Have you tried playing with you vac pressure.. higher speeds typically take higher vac... I use to run one where I use to work and it wasn't uncommon to be at 25-27 on the vacs and could pretty consistently run 10 mph at 99.8 singulation. But yes the flats are harder to get good singulation out of.
I forget which grade my buddy likes on his deere, cant say I notice anything on my 2150, luckily all our ground going to corn except 140 acres got hit once and planted, had 80 of corn on corn was hit twice, and the rest was chiseled dc stubble beans. All beans so far been 3 trips
Vrt maps are great we plant from 27 to 36 37 give or take, beans go from 115 to 160, ive got a whole pile of corn bags in my shop left, never jad time to meet thr guy that does our vrt so never had seed guy adjust the bags, since they were working from March on. I think I got 15 bags of corn left, compared to average rate seeding
@@farmingwiththetaylors how are you doing that? We’ve got a 340 on a 1795 and we’ve gotta use John Deere auto steer and aftermarket switch. It’s a pain
Using a JD 7000 receiver for shutoffs and speed and Gen 5 monitor to control the planter. Auto steer is all factory Case IH with Pro 700 and 372 receiver. The John Deere components are completely separate from the Case IH tractor. Works very well and very easy to set up.
We will be considering a DB for our next bean planter. Our current Kinze 15 inch bean planter has rows that get run over by tires which can be a challenge sometimes depending on the soil conditions. We are also thinking on 20 inch beans, so a Kinze is definitely still an option. We’ve had 5 different Kinzes on the farm over the years and they’ve been very good to us.
Kinzes are very good planters, hence why we still run one. Although when you get down to it, Kinze and John Deere planters are very very similar. They have been for decades and there always seem to be lawsuits between the two companies on planter designs.
Both our high speed Kinze we had last year and the John Deere this year did exceptionally well. We’ll have videos on spraying and sidedressing our corn that way you can see just how good our stands are. We have no complaints on singulation whatsoever. We’re not the only ones out there planting at higher speeds. There are plenty of other videos of people planting even faster than us with just as good of stands.
That statement is a great indicator that You obviously don’t have a clue about planting corn with a modern planter. This isn’t grandpas finger pickup planter with spring downforce.
Why not? We may not NEED them, but it’s very nice when they tell you practically instantly when something may not be right. Efficiency is the name of the game when it comes to farming, so we’ll take all the help we can get.
Thank you for sharing, best of luck!
Thank you!
I learned something…I always thought NT stood for “No Till”…we have a 1770NT
Have a good year!
Thanks for watching!
Appreciate your comparison thoughts
Thanks for watching!

Yep, we’ve played with it a bit and can get better with some tinkering. Thanks for the input!

Good stuff!
Good luck with the season. Have thought about pop up fert and 2 x 2 or do you prefer the system you have?
Thanks! We have thought about it. As of right now we really like what we’ve got going. It’s been very good for us.
Are you running case auto steer? And the John Deere monitor for just the planter?
That is correct.

The newer John Deere planters appear to be giving some u-tube farmers a fit this year.
Ours was very good to us this year!
I prefer the DB planters over the NT planters they put the wing wheels out in front not between the rows have a great day

I've operated both there is very little difference in the accuracy of the two. Both the kinze is cheaper to operate.
Both are great units! John Deere just happened to be throwing around extremely low numbers 😁
Before you know it there will a new 8R on the front of it🤣
Maybe, maybe not! 😂
Kinze is a better planter by far u don't need weights on the end of it not impressed

U can't plant that fast and get a good stand sorry

U don't need all that bullshit computers in the tractor
