Considering how many reviews Anthony does in a year, and then multiplying that times five, compiling this list must have been so much work. I really appreciate this unique five-year perspective.
I really like that this was almost a "Toy Manufacturer Top 10". Jada Toys is the best company making toys right now, for that price point. It's not even close. Considering how many figures they've released and how many I own, I think it's the highest ratio out of any company.
I don't know, Valaverse is pretty close, and is improving with every wave. Too bad Anthony may never review an Action Force figure since he doesn't review figures of independent toymakers (something about bias since he's making his own toyline soon i hope)
No really, you can compare them by prices, and Monster Force cost way more than Action Force who sit at the 30$ price point. Monster Force is off to great start though and I hope they improve with every wave just like how Valaverse has. @@Venom-cd7tw
So happy to see Jada at the top. Haven't been this excited about an action figure line in a long time. As for the stylization, it's important to remember that even if you're looking at just sf2, theres a noticable difference between in game sprites, portraits, and official artwork. I think jada is considering all three when they make these. Which is why ryu has red gloves and kanji on his belt. That actually started with official art for super street fighter 2.
That Samus figure is amazing. Figma is releasing a Link from Tears of the kingdom in the new year. It looks like another banger. I’ve definitely been interested in the Jada toys sf figures but my problem is that I’ve only ever seen one in person. Target never ever has them. They seem to sell out fast.
Love your top 10s! This one felt pretty stacked from figures that you reviewed this year; so I can already expect to see a lot of familiar faces come your ‘top 10 figures of 2024’ list ;P. You know, I actually wasn’t planning on picking up any Jada figures because I’m already happy with my Storm ones, but you’re playing no small part in sorely tempting me to pick up one or two Jada figures of characters that Storm never made figures for.
5 years means an even distribution would see about 20% of the list coming from this year. It's not an even distribution though since quality isn't distributed evenly. Even with recency bias, i only have 2 figures in the top 10 from this year. The jada, naruti, and mdlx lines started prior to this year so assigning them to this year isn't accurate.
Some of these (like Jada) may have started before this year, but Guile for example, which you reviewed this year, is clearly one of your favorite Jada releases. So that’s what I mean by familiar faces 😄. The same is true for standout figures that released this year from lines that started before 2024 😛
Man I honestly thought Super Shredder would’ve been in your top 5. Surprised it didn’t even make it to the top 10. Although I have to agree with your #1 ranking. What Jada has been able to pull off with the SF line is nothing short of amazing! They deserve their flowers for giving us such great figures at a reasonable cost and without having to cut any corners . I thoroughly enjoyed this top 10.
Personally think the revoltech my hero line has a lot of stand out figures, specifically their Deku and their bakugo figures. The whole line is a lot of bang for your buck ngl. There are qc issues but they all look amazing and pose amazing.
As a collector of both Jada Street Fighter and Marvel Legends, Jada SF's charm gets more apparent the more you complete the line. Height scale is consistent, aesthetics are consistent, etc. With ML, you'll occasionally have to wish that their proportions (especially with females) is correct. The more Street Fighter figures from Jada you collect, the more it widens the gap with ML.
14:05 I was waiting for Jada to pop up but I personally disagree about the style. I think they look great, of course not perfect but they look awesome to me. I think my top figures are between Cammy and Deejay
The new Sonic movie figures are incredible, Shadow's easily one of my favorite figures to release this year. Now we need some game-style figures with their level of engineering
The Jada Toys SF line is SO good that Storm Collectibles got salty and wants to compete with Jada figures. Well, good luck SC, you never finish a line of any product you put out.
Great list Anthony. My favorites from this list are the neca turtle characters, Cooler, Samus and the street fighters. I also think the Jada sf definitely deserve number 1
I'm sorry, I just have to say this again because you bring it up in every video featuring the Jada SF line - the sculpts on these figures are not 'stylized', they are not 'cartoony' 'versions' of the characters. They are how the characters look in the actual video game called Street Fighter II that you might be familiar with. Every OTHER depiction of them is 'stylized' - these are trying to emulate the original sprites and in-game portraits. If you don't think they're doing a good job at that, that's fine. And if you would personally prefer a more realistic take on the characters, that's fine, too. But it's not some wild left-field take on the art - it's supposed to be the original.
