Yes, he’s just about the music , full stop. Sort of the opposite of Tom Cruise who used to have to be on the front of every magazine and get married (for about 2 or 3 yrs) in a big castle in Italy complete with all the Scientology big wig creeps there to try and present this massive image of success and so on. I watched an interview with Brian Johnson once. He said “None of us are on Facebook or Twitter. We don’t spend our time “Twitting””. I liked the way he even got the word wrong - “Twitting” as opposed to “Tweeting”. People who are on Facebook and Twitter every 5 minutes are often trying to present to everyone where they’ve been and what they’ve achieved in the last 5 minutes. AC/DC are just about the music , full stop.
Angus plays a sound he developed thru hard work and dedication, on his SG, that is undeniably and instantly recognisable to anyone that listens to Rock music. SUPERB!
Angus is a guitar legend. Underrated when fans are constantly hearing other artists name their influences. Sure his name comes up, but not as much as Page or Beck or some of those guys. Angus is right up there with the greatest ever.
Angus Young seems like such a great guy :) I discovered AC/DC when I was a child thanks to my dad who is a huge fan. I grew up with this band and my dream is to go to one of their concert !

One of the few bands that never sold out. Stuck to their simple sound of drums, bass and 2 guitars. No strings, no keyboards, no female backing vocalists, no saxophones, just an errant bagpipe. No unplugged albums, no greatest hits albums, no symphony albums, no reissues with bonus tracks or demo versions, no duets, collaborations, no outside song writers, no ballads, no concept albums, no studio fakery, just foot to the floor rock n roll. What’s funny is he’s playing High Voltage (A,C,D,C chord) and even explains he’s got this high voltage chant. Then goes off and sings riding down the highway playing the high voltage notes
Angus is such an inspirational person and guitar player. Watching and listening to him not just play but talk about his musical life and his own inspirations really want me to bring out the best in myself. I mean, just the way he uses the (relatively) simple minor pentatonic scale to create such jaw-dropping solos and with such stamina is simply second to none. You really can achieve anything if you put your mind to it, work hard and never give up no matter what life throws at you.
