What a treasure-trove! There are enough keepsakes here to open a museum, depicting the last century.
Thank you for taking the time to explain so many of these finds - I hope this house doesn't fall prey to vandals.

Like myself, this lady has been collecting beautiful things all her life but it does make me sad that one dies and its all left. Nice thing is Darren, you go round and enable us all to see them so they are, at last, appreciated. Loved this explore, the Flame Mahogony chests are the best I've seen and the scent bottle with the stopper is quite valuable.

Hi Pat, yes I know what you mean, collecting lovely objects all your life with no one to leave them too is very sad, I just hope when this place gets sold that a charity can come in and save lots of these items so they can be loved by others. I also loved the wood on that bow fronted chest of drawers:) Thanks for watching

I’ve just come across your channel and have watched two episodes back to back 😮
Not sure if anyone else has commented but I believe the claw holding the ruby-like ball is a page saver. It’s slipped on the top of your page so the place can be found easily.
Excellent channel, keep at it 👍

That was fun to see all the stuff in this house. Thank you, Stare! The wooden board you came across with peg holes in it was a cribbage board.

  • @hotmailemail1128
    @hotmailemail1128 Рік тому +6

I think that's a cribbage board with all the holes, although it looks rather smaller than the board my parents used for their games. That little purse with the lighter attached might have been a cigarette case. It seems about the right size for a packet of cigarettes.

This house has quite a lot of treasures in it! The rock crystals are awesome! I had a collection, but I gave it to my grandson. Also, I like the lady statues in the China cabinet. I collect those too. I think it is sad when there is no family member to take over the house and clean out the contents and keep family heirlooms. It's like once they passed on there was no one to care. Of course, the same thing may happen to me but I live in an apartment so they would clean it out if no one else did. I hope my son will care enough to take care of things, but we never know do we. Great video!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Hi Patricia, I’m really pleased that you liked the video, it was great to find it in this kinda condition so we could see exactly how they used to live and what they liked collecting. I also loved the crystal collection, I bet they looked amazing when the sun caught them on the windowsill and the light lit up their colours. Like you said it’s sad when all the heirlooms get left behind like that, hopefully when the place gets sold a charity might be called in to save some of the lovely things inside the place:) Thanks for watching

    Absolutely loved this video. !
I do belive the foot was a Drs.model, well hoping so at least.
The large cut glass bottle in the 2nd bd rm with the sterling silver top was a bottle for after splash usually rose water. I have one that size and a matching one smaller for perfume.
Mine is from the 1920's .
It's truly ashame all of those things were not bequeath to someone.
I really enjoyed this video. By far the most of any I have seen. Thank you 😊

I would think this was a higher income family house because the heaters and textured wallpaper in every room. Not to mention, the electronic devices are good brand name and the nik nak items are fascinating and from other countries. Not to mention, the furniture looks like high quality and well-built stuff, especially the oriental stuff. The stained glass windows in the front door are really neat! The power lift for the stairs probably was not cheap either. I'm surprised you didn't mention the power lift on the stairs when you went up them. Someone must've been weak or handicap as there are also assist bars on the sides of the toilet. What i like about your videos is that you actually go thru and open things and get close to stuff for us to see. Some people just graze over stuff and go in circles at places, which makes me just want to fast forward it.

I just love seeing your videos!!….you take your time and look at the most important of the finds…the artifacts!! The human bone foot sample is found in many doctors offices and medical schools for study. They are usually cadaver donations that are given willingly by families for the advancement of medical knowledge. Maybe she was a doctor or in the medical field. They were well traveled too, as per all the beautiful Asian decor and rare ornamental pieces!! Fantastic, fantastic video, Stare!!! Your videos are the best around!!! Thank you for sharing these!!!

I feel its disrespectful especially without the owner's permission or her family's permission. Totally unfair and disrespectful.

Hi Michael, yes you’re right there about the collecting, isn’t it a shame though when you’ve spent your whole life buying nice things and there is no one left to pass them down to who can also enjoy them. Hopefully if the place gets sold at some point maybe a charity could come in and save some of the items before it’s too late:) Thanks for watching

The perfume bottles in the upstairs bedroom are called atomizers. The perfume (aka toilet water) mix world be poured into this container and the lady could spray it around herself by pumping the ball

The thing you called a pouch with the lighter attached is actually a women's cigarette pack holder. No one really uses those today. 1st timr I've seen the lighter attached ☺️

Again it makes you wonder is there a family at war over this property? Such a shame if they are and that they've left it like this. This would make some family a lovely home and bring the house back to life.

Aww the hot water bottle 😞 The board with the holes used with pegs, is a cribbage game. Those fold up binoculars are very '80's, I had some I used to take to secondary school and spy on the boy I adored when he was playing football!

Hi Mark, well said. . . . . .a real gem, I’m so glad to have found it in this condition before it gets trashed and things get moved around and stolen. You can really see how the previous people lived when it’s left like this:) Thanks for watching

Lovely video. Love your commentary. My Grandfather had same board used for Cribbage a card game. Always sad to see lifetime belongings just left. I have started to use all things left by my Mother and Grandparents. Shame to leave unused in China cabinets just on display. Couple years back I gave away all my stainless steel cutlery and now use daily my Grandmother's silver cutlery. My Mother seldom used it always saying that's for best!!! English and dated to 1900. I also make use of the China plates teapots and cupe/saucers. Looks great. Lovely to use.
I had to laugh about the dog door entry. By coincidence earlier in the day watched Jusge Judy where a girl had to chase her Pit Bull (horrors) few houses down from. Her home and it got in to a house through a dog door and she could hear it attacking a yapping little dog. No one answered so in desperation she had crawled through the door to the rescue.
Lol 2 dog door entry stories In 1 day. Little dog survived.
Thanks for posting. Love your filming and commentary.

Hi Susan good to hear from you again. That’s a good idea using your grandparents and mothers best things rather than them just being left unused in a display cabinet. The old things are always better quality and easier to use too.
Ha can’t believe you saw that about a girl climbing through the dog flap, I bet she got through it a lot easier than me though 😂 Thanks for watching