The style doesn't match the sprites, the artwork, or the select portraits. It's a stylized take. You can say it's not all you want but it's not true and you only have to actually look at the figures and the source images. It's right there in front of you.
@AnthonysCustoms I respect your work on here but you are absolutely out of your mind, lol. Please play actual Street Fighter II again and try to set aside the 20 years of looking at your Sota figures and whatever else.
Jada's Street Fighter line is showing other companies what's up, especially at their price points. When the price does inevitably go up, I will be there for them as long as they stay consistent. This line is the epitome of a business that cares about the customer's money.
I still remember that 10/10 of Jada Fei Long figure, I was not into ST figures but after your review I started to think about their quality at this price point and now I bought them all, I still waiting my favorite ST character Vega for next wave.
From the last 5 years I'd have to check my collection, but number 1 is probably the Limtoys last of us figures, and the Leon Kennedy figure. I loved the accessories and the price didn't feel horrible. Figma has definitely stepped up and has better figures now. Snail Shell has given me lots of really nice figures. I love the ultimate Gohan from figuarts as hes my favorite character so im biased there. The Gi joe figures and the Valaverse action force have given me some solid troopers for the price point. Jada Toys has really stepped up and given people what they want and im excited for their Cyberpunk figures. Overall these past few years we've definitely gotten some really good figures, and sadly some really bad figures. Thanks for the list Anthony and keep doing the work that other shills wont do. Cant wait for your figure line.
I've definitely fallen off collecting over the last 5 year but theres been some real gems that have come out. I recognize, have, or wanted most of this list.
The Flame Toys Optimus is incredible. I had to get their Nemesis version as a centerpiece in my Nemesis Prime setup. It's so good. Jada deservedly gets their spot for the value and care they put into their figures.
As always, love your videos and perspective. Surprisingly, I own nothing on this list. When I consolidated over the last few years, my collection is almost 90% new Marvel Legends (mid-2023 releases to now) and frankly I would say I buy about 3/4 of those under retail. I’m anxiously awaiting Jada’s Akuma though!
Great list! I’m surprised Venompool didn’t make an honorable mention, but pretty much everything else Hasbro has done the past 5 years has been less than honorable, so giving them a shout out for a job well done might not be in order.
This video might cost me $300 lol. I was kinda surprised super shredder was an honorable mention. I remember that review and also the fat batman review where you showed him at the end because you liked it so much. SOLID list tho.
You should do a list of your favorite Marvel Legends from the past. It would be nice to hear you talk positive about them for once instead of being stuck harping in the negatives with the recent figure waves.
I Haven't actually "handled" a Jada Toys Street Fighter figure. as a die-hard ML freak (they're bad, but good-ish sometimes), I had to buy the Jada Chun-Li Player 2 Pink version out of curiosity. Still I haven't taken her out of the box because I didn't have any others to display her with. So, thank you for hard-confirming that they are a good line, and I've now got Dhal, and Guile coming to my home to join Miss Li.
I remember u liked my comment for the best 100 figs of the decade. Crazy that was 5 years ago. Ty for the content and saving me a lot of money. Cheers.
I love the Jada line and think that the only thing I'd want them to do is apply a wash to bring out some of the details. Some of them get lost. Even with that I like to think they're shaming other companies into doing better work.
I was thinking that Illidian would have been on the list either. I think you should not look at the IP since that is something for lawyers and courts to figure out. You are a toy reviewer, so let the toy stand for itself. Also, this isn't a bootleg figure but a unique sculpt done by Hero Toys. Funny think is there are now KO versions of Hero Toys Illidian now selling for $45 to $60.00 bucks. I mistakingly bought a KO and its 85% as good for 1/3 the price. So a 3rd party company is hacing their unlicensed toy bootlegs. Thats high praise and kinda makes Hero Toys the victim and makes their toy legit. Some of the absolute best Transformers are from companies that made figures that quite honestly made Hasbro up their game. The Magnificent Mecha MM01 is BETTER than Three Zeros version, AND probably the best movie Optimus prime of all time and it transforms to a perfect photo realistic semi truck.
Just started watching your videos, and while I don't collect or have much interest in figures I really appreciate watching someone knowledgeable and passionate about their hobby. I've noticed that a lot of your older videos seem to be more popular than your new content despite a high jump in the quality. Do you think this is because there are less people interested than 10 years ago or is it that the videos are just older?
