To give their time some perspective, this Texas team would've won BRONZE at the Tokyo Olympics. A COLLEGIATE team would've made the podium at the Olympics, they ran *that* fast, that is insane!

Instead of recruiting US citizens they got foreign nationals. It won the title for them but kept US women from having their chance at success and probably even scholarship assistance.
Here is what Ms. Ezinne said: “My parents were born in Nigeria, I got a lot of ties with Nigeria. So I knew it would be nice to Rep Nigeria . . . That’s why I wanted to compete for homeland.”
However, Nigerian authorities were not so pleased with Ms. Ezinne. This is what they said: July 13, 2022 Reading Time:
"The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has reacted to the outburst of one of its athletes, Ezinne Abba, who made damning accusations about her exclusion from Team Nigeria to the World Championships starting Friday in Oregon, United States.
PREMIUM TIMES reported Ms Abba’s frustration as the 21-year-old alleged she was only told of her exclusion from the World Championships 40 minutes before her flight to Oregon.
According to the University of California, Berkeley graduate, the AFN and the minister were culpable for her shattered dream of representing Nigeria on the global stage after only just completing the switch of her allegiance from the United States to Nigeria.
"The AFN Secretary General, Adisa Adeniyi Beyioku, said Abba should know she cannot force herself into the team after failing to compete in any individual event at the Nigerian Championships in Benin City last month."

@donovanrobinson1843 It is not as simple as accusing me of having a small mind because I am the one thinking beyond the box. @@donovanrobinson1843Do you see any US citizens competing for other countries' national championships unless they have dual citizenship? Track and Field is more of an individual sport than most therefore it is most vulnerable to foreign
incursions and dominance such as the @donovanrobinson1843 Texas relay team having no US citizens representing Texas. I am actually an internationalist minded person but when we have our National T & F championships we should have our nation's citizen students competing. We have needy students here being deprived of financial and competitive opportunities that should be theirs. How many times did Julian Alfred run for example? That is the number of times our US women did not get to compete. Furthermore, how else to you think we can get more of OUR needy talent developed? In the USA we have areas where those growing up there are just as deprived as in other countries. This would be one means of helping to overcome that disadvantage they encounter.
@donovanrobinson1843 At least we should change the name to something else if it is not going to be National. And we should subtract any points won by foreign nationals from the team totals.
Next you'll want our Olympic Team to be based on international tryouts.
