I’m so envious of the relationship you share with your daughter. How fun to have a day together doing discovery shopping 🛍️! I love all the goodies you got and can’t wait to see what you two create!
Enjoying your vlogmas! As to the nativity, in our Catholic household we always have the Wise Men in the distance. They arrive on the scene on January 6th, the Feast of the Epiphany. Happy Holidays!
Agree about the Naivety. And ohh my….I love the one you got! I’m actually a bit jealous. That and the tiny books really peeked my interest. Lovely episode. ♥️
I love to thrift with my daughter. Also we always have the best time. I love Lily’s dress. That is the golden cream color. Have fun with your crafting.
Hi Amber and Lily! Great to see you back, Lily. ;). Amber I really like your snowflake cardigan you’re wearing. It looks very good on you. We do have St Vincent de Paul all the way over here in Seattle, WA. I really enjoy thrifting, it’s all about the hunt!! Your home looks so comfy and cozy and during Christmas. See ya tomorrow.
ThankYOU Amber, for another vlog. It brought me joyful memories of thrift store shopping with my Mom! And MY favorite coffee shop that sold my handmade jewelry and crochet one Christmas, long ago and far away. I LOVE all your and Lily's finds! Peace and Blessings 🧶🎄🐕
My mom always put the Wise Men out on Epiphany which is January 6th. We have 2 Nativity sets, my mom’s and one we purchased for our first Christmas after we were married, 55 years ago. I sometimes forget to put the Wise Men out on Epiphany, but agree with you that the Wise Men aren’t at Christ’s birth. I enjoy your vlogs so much, it looked like a perfect day for you and Lily. God bless, Linda Hardesty
Amber, I love that you mentioned the wise men! It drives me crazy when they are portrayed with the stable. I agree with you 100%. My kids are tired of hearing me rant about that. 😂
Luke 2:15,16 the shepherds were there with the baby and the manger. Matthew 2:11 says the astrologers met the young child in a house! Stories and so many songs are not correct !glad some noticed that! Molly does look so much better! Yay!❤
I am also crocheting the Granny Stripe Shawl by Crochet Objet, adapted it to a worsted weight. I am doing it as an advent project, one stripe a day. The worsted weight yarn should make it big enough with 25 stripes hopefully, if not I'll just keep going! :)
Great finds ! I like to go to the store in Indiana. But, the hours are hard, as they close at 2. Thrifting is so much fun. You can find such treasures. See you tomorrow!
Thank you for putting up such a lovely video! St Vincent de Paul society was founded in France roughly 200 years ago and it’s still very active here. « Découpage » is also a French word - a noun, to be specific (the « cutting out »). So funny to see how we borrow each other’s words in cute and sometimes funny ways (eg in French, to say the word « shampoo » we say « shampooing » but you could never recognize the word if you heard it!). Also, as many have said, in my Catholic home, we’ve always put the wise men out for the feast of the Epiphany. We have a lovely tradition for this feast in France. We bake (or buy) a « galette » (a flaky frangipane cake/pie) with a little charm hidden inside. We cut the pie, the youngest in the room goes under the table and says who gets each pieces of the pie. The one who gets the charm is crowned and gets to pick his or her queen / king.
My daughter and I thrifted today, but our store is not nearly as good as yours. We were looking for Christmas crafting supplies too. Your nativity is amazing!
What a fun day that looked like! Awesome coffee shop! Love the wooden Mary, Joseph, and Jesus with star - really simple but beautiful decoration. Never heard anyone else (outside of my church) mention the Biblical truth about the wise men not coming to see Jesus until he was about 1 1/2 to 2 years old! When I set up my nativity set, I always put the wise men on a table on the other end of the room so they have to "travel" to get to Jesus! 🙃 I'm assuming it will take them 2 years!! 😂 It will be a lovely decoration in your house!
Great thrifting finds! Looks like you had a great day together. ❤ I just took a workshop on how to make that quilted ornament you found. They take about 3 hours to make and have 200 pins in each one. Lovely find!
What a lovely day the two of you had. I agree with you about the wise men - they don't belong in the nativity scene. You found some great stuff in the thrift store. We are in the process of moving and I think our local thrift store should know us by first names by now as we drop so many things off. 😂 However, I am not ready to give my good knits to a thrift store yet, but I am not sure what to do with my knitted blankets and shawls that I have to down size because of space. 🤪
What a steal and it looks like you had a great day! Anytime you have your daughter on I always say I hope my daughters are little Lilys someday! ❤ Any tips for making that happen would be most appreciated, they’re currently 5 and 6 😊
Hello! I always forget to mention such things on these vlogmas episodes. My sweater is not handmade. I actually found it last winter at a thrift store.
So happy you and your daughter had such a great day! Could you please tell me what that thing was that you lit the four candles in? Over the years I've seen those and I've always wanted one but I never knew what the name of it was, would you please tell me what it was ?😊

Pro tip … put the three kings on the other side of the room and then it all works. Great episode!
I do that!

Now that makes more sense!
Thanks Amber and Lily. Great find on the boots Lily. Great thrifting finds all around.
Thanks for watching!

Lovely episode. ♥️

Awwww looks like you and Lily had a fabulous day! 🌻❤️🎄
Looks liked you both had a great day together. All of your finds were great deals. And I love your sweater.

Hahaha. So glad to hear I'm not alone in that pet peeve!
So many beautiful treasures found. I also love thrifting. You never know what you will find.
That is the thrilling part! It's a treasure hunt every time@

Another lovely vlogmas. You guys have the best thrift shops there. I also did some thrifting today Thank you.
We do have a lot luck!

Hahaha. There you go! That's the way to handle those wise men!!!!
Nice to see you both! I love thrifting as well, especially those home made things.

When I had a nativity scene, I put the wisemen far away on the other side of room.

What a fun day! Our Vincent DePaul closed! Especially love the Christmas mug. By the way, what is the sweater you are wearing? It’s so pretty❤️

Of course! If you google "German Christmas Pyramid" it will bring up similar items!
Thank You 😊
What great thrift finds! It’s not just your opinion about the nativity scene, it is Biblically accurate that the wise men came later.