Really good list Anthony! Was a little surprised not to see any Mafex on it, but when it comes to the balance between quality and price point, it's honestly hard to argue with your picks lol.
Awesome, Jada is also on my top list not just because of the figure but the price point and what bunch of stuff in it... Also for me, the Mcfarlane Genestealer is so underrated for its quality.... It can be in the honorable mention as well. ❤
As soon as I picked up the Red Outfit Chun (the regular release wasn’t available at Gamestop), I was surprised by how good it was. The Cammy, even with the small problems in QC, poses better than characters that should do the same for the price point. It is ridiculous. They both are next to the Dread Samus because of course they are.
Neca Predators? Heat Boys Turtles? Robosen Megatron? Those new biker mice and street sharks were pretty good. Anything in the Hammond collection. Neca D&D figs. Diamond Select Hulks! Also the xesray Minotaurs and Storm Baki figs. That MDLX line should be #1 by a mile. Then Jada at a very distant 2nd.
This video might cost me $300 lol. I was kinda surprised super shredder was an honorable mention. I remember that review and also the fat batman review where you showed him at the end because you liked it so much. SOLID list tho. I woulda put a classified figure in there.
I would put Hot Toys and Mezcos in mine put you don’t normally review those collect them or even care for them so my list is basically entirely different. I do have that Ralph and he definitely belongs on the list. I can’t really complain about your list because a good majorly I don’t even own because of unfamiliarity of said product or just wasn’t interested in buying them.
Not a single Marvel Legends in the list, plus the rib at the end. Ah, very satisfying. LOLJK. Wake up, Hasbro! You're already reaching SH Figuarts' price point, but the quality is still inferior to Jada's.
Surprised to see two DC Multiverse figures but 0 Marvel Legends... And I can't blame you at all because these figures haven't improved that much in all those years. Kind of a sad situation for Hasbro. I still remember what you said about the Giant-Man being another Marvel Legends but bigger. Nice figures but nothing really special about them. Hope they can step up their game for next year but my expectations are very low already after that Unlimited Spidey reveal 😬
This list is awesome, but based purely on your own ratings and the fairly consistent quality, I’m honestly surprised to see that Classified has no representation. Just as good as Jada. Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow got damn near perfect ratings on this channel, and they are every bit as good as Guile or Cammy.
Very good list! Always enjoy these videos. I can't spend the amount of money a Flametoys figure costs, but I'm quite happy with my Rodimus MDLX ( I will eventually get more, their Megatron is next), and I did get Flametoys Arcee modelkit. I also got an Amazing Yamaguchi Joker, and I love it. I recommend it to you. Happy holidays from México, Anthony!🎉🎉🎉
Hey Anthony what's the best affordable Dragonzord figure? Just the dragon form I don't need it to transform. Hasbro released some small zord two packs several years ago that connected to a pretty nice affordable Megazord. If there was a similar Dragonzord I'd be thrilled.
Maybe zord ascension project? I never opened mine but it looks to be nice. Im actually selling it if you're interested. The only other ones i can think of world be the src or the retro remake style ones and i think both of those are more expensive.
Well again. Storm collectables has a Street fighter Alpha line coming out. 6 inch and in almost the same price range as Jada. And Ryu and Ken look awesome. Yeah i got the Naruto from this year and he is in my top ten....I think Sakara too. Though I'm semi cheaper but not....studio series 86 Optimus prime is my figure of the year. But not a bad list. I like the look of Jada. But I also want not so cartoony looking as well. So I'm interested in Storms alpha line.
I own some of the figures on your top 10 but I wouldn't place anyone of them in my top 10 since mine would be composed mainly of Chinese 3rd party Transforming Action Figures with a couple of other Chinese 3rd party Action Figures such as Moshow, HeatBoys and Hero Toys. Just so you know a Chinese 3rd party company called Wonderful-Trans released a Prime that can actually transform into a perfect alt mode and has the same quality, articulation and look as the Flame Toys one for $150 shipped with import taxes (shipped to the USA would be even less since it's free). Moshow and HeatBoys release originally designed Action Figures with the same quality of materials, paint, sculpt, hardware, accessories and overall engineering as Flame Toys for at least half the price if not less /they go up for prices between $160/$250 depending on if it's a first release or a rerelease (Moshow are a bit more expensive and the rereleased figures go up in price, HeatBoys most expensive one goes for $175). I'm a bit occupied with work at the moment but as soon as I'm free i will be posting a follow up comment with my top 10 from the last 5 Years.
