😂😂😂
😭😭😭😭 that's insane lmao
Would love to hear billy and Madlib make a album together.
Awwwwww, bruh... 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'd love to hear that!
Yes please.
oh fr fr
oh word,
you want that MADwood !
@@exthechickenwing bruuuhhh, MADWOOD, that makes sense lol.
The way billy woods starts his verse on Year Zero is crazy.
"Apes stood up and walked into the future,
March of progress end hunchback in front the computer
Sooner or later it's gonna be two unrelated active shooters, same place, same time"
Like damn...
Yes that was crazy 🔥🔥🔥🔥
One of my favorite woods verses ever. It’s insane.
Honestly it’s so good it almost ruins danny’a verse because I want more woods
damn... about to sink deep into the album.... woods is our Shakespeare
@@andrewtrott7844 Year Zero has Woods’ best verse on the album and Danny is still the best feature on the record with Aesop. Then I’d say Quelle Chris. Though Elucid’s verse on the outro is great too.
loving the pans to live myke reaction
The visuals of the lyrics popping up and the everything are really nice!
I thought this is billy's most accessible album. The vocabulary was not so hard and Kenny's beats were so fantastic and easy, they're a match made in heaven
I don’t find these beats accessible for most hip hop fans. Known Unknowns would be the better choice.
@@Dylan-zm3ht if we include the armand hammer stuff I feel like haram is still the best point to start for a hip hop listener today
As the dude who doesn't get handed the aux can confirm soft landing and Kenwood got some mild head bobbing. Not as good of a response from crocodile tears off of history will absolve me tho
@@gruntilda2 Yea, that one would work well also.
Production wise I agree.
I like how you guys put each persons best tracks next to them when they speak to the artist. I think it’s an efficient way to tighten up the end of the video
Woods is top 5 all time dead or alive. We need to start giving this man his flowers. Nobody in rap, mainstream or underground, has been in a better run than Woods has basically since 2017
Idk roc marci has a serious claim to that, my good man
Tons of rappers have lmao
Top 5 dead or alive is hilarious
2012 really, history will absolve me and then forward has only been great albums
@@MrASAPABpeople just be saying stuff man. At this point I just like the comments and move on
my album of the year already. billy is a genius
Feefo said it ain’t bumping
Lol
_GENIUS!_
Too me
The spongebob sound at 1:28 is hilarious 😂😂🤣🤣
So many Biggie references, they were fun to catch lol. Suicidal Thoughts, Everyday Struggle, Gimme the Loot, Going Back to Cali, Ready to Die, Life after Death, Kick in the Door….I love this album!!
That look on Myke's face around 8:10 ... I fucking felt that lmao
billy woods has been my favorite artist for a while now and Maps only reinforced this.
Also this album got me to listen to ShrapKnel, and speaking of bars holy shit
Just played a show with woods and I can confirm this man said “I need you to dim the lights as low as you can legally dim them” lol
Samuel T Herring is Hemlock Ernst by the way. He’s been on albums with milo and busdriver and also has a rap album produced by kenny segal.
there you go, I knew I knew that name from somewhere! I completely forgot, thanks
Feefo wildin with that Silk Tha Shocker /Billy Woods comparison 😆 😂🤣💀💀
Love how everyone was equally shocked when Feefo said billy sounds like Silkk @1:21 😂😂😂
Masterpiece body of work! Appreciate the review fellas Godbless silk da shocker..... first silk album was Tuff thou
Feefo is… something else…
Myke’s face every time feefo opened his mouth 😂😂
He legit asked the light guys to "dim the light as low as the insurance policy would allow them" I was cracking up.
said this at the Austin show too haha
@@0bd00 that's funny, yea saw him live last Wednesday for my birthday. Shit was awesome I was literally a foot away from him. Kenny got down too.
BRUH I'VE BEEN CHECKING EVERY DAY FINALLY
I'm deliberately not listening to this album too often, because I know, like the whole woods catalogue, I will be listening to it for years and years to come and it always takes time absorb his wrtiting. The guy's an all-timer - can't think of anyone who has a discography that compares when you consider the quality he achieves over such a volume of output. Great to have him back over Segal beats too.
this albums is fucking AMAZING! cant stop listening to it
Thanks Myke, Babylon by bus was an insane song and when the beat changed, bro, probably my favorite beat of the year.
Been waiting for this review from you’ll ❤! I’m so glad Feefo wasn’t feeling it so much. The dissension gave so many laughs. (I love bluefaces flow. He’s got swing).
Kenny’s beats are insanely good! The way the brassy bass comes in on hangman is nuts.
I’m glad we get to hear Elucid and Billy. They some really special writers! Giving Toni Morrison!
