you asking questions??" was just my dad being a jerk, but I didn't realize it was actually just another asian experience. This was very enlightening.
Wow...My family came from Poland in WW2, How similar my family's history is to Joe's, is kinda eye opening for how bad it was back then. For all I knew my family was the only one in my area.
guys, not only Asian households see any type of disagreement as disrespectful. My old school Mexican mom thinks the same. So I was never allowed to express my feelings and its something I struggle with, but getting better at. Growing up in an oppressive household is no joke!!
31:00 Still kind of blows my mind how quickly East Asians adopted white man's Christianity. I'm of European descent so my family has been Christian for well over 1000 years. But when you study the history of Christianity in South Korea and Japan, ya'll ate that up so fast.
This is so relevant to me. Like if you ever realized at some point in your life when the shit your parents said to you when you were younger was actually true. Even if they said it in the worst ways.
i love hearing their struggles! im indian and i had the same struggles as theirs, i dont regret nothing but I wish i was more assertive even though it would get my ass whooped
My brother looks japanese as hell, but in a different way... Joes like a propaganda stereotype kind of look, while my older brother looks like a stereotypical samurai kind of look
David you should make genius brain merch with the design on paintings behind you guys i would buy some
Not to be a jerk or know it all but, those are posters (That merch idea would be amazing and i would also buy it)
Yes i want a hoodie with the podcast design
Let's stop this right damn here. Joe's family is related to PRIME MINISTER TOJO. Under imperial japan, that's pure gold.
I've learned so much about business mentality from you, Joe, Bart and Geo. You guys have such a motivating and clear way of explaining these things and its amazing. Thank you for existing and speaking your truth.
It's nice to know that "w/ David So" lives on at this channel.
We really gonna skip over the fact that joe has Tojo’s blood in his veins?
I related to this a lot. I grew up the same way where I wouldn’t express how I felt because that how I was raised. So I ended up just being quiet and not understanding why things were a certain way. Holy shit, Joe's family got ties with Tojo!?!

David didn’t even mention how korean his own face is lol
But he's actually Korean
liam Eastwood that’s exactly what im saying
liam Eastwood listen to what he’s saying to joe in the beginning
I'm a Colombian/Mexican - American and I can't tell you how much I relate with my parents smacking me or shutting me down when I was simply asking questions or replying to the conversation when I was younger. I was told its disrespectful and I would be thrown out of the house if I continued.
im dealing with the same thing rn. its like reason doesnt exist lol
Mayra Rojas the realisation in their eyes widen. “Oh shit, he’s right” then threats starts flying.
Mayra Rojas really?? I’m Salvadoran if I asked question never happened to me I guess because my mother simply said she did not know and was self aware that she didn’t but my mother is a Native Salvadoran I think they are but more self aware than the rest of the Latino population.
Dang I’m full Mexican I can say what I have on my mind at home to my mom and dad they might not like it but they never put me out sorry to hear that
I got back into your channel because of this podcast, great content
On the bus on my way to class.
I thought Bart was Korean when I first watched JK, too
Vincisomething I was convinced when i heard his korean character for the first time. idk if it had a name but the korean accent was on point haha.
he is one percent korean
I like the business part of the podcast, even though I'm not into business, it's still interesting
I love this podcast so much!!!!! I've never liked podcasts before this one. I was never able to finish a podcast until now. I can't wait for more!!!! Keep up the amazing work!!!

I love what you’re doing man. Inspiration wallah
Ngl, growing up with no Japanese people. It felt like Joe was Viet, just from his mannerisms and spot on impressions
I think it's the impressions that threw us off. I thought Bart was Korean and I didn't know what Joe was
same, I'm viet and I thought he was viet. There's a lot of viet people out there that can easily be mistake for other races until I hear their name
Joes Grandma was a badass!!!!!!

PLEASE do more relationship and family podcasts!! love when you guys get into deep topics like this!!
Hi David!
Thanks for this podcast! Love it! Touched home ❤️
Full Circle. I listen your Podcasts while I walk every morning too. Makes the hour go by fast. Thanks!
Being the son of a pastor from a broken home, listening to David talk about his past is almost like therapy for me. His relationship with his dad is so similar.

Love this Ted talk with David and Joe.
It's super interesting learning about your families and how your relationships affect how you grow up.
I love looking at old photos of my grandparents and listen to their childhood stories.
Masato-kun 😂😂😂😂😂 Too cute for Jo. 😂😂😂
I absolutely love love love the GeniusBrain podcast, thank you David & Joe!
David and Joe! I love you guys brah! You guys are inspirational

Loved this! Been watching all day throughout the day
This Podcast thing is actually picking up some steam, kudos to you David.
when they gona explain the genius brain logo ?
miles roman, he already explained it in a video.

petri784 David mentions nothing about the logo in that video lol.

