One of my favorite N64 games. We had 2 before finding 1 at an EB and even though they aren't deep I love them for their weirdness and music. Imagine a 2D platformer with the tongue mechanic? Or bigger stages? We need Chameleon Twist 3 godammit.
Dude I've been looking for this game for years. I'm positive this is one of my favorite games from when I was a kid. Just watching this video just now, I felt such a familiarity. I played it when I was very young, before elementary school, so I never knew the name. I'm going to have to get this now, thank you for helping me find this game.
I personally prefer Chameleon Twist 2 but both make for a few fun hours if you don't try and judge them too harshly. The outdoor environments and the ability to stick your chameleons tongue to most walls makes most obstacles in Chameleon Twist 2 clearable in multiple ways. I even got used to the new chameleon models after a while. I really like Fred's sad expression because it's funny to have a sad main character in a game as cheery as this. Nice review as usual Gleen. I like to see that you enjoyed many of the more flawed or obscure platformers like this one and Starshot.
We have this game somewhere in the storage room, it was very frustrating as a kid cuz I was like 4 lol but I remember spending hours and hours playing and still overall enjoying it
I never played the first one but I really, really loved this one as a kid. Don't know exactly why, but there was something to it. I only played the first four levels over and over again back then. Never saw the last two worlds for some reason. I probably got stuck in the fourth world lol
Rented this one from our local Blockbuster back in the day and I remember it being really fun (although I liked the first one better specifically because of multiplayer). Ended up purchasing it from Blockbuster on the cheap when they were closing a majority of their stores. Haven't played it since, but might give it another play through soon.
It's funny how rare this game is in PAL but how common it is in NTSC. I prefer this one though as with many sequels, as the features from the first game are more well-rounded
Surprisingly this would fall under the category of 'Never Played' despite buying a large chunk of a Blockbuster's N64 games when they weren't going to rent them out anymore. From the looks of it I wouldn't have thought much of it besides Super Mario 64 and Bomberman Hero and maybe another game my platforming library was non-existent.
About equal for me. But I loved all the obscure platformers I could get my hands on back in the day. Chameleon Twist 1 and 2 were a great time for me. But they sort of mech together memory wise with how similar they are. lol
Chameleon Twist completely evaded me at the time. It's a shame as I think I would have really enjoyed it. I've never minded games being short as long as they are fun and interesting.
I recently tried these two games. I didn't play either game vey much, but I did like the second one more than the first, mostly because of the graphics and the camera positioning. I thought the graphics in the first game were kind of ugly and the camera position felt too limited. The second game looked nicer and felt more open.
I never played this sequel but got the first one for £14.99 in Easter 99. I thought it was a fun game but as you mention the difficulty was too low, I think I finished it by the afternoon and i was taking my time as i could tell it would be over pretty quickly
I don't know why, but I prefer the character models of the first game over the US version of Chameleon Twist 2. I mean, yeah, he looks more like a chameleon, with those human-esque chameleon eyes. It just looks weird to me.
Chameleon twist 2 had better looking levels and overall was improvement from the first one i don't think the game is THAT easy though i mean the levels are pretty long but the sequel always was the most superior to me i rented it back in the day and liked it instantly
Sweet, early footage of Yooka-Laylee!
*Alpha footage*
SerfaBoy this reminds me alot of yooka laylee lol
Had this as a kid. I honestly can't remember how I got it but I loved it to death.
Thank you for reviewing the obscure titles I didn't have the guts to rent when I was a kid!
I'm soo grateful that you review nothing but N64 games! And I love your voice! I can listen to you all day :)

Maybe one day, could see it working on switch kinda like snake pass

Another SUPER review as always GlennDust!!!!

Greetings from Brazil :) I love your videos, never leave youtube!
I beat this and the original as a child! I still have them.
I've never played either Chameleon Twist game. I still want to pick both up for my collection since I like platformers so much.
Glenn, when are you going to do another Japanese eye episode? I think you need to cover a few more games.
We have this game somewhere in the storage room, it was very frustrating as a kid cuz I was like 4 lol but I remember spending hours and hours playing and still overall enjoying it
the first one is one of my favorite games for the console. This is definitely a game ill get eventually
I remember playing this as a kid. I loved it but could never beat the game.
90 or so games left for you to review! Keep it up Glenny!
I should give these games a try if I have the opportunity, but I only play on original N64 so I'll have to wait until I can find the cartridges.
Geek Gamer Gui get an Everdrive
Very underrrated game. A great choice for those looking for a colorful, not-too-difficult, platformer with catchy music and a Japanese vibe.
Got it as a kid, there were no rental stores where I live.
It wasn't easy for me, I played it for weeks and couldn't beat it.
5:46 Angry Birds!