Great album! Great review!
Great review as always
Ooh I like them having a visual for the lyrics Ken quoted good shit
How is Rod the only one with Hangman as one of their favorites? That’s the best song on the album. Other than that, great review and I hope there’s plenty more to come
that's what I'm saying!
I saw him live last Wednesday, he mentioned that hangman was his favorite track off the album. His favorite beat.
When that trombone kicks in, and he's like "An ill-wind in the trees..." Crazy
Hangman is fucking insane. You right
totally agree with mike on woods' flow, i think the strength of his writing overshadows how unique and fucking dope his flow is. it takes a while to get your ear around but once you do its crazy how well executed it is.
Kenny Segal said that Danny Brown was freestyling on that joint.
In an interview I heard the opposite. Danny brown was telling them don't rush me, I need to put time into this.
Feefo: "This brilliant rap album is just OK and I can't really put it in my rotation."
I agree w Myke. I def like this more than Hiding Places.
Was getting worried after the Macklemore / Harlow that y'all were about to mess around and not review this excellence 😡 glad to see Woods continuing to stockpile his flowers!
21:46 at the show I went to, he requested the lights be dimmed as much as possible (I think to obscure his face for pics)
Also watching this guy live was so dope.
This album was a masterpiece! My first time listening to Billy Woods! Time to binge his CAT
I would love a woods interview
Great review as always, you guys gotta see woods live one day because he puts on a show.
He not wrong billy woods super difficult to get into I’ve tried 😅he dope on features
Have you listened to any armand hammer. Thats what did it for me
I feel Facetime off this new album and Soft Landing are two of his most accessible songs, they sound like singles while still keeping Woods dope rhymes, check those two out and go from there
Even tho I disagree wit him, I appreciate feefo for presenting a dissenting opinion
The album cover is actually based on the emergency card from the airline EasyJet
Dope review! Feefo needs to open his ears up a bit. No skips all the way through, but that run from Soft Landing to Blue Smoke is straight 🔥and had my attention on the first listen. I had to rewind each several times
silkk da SHOKKA?!?! 😭
'WhaAAAAttt??'
We need a live stream first react session with Feefo. I have to see what his initial reaction is cause every time I think this is the one he’ll like, it’s not.
3:11 Myke with Jim stare to the camera LOL
That SpongeBob sound effect was class 😂😂😂
Really stacked year for music.
I have everything from woods since '17 on rotation still.
been to an armand hammer show recently and can say they def dim the lights😌😌😌
Can’t believe it took till Myke to mention As the Crow Flies. That last Billy verse is just so beautiful.
Myke's self-control in the beginning deserves medals.
That every victory pyrrhic hook is a callback to woods' line on Rehearse With Ornette from Paraffin
He also mispronounces pyrrhic on this hook to emphasize that he forgets the lyrics
@@goats01_ just some standard GOAT rapper shit
@@niharrathi 💯
Billy woods continues to establish his name as one of the best rappers in the game working today. Kenwood speakers, Year Zero were flames, Quelle chris snapped Aesop and Danny brown goin off. Plus never knew he was a fan of biggie so many dope lines attributed to his songs such insanity.
idk if this was commented already but fun fact the second half of the danny brown verse was a freestyle! kenny segal said on an interview on the Dad Bod Rap Pod
Bad dreams are only dreams, is literally a masterpiece
Yeh he always dims the stage lights live
I'm not completely done with the review so they still might bring this track up, but damn. No love for Hangman? That might be my favorite track off the album, it's so dark and brooding.
Billy woods is one favorite rapper ...
Dope features and production as always
For a lot of people
it's too much on the plate to handle
Myke’s faces had me dying bruh
I cannot get this line out of my head,
“Common sense says my ancestors was the worstest of men
First sign of trouble, motherfuckers shimmy right out that human skin”. 🤯
a quick summary… damn!
Just saw Armand Hammer live in Melbourne Australia, they dim the lights! lots of smoke, it was like being at a doom metal show, it was intense and awesome. I agree with Mike, Maps is better than Hiding places, def AOTY. pretty crazy that this guy has potentially dropped 2 of his best albums in the past 12 months of his long career. He told ppl at the gig that a new Armand Hammer record is dropping later in the year. Would love to know if Mike sees a similarity between Woods and MF DOOM, flow style. they are my 2 favourite rappers
"Spliff could start your car battery"
LMAO MYKE'S FACE AT 3:25 AND FEEFO NOT EVEN HATIN 🤣
This guy continues to drop top tier. Just when you ask your self what can he do to change it up? He drops this gem. Production is excellent on this the features bring it as usual. AOTY so far.
