The story about your brother, the church, and them naming Aerith after you in the original game, on top of an already emotional scene meeting the character, the music, etc- such a beautiful, emotional moment. Thanks so much for putting this playthrough out here for us, Amber. It's been really great!

The scene of Areith and Cloud on the rooftops is my favorite. It is just so wholesome.

Also I love Aerith. She is a shining light in a world getting dark. She feels special to you because she really is. You'll find out more later.
I am not surprised at all that such a pleasant and gentle soul like Amber is instantly smitten by Aerith's sweet and happy nature. I've actually never played a Final Fantasy game, but I consider this segment of the game to be very well done and the presentation of Aerith's character is fantastic. Some of the scenes in this game, with the writing, animation, and music, are honestly movie level quality.
Square Enix are masters of storytelling.
You are probably teary because you heard her Theme. It has this kind of Power.
I can attest to this, I actually played the remake before the original(I know, blasphemous) and her theme did make me cry when she handed him the flower. The main theme in the intro when the camera pans out also made me cry. It is insane how the music is nostalgic without ever hearing it before.

Just a couple small notes on weapons: When leveling, keep in mind that when you "Add a Materia slot" it will randomly either add a slot or link two existing slots. Also, when you receive new weapons, don't rush into equipping them. As you know, each weapon comes with a Special Attack. If you use that weapon long enough, you permanently learn that special attack. Once learned, that special attack is available to use regardless of which weapon you have equipped. I love Cloud's Buster Sword, so when ever I received a new weapon for him, I only equipped it long enough to permanently learn it's special attack, then switched back to the buster Sword. But that's just my preference. I just wanted to make it clear to you that this is an option for each of the characters, if you have a favourite weapon for them.
Yeah you can use any weapon. But I'm addicted to materia slots so the #1 incentive to Hard Mode for me is to finally unlock the last slots/joins dammit.
That whole section with Aerith is so wholesome. She really is special. Your nostalgic reactions and your story about your brother naming her Amber just make that part so much sweeter. I love this series, the characters in this game are so nice. I can't wait for the next episode.

It's funny to watch every LPer go through the same emotions when it comes to Aerith. The remake really does a great job of expanding all the characters as individual people but especially Tifa and Aerith.

Smart, sassy, pretty and above all - genuinely kind-hearted. I was absolutely sure you would love Aerith even before you started to play the game and - here we go, as soon as we meet her. I relate to you so much. I watched my dad playing games when I grew up and one of the games he played was the og ff7. He's favorite had always been Aerith and I just remember him gushing about her, then when I finally got to play it myself. I too, fell in love with Aerith😂

Enjoying your theorizing on the story. The music definitely is amazing in this game, Nobuo Uematsu is a genius, the tracks convey exactly the right tone and emotion so often. Esp if you played the original, they impact so heavily. Aerith is such a great character, a beacon of light in a pretty grim world.
I must say you are just super observant and just a good gamer in general. I have finished this amazing game 3 times and watched several playthroughs of it. Yet you have pointed things out that went right over my head with several details in this game. Also for a first playthrough you are doing amazingly well in terms of gameplay and strategy. You have definitely earned another subscriber and I can’t for you to get to know aerith even more in the next part!!

The Airbuster is easily one of my highlights of the game. The spectacle of the battle, combined with the soundtrack is just so good. Such a perfect showcase of what makes this game special blending combat, music and story together effortlessly.

Aerith is one of those characters that truly is special, and to be able to experience this story and this character again, with voice acting and updated visuals is such a blessing.
I'm enjoying this playthrough so much! Good job on doing the timer part before the red materia first try! I don't think I've seen anyone do that before on their first go around!
Amber it's amazing how you use Focus abilities when Pressure pops up I don't think I've ever seen anyone else do that! Just a little reminder that Barret has a Focus ability as well. Barret's Focused Shot is different in which he will drain his entire ATB gauge when he uses it. At 1 ATB bar he will do moderate pressure and at 2 ATB bars he will do MASSIVE pressure (even more than Cloud). Use as you see fit!

For me, Tifa will always be best girl for Cloud. But Aerith is very special and my favorite. The church and the rooftop sequence is probably my favorite wholesome part of the game. As a player of the OG, Cloud's vision in the church brought chills to my spine. Airbuster was probably my second favorite boss of the game. That music just gets me so hyped to kick butt! You'll meet my favorite boss closer to the end. Enjoying your playthrough so much! That chapter under the plate took me hours to complete. It was so confusing.
FYI, you can’t block projectile attacks in punisher mode and you have to be facing the enemy that attacks you with a physical attack to counter them in punisher mode.

Loving this playthrough, Amber! You picked up the combat flow so quickly (as expected!). I felt like I played sloppily for soooo long.

Hi Amber I just want to say how much I'm loving this series, the original version of this game meant so much to me as a young boy and your reactions are taking me right back. As surprised as you were at how emotional you got playing, I'm equally surprised by how emotional I got watching you get emotional. It really is so magical and she really is so special.

I played the original for the first time in my early teens and can relate to the nostalgia. The revamped soundtrack alone was enough to make me tear up, but this remake does such a great job at pulling heartstrings. Aerith is indeed such a lovable character, I'm excited to see you uncover more about all the characters' rich backstories 😊
I’m honestly surprised that I’m loving this game as much as I do. When you first started posting these videos I wasn’t sure I was gonna watch them, because for some reason I didn’t think I’d like Final Fantasy. But I’ve grown to absolutely love these characters and this story, just from what I’ve watched here in your videos! (I’ve even started saving pictures of the gang on my phone and watching Tik Tok edits, I’m officially down the rabbit hole 😂)

I fell in love with Arieth in the original game because she had the same personality as a girl I had a big crush on. I even named her after the girl lol. When I played remake and went through the rooftop scene it destroyed me. It still does every time I see it. Thanks for the lovely playthrough ❤

Just a small Thing. The Music is really quiet. Not like super quiet but i think its a bit on the actually to low Level. At least for me. I would prefer it to be like... 3db louder (or around that. I cant actually tell you the correct and perfect amount).
She's said that Square Enix is really bad about hitting playthrough videos with a copyright claim, so she has to reduce the volume of music on the stream. It's louder for her.
@@garryuyahoo That's a pity. Having the character conversation/Amber's voice on normal/quite loud level I can hear only separate sounds from the music. Even the boss fight music was barely audible. Aerith's theme was completely lost for me, had to rely purely on imagination/memory there. The almost-loss of music is a bit of a drawback in this play-through, luckily Amber's comments make up for that.

Tifa knows Cloud from their childhood and is aware that he's not a social person, so she's more sensitive about his boundaries. Aerith is significantly more dominant and pushes Cloud out of his shell pushes him out of his shell.

Bummer that this play through was discontinued here and right before my favorite part of the game. It seemed like you were really enjoying it. Hope everything is okay and you eventually finish it on your own someday. I am about 20 hours into Rebirth and it only gets better.
I doubt it's discontinued, she isn't a full time creator and is probably just busy. I'm sure she'll either post a new episode or an update sometime soon!

A quick tip for switching between graphics and performance modes. It is best to do it from the main menu then loading your save. Doing it from the in game menu can cause graphical glitches and frame drops in some games.

The best way to use barrier is to link it to magnify. That way it gets put on the whole party in one spell cast.

I don't know how this second part is gonna go, since the first part ends so strangely compared to disc 1 in the original. Hopefully they put more of the original team into this next part, Cid is like one of the funniest characters ever, and Vincent was just really cool.
