here in hawaii that is a small one.
HAHA! I hate you Dylan! :) I wish I lived there!
sometimes I wish I could live in your backyard.
Dylan T also here in southamerica
Also in Kenya that's very tiny
Those are common here in Jamaica. We also have deeper yellow one than that that is sooooo sweet, literally but don't have a special name for it
Great video and a great avocado! I had one of these not too long ago, saved the seed, planted it and the stem has finally pushed through. Can't wait to see what the fruit will be like. Cheers.
I grew up in south FL and this is the variety that is growing in every backyard in Fort Lauderdale. I now prefer Haas but the Florida Avocado (as we always refer to it) is still really delicious. Enjoy!
I remember seeing twice bigger than the ones on the vid. Somewhere in FL, Kissimmee or Lakeland, I don't remember exactly where. I saw those huge trees on every backyard only thing they have less taste
jesus fuentes unfortunately the ones in Florida are tasteless compare to the ones in Dominican Republic
How do you know this is the exact variety? 'Catalina' is a large very common variety in South Florida ( especially amongst Cubans), so is Doni, Pollock, Dupuis, and Simmonds, amongst others, 'Bernecker' I'm not too familiar with.
i found what i searched in your channel.thanks for you guys .huge avocado seems tasty.watching from himalayan country NEPAL.
Like you guys said, those guys are pretty standard here in Florida. I pop the seed out, then add pink salt and olive oil, and mix it up in the skin, using the halves like bowls.
OMG! That avocado is huge! Looks delicious!
I got 5 of these trees growing it's awesome
Puerto Rico and the Dominican republic have these everywhere, my wife's grandparents have huge trees of these avocados, by the way nice cut , that's the rite way to cut them, nice video
They are shaped as the same ones that we have here in Puerto Rico. but mine are a bit smaller and very sweat. I was given the round one which tastes like butter and also tastes great but this 2 are babies still. I can't wait for my big avocado tree starts giving. Great video
I've seen twice as bigger than those in FL. Humongous avocados and tree. My favorite are the palm trees that only grow there, beautiful.
I have a tree that been producing about 300 avocados annually. The fruits are smaller but it's the creamy type. Very tasty!
Love this! Hey Jake, could you please follow up with this guy to report on how his tree is doing from that gorgeous seed!? 🌿👍❤
Im in florida my friend has one in his backyard, most of the fruits go to waste, he has a huge german shepard that noms on the ones that make it to the ground, she had the most beautiful coat from eating so many of them hahaha, i like the flavor of the haas variety more though but still all good and a really productive tree.
Oh yeah. That is the type of avocado that my parents have in their back yard. The tree was giant. 👍👍👍👍🎉
It's similar to avocado in my country.. We called it 'butter avocado' and the most favorite varieties to eat
Small to the the Caribbean, we usually slice them from top to bottom into 4 pieces
take out the seed and peal the skin from top to bottom.
I found these at WalMart here in tyler texas today!! they are Awesome!! and Sweet!!
Hi Jake, I, just this week began watching your videos, and love them. But I must comment on this avocado to you. I live in Trinidad and Tobago, and I must declare that is a regular a regular sized avocado. Glad you enjoyed it. PS, My mother always say avocados are a great replacement for butter.

That is a monster avocado !!!
I have never seen an avocado that big !!!
In Spanish they are called aguacate.
Thanks guys. Thanks for the avocado Shamus.
From where I live, we have avocado variety thats bigger than that, about 1kilo per per piece and oblong in shape.
Yes! We eat them in FL! I finally ate one of the FL avocados that tasted really good. I growing the seed out in a cup of water. It's grown 2 in. in a week! Good luck on growing it.
Plant 2 at a time 12 to 30 ft away from each other.
You need to graft with agood type if you dont then it need along time to harvest about 10 years
I had a GIANT HASS Avocado it was 3 pounds it was so perfect.. it was the size of a 500watt E40 bulb . I planted the all ready growing seed(yeah it was all ready growing inside the avocado ) it's almost 2 feet tall all ready, I just planted it 5 months ago.
In Puerto Rico we have them and they are great with soups and rice and beans
Interesting. I open cados the same way. In CA there is a "Daily 11" cado tree that puts out about 3-5 lb fruits. There is also a gourmet cado called a Jan Boyce that you can not find very easily, but a few nurseries have them in stock as trees. The Jan Boyce is supposed to be the BEST tasting cado anywhere. It is about 11-15oz in weight though but folks love it. I have not had one. I am hunting down a Daily 11, Macarthur, Fuerte and Sir Prize.
Those are everywhere here in Puerto Rico.. sadly they go to waste..
aww what a shame:/
true in St Thomas as well
faithlilis u
Why dont yall export them?
we have lots kind of avocados here in Philippines i love to eat thats fruits...so yummy
When I lived in Hawai'i, there were two huge, old trees in the back yard with that type avocado. You have to be _very_ careful walking near them or under them lol
You can find big avocado like that at any Asian markets
I think I have this tree in my yard. The fruit is enormous; the seed has a very pointed apex. I did not note a pumpkin taste, though. The skin is thinner than other avocados and slices through easily. It scared me to watch you cut it! Yummy.
normal here in brazil... and in brazil it's spelled brasil... ikr
most avocado in indonesia is like that. we call it butter avocado. very creamy and delicious for deserts mixed with condenced milk.
We have these in my yard! 💖💖💖
My uncle grows the 'Lorena' avocado in Granada Colombia. It looks pretty similar to that one.
to us this avocado is normal in the caribbean. glad you enjoyed it. the smaller ones that you may know is more guacamole ready and this one is more stiffer.