Myke channeling his inner Jim Halpert at Feefo's take XD
Lol the edits hit just like Myck’s adlib 🤣🤣🤣
Samuel T Herring is Hemlock Ernst by the way. He’s great.
AOTY for me so far. It's strong. The beats, the lyrics. Damn.
I let the Silk The Shocker slide as it is Feefo being Feefo doing what Feefo does. But at the 8:19 mark i had to stop right there and ask myself can i really continue on?
Hangman nobody!?!
Droning like a christopher Nolan movie
Lol ion think anyone mentioned it specifically in the review but it was a standout track for most of them.
I've never listened to Billy besides the Haram tape with Alchemist. Off first listen I was hooked Rapper Weed probably my favorite song. Also like year zero & hangman. Definitely gotta check his other projects.
I saw billy live last Friday. He didn’t dim the lights. I could clearly see him. It wasn’t too bright. But you could see him. And of course after he was at the merch table and no mask or any.
Second time seeing him and I finally know what the man looks like😂
I get that maybe there’s time restraints or y’all got a lot going on. But i liked it when y’all read out your favorite tracks, cause a lot of the times another member would chime in and add their thoughts or say a line.
"SILKK THE SHOCKER?" is the new "DRAAAAAKE?" 😂😂😂
Woods is one of the most visual and vidid rappers I've ever heard. Incredible
Siilk the shocker?????? I had to pause the video and come back. That took me out😂😂😂
1:28 killed me so bad😭😭
Woods is great for many reasons, but one thing that puts it over the top for me is all the foodie references. I'm a cook, so that shit always hits the spot, lol.
If i love billy woods, would i like Silk Da Shocka? Feefo putting us on?
yall didnt talk about facetime i love that track
No skips .
I love how feefo says "this is a good album but..." as if real hiphop heads will agree with his consensus lol. Bruh this gonna be top three a hiphop albums on all forums for the year, top ten albums for the year. All good feef, I'm also a curren$y fan and love when my whip bumps, but this right here is what I rotate all day.
Real hip hop heads not really bumping Billy like that, his music doesn’t knock, it doesn’t get no crowds going which is what hip hop is about. His shows are filled with white folk too, his music gets played no play in streets either. He makes low energy music for low energy people.
He finally gets it bc I’ve never understood what people say about these dudes rapping “off beat”. They aren’t off beat at all lmao
When I saw him live, he was shrouded in a dark red light so you can see him but not his face
I think FaceTime is my favorite single of the year it’s so good
1:23 Silkk the Shocker is wiiild😂
I’m a giant Danny brown fan, I wasn’t thrilled with his verse. I thought he really could’ve tapped into that XXX pen where he was really spitting bars and chose not to. Also given how Quelle Chris produced shit ON that XXX album, it would’ve been cool to hear them together on this album. They’ve worked together on one of Chris earlier tapes and probably other places
There should be a separate ''Myke face cam'' in the corner of the video just for his facial reactions
2 Mike C-Town? sick
dehh & billy woods 4eva!
I felt like Billy leveled up in the Art of saying more while saying less
No Feefo did not say Silk the Shocker wtf lol
I personally agree with Feefo a bit I like the first half, but at Babylon by bus the album just jumped for me with a perfect run to the end. Still a quality album. To me this is not worth comparing to Hiding Places since its not trying to be a sequel to it just another collab with Kenny Seagal.
The production on Babylon by Bus goes craaazy. Favorite song off the album
I REALLY like this album, but i dont like it better than Hiding Places. Hiding Places' production and curation sounds soooo cinematic in a way that Maps doesn't
For me, Hiding Places is in its own category as one of the best albums of all time. So as good as this album is it doesn’t reach those heights for me.
When i tell you, i was talking to my sister while playing this album in the car.....and she looked at me like, why thjs dude keep rapping off beat? I said, its like silkk da shocker but a lot more verbose and craft. 😂
For the first time, i think im coming around to what feefo is saying. But sometimes it can be a lot to get with the off kilter rapping constantly.
1:28 lol
YOU MIGHTVE WELL SAID BLUEFACE 😭💀
Billy low on the flow? Feeffo tripping haaaard
Billy vs Aesop rock, or Billy vs danny brown, or Quelle chris vs Billy.
AOTY by a looooong way so far for me. And billy woods best album too date imho. Incredible project. billy is getting better and better. Top 5 rapper of the last decade easily!
Edit: Armand Hammer dropping in the fall guys.
Wow long way better than black thought the legend?
Yes! Billy Woods been working nonstop since 2019, and he still gets better
@@commaJim Yep, for me. Maps is by far better than anything this year, even Black Thought. He is at number 2.
Armand Hammer dropping in the fall? Source?
@@Hunterese123 Actually mind boggling at this point.
