Neteyam is my role model
He was the perfect brother, the perfect soldier, and the perfect son. But i don't think Loak realized that even Neteyam was struggling to live up to perfection and responsibility. Its almost like he was forced to grow up quicker, and during his death he was bought back to his childlike nature normal for his age when he said "I want to go home". In the end, Eywa guided him back there.

Neteyam didn't even know he was dead in the end. All he know is he's back home doing things he loved like fishing. Seems that Eywa spared him the sorrow of the truth that he's already gone so that he could live in peace in the afterlife.
Yeah I think so too but it's sad that he's not aware of his death 😭😭😭
For me I took the opposite message. He does not realize he's dead because there is no death. He merely passed on into the next life. It's why he's confused as to why his dad is crying. There's no need to be sad. He's not gone, he's just somewhere else.
@Juska Bilonda Well, i guess Eywa itself decided to spare him from the grief he would feel. Because we saw it is possible that the "Souls" are aware of their Death and know what happend after that. Grace was full aware of Kiri and knew that she was her Daughter.

In Eywa they meet version of Nateyam with all his memories, while he was lastly connected to the tree. He can't know that he is dead, cause he hasn't connected to Eywa anymore.
Neteyam got so little screentime and still every little frame he conveyed he was willing to protect and be there for his family every time. He was willing to sacrifice himself so others could live. If you watch the movie again and focus on Neteyam's character, you will discover that he is an underrated hero in the story. Every time he is shown, he does everything he can to protect others and stand up for them as well. True hero.
When Lo'ak started to cry in the water is when I lost it because that's when it truly became real for him that his brother is really gone. For us, the death of a loved one doesn't truly hit until the burial at the cemetery. Damn there I go again with the onions man.

I think that’s the moment it finally set in, that his actions led to his brother’s death. It’s going to be interesting to see how Lo’ak handles that guilt and grief going forward.
@@jesterjay420 His heart was in the right he wanted to save Spider and Payakan. Neteyam death was on the guy who shot him but there's rumors they may bring him back somehow Kiri maybe the key.
@@dynahvelvixin.8615 some of the biggest consequences come from the noblest intentions. Lo’ak’s last conversation with Netayam blew up into an argument, and he said things he’ll never be able to take back. I wouldn’t expect a resurrection either, 1 because it vacuums all the emotional impact, and 2 because it defies any character development his family will face without him.

What's even more sad is that Neteyam was 15 years old at the time of his death.

@@KaminoChan The main plot of the first film took place in 2154. Neteyam was born in 2155 and Lo’ak was born a year later in 2156.

if you think about it neteyam was there to save everyone but who was there to save him? he's saved lo'ak, neytiri, kiri, tuk, even tsireya. he was really taken for granted. it's always the kindest hearts that pass. i hope to see him again in the next movies.. if james can bring grace back why not neteyam?

Уже прошел месяц когда я посмотрела аватар 2,но досихпор плачу когда вспоминаю,что Нетейам погиб..Я никогда его не забуду,и всегда буду любит его,ходят слухи,что в 3 части аватар Кири воскрестит Нетейама,я очень надеюсь..Что эти слухи - правда..)

Первого аватара я смотрела отрывками, когда была ещё маленькой, поэтому совсем не помню. Очень захотела посмотреть перед выходом второго фильма, однако запамятовала. Из-за спойлеров со смертью Нетейама, просто не хочу это смотреть. Я совсем его не знаю, но по тем отрывкам что видела, уверена, что это мой любимый персонаж. И его так глупо убили.. Вот смотришь на их счастливую семью, а потом на его стеклянные глаза. Просто не хочется в это верить. Всё произошло слишком быстро. Не хочется углубляться и невероятно больно смотреть каждый раз. У меня и так много близких полегло, а тут это...
Страшно. Невероятно страшно и грустно. Боюсь, посмотрев весь фильм, моё сердце этого не сможет выдержать. Но очень хочется посмотреть..
Смерть Нетейама не была необходимостью и я правда надеюсь, что он вернётся. Я надеюсь, что такое имя ему дали не зря.

Like any great James Cameron movie, Avatar: The Way of Water and its characters totally grow on you the more times you see them. Sometimes hes not going to make it easy like Titanic and Avatar. It took at least 10 years for Aliens to find its audience. Thats why its so easy for some critics to take the story in The Way of Water for granted. They probably missed some key character motivation and plot points while assuming the worst of the story

Don't know whether of this is true but he is gonna be in the next couple of movies possibly they may bring him back somehow tied in with Kiri or in spirit form.
@@dynahvelvixin.8615 Probably in spirit form or as memories. But honestly, they even brought Quaritch back to life by uploading him into an avatar. I would totally not be surprised if Kiri would be able to use her gift in order to bring him back somehow. But I'm not gonna hope for that, because it would only be unsatisfiying if it's not happening. Either way, I heard that his actor is still listed for the next movie, so we get at least something of Neteyam.