@@Petri- yeah i think the people wanted to know why they chose that specific logo
Touchainz, ok. Well I tried, and misunderstood. Lol.
As a first gen in American with immigrant parents I related to this podcast ep so hard. Love you David!
“You call that shit dangling from your mouth teeth” 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Honestly my favourite podcast episode! :’)
Bring Tim in the next one
If any of you deal with anxiety, depression, or loneliness, how do/did you guys overcome it or manage it ? Thankssss

Accepting it and exploring activities even if it feels like a risk. Group therapy is also better than taking to someone who can't relate.
34:20 is the most deepest and realist shit David and Joe ever said. I never related so hard to that. preach to you guys 💯💯💯 so true
Joe looks Mexican😂😂😂😂
Would you guys be able to share more specific advice and tips that people should know that you've learnt from your business experiences? Why things worked and other things failed?
Loving every episode
Go David !!
I love the history talk in the beginning.
Hello David and Jo, great podcast as usual. Could you talk more about food related businesses?
I remember you first promoting GFB, and the designs were great. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to buy a shirt, but then several years later, I looked for GFB apparel again. I saw that the site and everything was removed, and I was confused. Thank you for clearing that up for me, and whenever you decide to start up a merch site again, I'll be there to buy it!
Great show! Love you guys
Omg thank you for talking about those type of people that keeps taking and taking... and askho’s. Couldnt agree more. Loving your podcast vid!!!!!
I would love more business talk on this. As a business student, i love hearing this shit.
amazing watch. keep up the great podcasts!!
Damn being raised a pastor's kid I can relate to David so much, especially communicating with my dad.
Yo man! I wanna see feature film about Joe's grandmother. Great story 🖖
There's echo in the backround. Maybe a few acoustic pieces on the wall to up the quality of the sound.
The true success of these stories from David and Joe stem from the fact that they are honest about their struggles and challenges of operating a business.
Joe’s family is very interesting I like these kind of stories about his grandmother
This podcast was just wow... really enjoyed listening to it, was supposed to be background noise while I do my essay but got glued to it 😂😂😂 and bokshi actually means witch in our language but it means pastor in yours 😱🤯❤️
Ayyyye; Joe with the Zim reference! Xxx
david your father is so similar to mine except in my situation im an only child. its very intresting hearing stories that i wasnt apart of but situtations are so similar its like i get a flashback or something like that
More David and Joe talks please! :D
this podcast is so good!
I thought the "You should know this already, why are you asking questions??" was just my dad being a jerk, but I didn't realize it was actually just another asian experience. This was very enlightening.
David you planted a seed with GeniusBrain and it will grow!
General Tojo was your Grandma's chaperone, Joe, you have a wild life
Wow...My family came from Poland in WW2, How similar my family's history is to Joe's, is kinda eye opening for how bad it was back then. For all I knew my family was the only one in my area.
Man... I relate to your mom so much Joe!
Amazing podcast! Learned so much about business, people, and myself . Keep it up!
guys, not only Asian households see any type of disagreement as disrespectful. My old school Mexican mom thinks the same. So I was never allowed to express my feelings and its something I struggle with, but getting better at. Growing up in an oppressive household is no joke!!
Oh my god...this clears up even more as to why my dad acts the way he does...
Joes mom and stepdad story is like an anime. Where a young and smart commoner takes a close minded rich girl around the world and they fall in love.
Did David and I have the same mom lol?
They (parents) mostly calmed down over the years.
This episode hit so close to home for me i will have to rethink some shit
Still haven't missed one of these XD keep it up guys! comin at you from Ktown :)
I love you guys! From Japan
Can someone tell me the set up they are using?
anyone have a list of businesses david runs? all i am familiar with is G4B and the matcha shop
Did i missed the two things in the title or is it just not mentioned in the podcast
52:56 I believe it's here. Both things are actually one small story. (unless I missed another Mexican / Spanish slur, it's a dense podcast, idk)
Ooooh you guys fancy ...coasters even
31:00 Still kind of blows my mind how quickly East Asians adopted white man's Christianity. I'm of European descent so my family has been Christian for well over 1000 years. But when you study the history of Christianity in South Korea and Japan, ya'll ate that up so fast.

Can someone find some stuff on the internet about Joe's family. I want to read more into his ancestors
Was one of the people you tried the podcast with Mariel?
Cause i would love to see you two chat.
Honey Moon is the girl in the send foodz video. I knew she looked familiar.
If you guys could talk about things you wish you knew as a teenage or things you encourage for young adults to do/think that’d be tight
David gettin whooped for singing at 0:27:00.
My brother looks japanese as hell, but in a different way...
Joes like a propaganda stereotype kind of look, while my older brother looks like a stereotypical samurai kind of look
joe and you should make some videos about business just like basic stuff but in a funny way ig