We have those in our stores in New York they're pretty popular especially for Hispanics its texture is more watery then the ones you make guacamole with
Very common in Taiwan. We lived in Taichung and were really spoilt with tropical fruits, tea, mushroom juice, and TaiChi.
Did you check out qigong
Jake, I wanted to know if you water your plants with straight groundwater Or do you run your ground water through a filter first. if you do filter your water. have you made a video on that?
Hi Jake love your videos. Like to make a avocado plant the big one and wonder If Canada, Laval we could plant the big avocado in a vase and winter bring indoors?
MacNcheez..black beans..and a Puerto Rican avocado...some fritos for crunch and dinner is SERVED.
Here in the philippines, we eat that with condensed milk or with sugar. We also make it into ice cream or popsicles.
Sea salt and Mayo on that. I eat those here in Florida. I never saw a Hass until I grew up and moved out west.
Here Formosa we plant this variety.
Nice video Jake
These are everywhere in Surinam to and we also have red varieties
Those are the best and better. Salt and olive oil I used to spread it in Italian bread, DELICIOSOS!
Those avocados are great for salads and salsas coz they have firmer flesh even when they're ripe
We have that in Jamaica to I like the more common species better😁
In Brazil we mostly have this type of avocado so that's the normal one for us.
Fantastic specimen!
we have them in the Bahamas....big ones too
I saw those or something similar in Mexico. As I remember they were tasty but it has been years since I had one of those.
If you thought that was great, you should go to Zimbabwe. Some of the biggest Avos growing all through the streets and yummy and tasty like that one if not better. They also have potatoes as big as your head! We went and vacationed there for 6 months and I wish I had those Avos right now
and that particular avocado we have a lot here in Aruba
Those are the one I like, we have them in Peñuelas PUERTO RICO. in my Family land. They are meaty and delicious
where can I get one of these trees and how long does it take for the tree to start harvesting them
That is a very small avocado here in Paraguay, they usually are double or triple that
Those are the only avocados we have in the Bahamas. Sooooo yummy
we have them here in orlando fl.... they are more watery then buttery
It won't hurt the seed, if you use the knife to hit, twist and remove the seed from the flesh. The part you'd hit is the part of the seed that feeds the growing shoot. (I've started many avo seeds after removing the seed that way. No worries!)
Does Shamus O'Leary Tropical Fruit nursery ship fruit trees to customers in zone 9b (Houston, TX?)
This is our avocado in the Philippines they grow in our backyard and they are huge
Awesome video, bro. And yes, you are somewhat correct that some of us came from other planets. In fact, some of us have the alien genes. :)
Thank you for sharing this video.
Could you tell me the name of the avocado shown in the video and where I could buy a few if sold online
that is a variety of avocado from philippines dude.. we have a lot of that in our back yard..
Ok ! I am moving to Hawaii!! Is amazing big !! for a big and perfect guacamole
good video jake
I always see that avocado here in the Philippines..
That is small in Jamaica.
Good size, is it type A or B. The Noela avocado that grows in Australia weighs 1400 g.
Was it buttery like a Hass or was it watery like most large South Atlantic/Caribbean avocados?
Whaaaaa, that avocado seed is the size of regular avocados!
Same in Vietnam
The Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 1:23. That is why we have such a connection to nature😃. Great video!
YES, I definitely buy your seed theory (Y)
Michael Martinu ssen
I've seen some here too. They taste better to me though. My family goes crazy for the guacamole I make out of them lol
that's a baby avocado in Jamaica. there're avocado twice that size here in Jamaica
What species are the plants?
Christopher drown yep...In Trinidad..that's small...some are grafted!
Christopher drown these guys never been to the caribbean countries which has the very biggest avocados.st.lucia we have big round ones
the biggest avocados are in the Caribbean eg.st.lucia.( skin syays green even when ripe but its a round shape like 3 times bigger than what you have here
We're the bad seed. lol. I agree that the stores carry what sells and what looks pretty on the shelves. Grow your own food.
Come to Indonesia my friend, we got many of those big ones😊
nice i love it
I LOVE FINDING YOUR GIANT ALVACADOS AND BUY THEM.WHERE CAN I BUY THEM?
How long does it take for an avocado tree to produce? I am from the east....so the western garden species are foreign to me. Thanks!!
the usual day to day avocado in brazil....
In Acahay, Paraguay South America.
That looks delicious. I just need my salt and pepper lol
I love avocados as much as watermelon
Florida ♡
Oh this makes me want to eat a nice big burger
In Zimbabwe we also have avocados they are much bigger than this.
that's a normal sized Florida avocado!! haha!!
hey man do you know the documentary "there are no forests on earth"?
might be interesting to you!
Avacado... wonderful BOOGER-fruit! Amazing snot-nut.
That's how I felt when I was little, now I LOVE them. :D
avocado I love
that's the common vareity in the Brazil seens not enough mature to be eaten
Looks like a Fuentes avocado, or that's what we call them here in SoCal. I'm not much of a fan of Fuentes' taste. Fuentes are bigger, the skin is thinner, more delicate, glossy and a pretty green. The shelf life is very short, so it is for personal use. The Haas is the typical commercial avocado. I personally like a Reed avocado. I have an avocado grove that happened to come with a property we bought. I have two Fuentes and a few Reed trees just for our use. The other 1100 Haas trees are for market only. I have another 16 various fruit trees that were planted for personal use. I'm still learning about avocados in general.
amazing
in Brazil, that´s a normal avocado.
now you should see a brazilian CASHEW. I mean the FRUIT, not the NUT, which is only a small part on the top of the fruit.
stores sometimes health in intrest. i remember when ke wee and mango were unheard of in stores know see all meijers, walmart and krogers . so if people willing buy them they have them. if people stop buy them they through out bunch avacodes. then there might chance lose have them stores. hope not. that way things work stores stock what think poeple buy