It’s crazy how I knew at least 9 of the figures from this list just by looking at the outline from the thumbnail. 😭 probably because I watch too many reviews. 😂
Thought Hero Toys Giant Killer (Illidian) was a definate for this list. Kinda surprised it isnt. If you didn't mind reviewing it but your morals decide not to let you keep it. Please put me down FIRST in your next toy sale! I mistakenly got a KO of the Hero Toys Giant Killer.
[the opinionated] "Yamaguchi Spiderman looks like a robot" [meanwhile] MCU suite renditions have PCB trace-lines & heavily comprised of Stark-tech enhancements. 🤣

I really like that thumbnail. It makes me think of video games showing you all the hidden characters to unlock
Thanks

I bet the Shadow would look nice with the Handgun from the Bride of Chucky 2 Pack, should give it the hunky look for his small figure
Best feature for Tokka and Rahzar is that they have facial articulation. dont see that too often
This video might cost me $300 lol. I was kinda surprised super shredder was an honorable mention. I remember that review and also the fat batman review where you showed him at the end because you liked it so much. SOLID list tho. I woulda put a classified figure in there.
It's the lack of bicep swivel that kept shredder from going higher
I bought several figures from McFarlane's White Knight line and I hadn't even read the stories at that point.... They're just that good.
I didn't even know it existed before the figures but they were a must for me
I would put Hot Toys and Mezcos in mine put you don’t normally review those collect them or even care for them so my list is basically entirely different.
Yes! This should be good. I love list videos!
This must of been a hard choice. We are so spoiled as collectors the last few years.
Memory / mety toys should of had a spot
almost did. might for 2024 but im not sure about adding 3p stuff to the lists. unfair advantage in some regards.
Oh, this will be a fun watch. With how much you cover I'm really curious what falls under this umbrella for you.
Great list
And now we need the worst…
I can’t wait for that eventual video
I hope it's coming! And that stupid Haslab Giant Man should be at the very top (bottom?) 😂
@@telephantasm4070 the whole SH Figuarts Berserk line gonna be in there
That is alot of Jada :) Hope they get more IP's to work with, MK is screaming out for nice affordable figures.
Cant believe the whole list was marvel legends
Have to give credit where it's due
Any plans on making an updated top ten Spider-Man action figures list?
Eventually
I'm very curious to hear Anthony's opinion on Storm Arenas smaller 6in street fighter line. Those have a lot of potential.
We'll have to wait and see. Competition is always a good thing
I knew there would be some Marvel & DC jabs!!🤦♂️🤣🤣
It's not throwing jabs to compare things that aren't performing properly against things that are.
Hasbros seething 😂
You should check out the Figma Demon's Souls Fluted Knight if you haven't. I'd put it close to the Dread Samus in terms of quality and engineering
I wanted to do many times but the armor design keeps me from going in on it
Actually I have a question, are you going to review the revoltech batman from arkham knight?
Yes
such a good video transformers fans up rn ‼️🔥🔥
Love this list, man. Just curious what Mafex figure did you almost incude in the list, if there's any at all?
Nightwing. He's just too simple for the price to make the cut
Surprised to not see the 1000toys Noble 6 here…
lmao
Clearly the best of the best
Send me a link on social media. I can't believe it's the same quality as flame for that price even without licensing
It’s crazy how I knew at least 9 of the figures from this list just by looking at the outline from the thumbnail. 😭 probably because I watch too many reviews. 😂
Samus took the cake? I thought that was Cammy lol.
Is jadas megaman figures grouped in with the street fighter ones for that no.1 spot?
No. They're cool but not super outstanding given the simplicity
I just didn't think it was fair to put it on the list since they aren't playing by the same rules. Perhaps you'll see it in another list
U should give mafex mk50 Iron man a try i feel like it is a slept on figure with tons and tons of accesories and 10/10 design
It might be great but i just have no interest in the later, nano suits
@ yeah I get It , still that figure is my favorite in my collection right now so versatile and complete. Great list!!
[the opinionated] "Yamaguchi Spiderman looks like a robot"
[meanwhile] MCU suite renditions have PCB trace-lines & heavily comprised of Stark-tech enhancements. 🤣
