Vision Board Collage Based on My "Perfect Day" of Connection

- Have you ever made a vision board before? I made my first one today and it's easy to see that I am NOT a minimalist, despite what my Pinterest goals might lead you to believe - haha!
I followed a prompt from Nicholas Wilton ( @Art2Life ) and I wrote down what would make up my perfect day. After seeing my agenda for that day, I realized what I was craving was CONNECTION. So I used the agenda and the word "connection" to fuel my vision board as I pulled images from magazines and (eventually) glued them down. I don't know if I can articulate each image to a specific thing, but the items are all pleasing to me in one way or another. For example, the blue table setting is reminiscent of my love of blue & white dishes and peaceful home decor and the puppy reminds me of my mom's dog and the dogs I had growing up - and what's more pure than the love of a dog? Comfortable sweaters + cozy mittens & hot cocoa + time spent on the lake + kid-like process art googley-eyes + raspberries + rainbows + circles -- what's not to like?

I started collating vision boards after I retired. I use a scrap book page to form my vision board, because at the end of the year I put the page in the scrapbook. The scrapbook page is smaller and easier to manage for me. BUT, I challenged myself by alternating each year. One year the board will be in Black and white motif, the next year colors. But a perfect day vision board is unique! I plan to try it!
I thought it was a fun prompt too - even beyond the collage, it really helped me figure out what I was wanting more of in life ❤️❤️❤️

I don't personally make vision boards ... I don't know why but that's okay. Maybe it would wind up too big.
I heard you mention peri-menopause. What helped me was the book "The Wisdom of Menopause" by Christiane Northrup (she was a gynecologist in chicago). It has a ton of information and is very helpful. Just sayin' 😉

@@jackieschomburgart I was in it but I just couldn’t put the time in it right now so I backed out. I’m a LCPC and art therapist and a lot of the first couple of weeks he was talking about is what I do in groups. Plus, I have a daughter getting married and didn’t really have the extra funds. I can always tell who has been trained by their paint pallet set up. I tend to find his graduates and watch them on UA-cam. Art is a window to the soul- I learn so much by my patients by their choice of materials, use of space and tolerance for mistakes (.plus much more)
@dawnwolfe9465 It’s funny - I learned the palette trick from Louise Fletcher, and she had taken CVP several years ago so it came to me third-hand 🤣 I can imagine there’s a lot of overlap for you in the first weeks! It has definitely been familiar for me as well, but I liked the small spins on the prompts that he used. They were just different enough from my norm that it allowed me to zoom out a bit and gain new insights from the exercises. I’m already a couple weeks behind so I’m hopeful that there’s still much to be learned in the subsequent weeks.