I barely remember this game except I rented it from blockbuster and enjoyed it.
Can you review the castlevania games for the n64?
Good idea.
Loved this game to death when I was little and couldn't remember the name.
You forgot to mention there was a bowling mini-game in this... Idk how good it was but I definitely remember liking it as a kid
Best retro reviews ! How do you use the content And not get copyrighted I want to make a video reviews as well
It’s trial and error much if the time
It's funny how rare this game is in PAL but how common it is in NTSC. I prefer this one though as with many sequels, as the features from the first game are more well-rounded
I rented this game so much that my grandma bought it for me for my birthday once I'd love to play this game again oh the nostalgia
thats such a cool memory thanks for sharing!
We need chameleon twist 3 now
I never played this one but I remember loving the firsts ones multiplayer.
this game looks so much fun!
I just bought the Nintendo 64 Anthology and the first thing I saw was your picture. Fuck yeah!
used to rent this one frequently as a kid because i was never good at completing games lol really fw the tongue mechanic
Those flames at 5:51 look a LOT like angry birds.
now you mention it....
Surprisingly this would fall under the category of 'Never Played' despite buying a large chunk of a Blockbuster's N64 games when they weren't going to rent them out anymore.

I repurchased this title for my collection, as it was one the odd balls i had growing up. Along with your Mischiefmakers and iggies wreckin balls.
I personally think that the sequel has more vibrant and well polished graphics. definitely going with the sequel here
the seekquel is better than the first game. I remember renting both and I liked this one more
5:36 The original angry birds ? haha
haha good spot! someones getting sued
I only played a demo of one of these games, can't recall which, but it was good.
About equal for me. But I loved all the obscure platformers I could get my hands on back in the day. Chameleon Twist 1 and 2 were a great time for me. But they sort of mech together memory wise with how similar they are. lol
i need more glenndust
it is pretty collectable, if you are looking for a Boxed complete mint PSA graded one, it can set you back over £200 easy
Chameleon Twist completely evaded me at the time. It's a shame as I think I would have really enjoyed it. I've never minded games being short as long as they are fun and interesting.
This one looks very interesting... kinda reminds me to Bomberman Hero
I recently tried these two games. I didn't play either game vey much, but I did like the second one more than the first, mostly because of the graphics and the camera positioning. I thought the graphics in the first game were kind of ugly and the camera position felt too limited. The second game looked nicer and felt more open.
Glad you at least checked them out 😁
I remember renting both games. Unfortunately, I didn't get far at the time because I rented them during the period of time when I skipped tutorials.
Got the first and second one at a pawnshop years ago pretty good game
This looks fantastic, great review. Though I just had a look on ebay for PAL prices :|
So are either of these games worth picking up today Glenn? I'm a big fan of platforms so I'm considering picking them up.
I like CT1 more than 2, but if I am playing 2, it has the be the japanese version because it retained the cute style for the chameleon heads.
The New Zelda Breath of The Wild ''parasol mechanic'' just come from this game. Amazing game one of the best games ever made.
I cant wait for Chameleon 3. Aka yooka laylee
I'm really looking forward to it too now it's gonna be on the Switch
I never played this sequel but got the first one for £14.99 in Easter 99. I thought it was a fun game but as you mention the difficulty was too low, I think I finished it by the afternoon and i was taking my time as i could tell it would be over pretty quickly
I'd really like to track down a copy. I remember renting the 1st game in 1997. 🦄🦄🦄
I rented this game once at Blockbuster when I was a kid because I couldn't find a copy of _Super Mario 64..._
love your vids bro
Games you wish you kept on to from the younger days
Amen to that
I don't know why, but I prefer the character models of the first game over the US version of Chameleon Twist 2. I mean, yeah, he looks more like a chameleon, with those human-esque chameleon eyes. It just looks weird to me.
Just might give this a try on an emulator
Glenn, can you review Donkey Kong 64 and Banjo-Tooie?
TheGoldenJiggy he's getting to it lol have faith
Never played either. Noticed they look more like chameleons in this game.
Aw i wish they kept the original skins
This gives me major Yooka-Laylee vibes.
sad that this is a hidden gem this looks fun as shit . Like he would have made a good smash character and everything
looks good.
Hu never heard of this game wow
I hate the design of the chameleon on this game. In the first one he was so cute and charming. Anyways, the first games was better in every aspect.
Owned and thought it was a wasted purchase like the original...
Gr8 vid!
Thought this game was weird as a kid.
yookalaylee??
Fun game, but just go to this game and skip the original.
Chameleon twist 2 had better looking levels and overall was improvement from the first one i don't think the game is THAT easy though i mean the levels are pretty long but the sequel always was the most superior to me i rented it back in the day and liked it instantly
