Mutumwa is right its a ZANU pf thing do we have real change at the end of the day.My issue is those in ZANU pf worked with Mugabe what is new that they can bring.. ..
capitalism is a system/way of doing business mr. Mawere its driven by the desire to maximize profits whilst minimizing expenses and in the process the human factor suffers the consequence.
Sure and everyone wants to maximise their own benefit. The role of gvt should be to moderate the playing field only as ideal conditions of equal bargaining power don't exist.
Eddy Maseya your comments reflect exactly what communist/socialist say. Mugabe tried that and look at what happened. Look at what countries like Cuba and Valenzuela have become. It is very clear that anti-capitalist policies lead to poverty. Whereas a market driven economy leads to economic growth and prosperity which trickles down to the working class and lifts them out of poverty.
To the contrary DK1, I am fully persuaded that capitalism is the best there is. However left without moderation, it results in worse social outcome like slavery or say wage slavery. Governments should do that moderation through legislation, fiscal and monetary policies in my opinion.
Art Mat, what you are describing is not real Capitalism. Pure Capitalism is market driven. In a market driven economy there is no such thing as "wage slavery." If, for example, workers feel that they are being under paid they simply leave their employers and look for other work. In a market driven economy there is plenty of work because there is plenty of DEMAND. Where there is plenty of demand there is plenty of competition. Competition drives PRODUCTIVITY. In a highly productive economy there are higher wages because employers compete with others employers to recruit the very best workers that they can find. Therefore, employees are highly valued and not treated as slaves. It's only when Governments interfere that problems begin to arise. Then slowly but surely there is an increase in legislation and ultimately bureaucracy which hinders and sometimes even kills a market driven economy.
lol...I`m one strong opponent of socialism/communism especially after what Nyerere did to Tanzania or the results it brought to the Soviet Union. But in the same vein, let look at how the working class is suffering in the US and Britain despite all the successes that capitalism has brought to them. Some would say for every good thing someone has to pay the price...lol I love the fact that Zimbabwe has to turn to capitalism especially at a time when we`ve been operating in a somewhat mixed economy. Laissez Faire principles should be put at the fore but after being reviewed so that they suit our African minds and conditions. Perhaps we might even craft our own form of capitalism buttressed on the principles of UBUNTU/HUNHU.
How much money have you externalised illegally? I understand you are playing your last card and we hope you will win but the altimatum to return all externalised to offshore accounts in three months time.
Ma were I think u missed the point, whether like it or not Mugabe R. G is credited for an effective education policy. Do not beat about the bush, face it.
Benvolent Dengura He inherited it from the Muzorewa's manifesto. Muzorewa and Christian missions were already rolling out affordable education and primary health to black communities when Mugabe hijacked it only to distroy it later.
+Gospicnic you are a fool, there is no going back on land reform, indigenization or command agriculture. there are far more poverty in south Africa and Nigeria than in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is not far sale.
