Day-5: Rohtang Pass.
Rohtang Pass entry fee for a car, truck, or bus is Rs 500, and there is no permit fee for bikes. However, all vehicles must have a valid permit to visit the mountain pass. All vehicles must pay a congestion charge, for crossing Gulaba Bridge, of Rs 50 for bikes and cars and Rs 100 for buses.
The best time to visit Rohtang Pass is from May through October, when the road to Ladakh and Spiti is open. The weather of Rohtang Pass remains ideal to visit in May-June and October-November. The temperature in Rohtang Pass in April starts to warm up and the BRO begins working to open the pass in the summer season. The weather of Rohtang Pass in October begins to drop before it's eventually closed in the winter season. The climate of Rohtang Pass is cooler than Manali, due to its higher elevation. Winter is the best season to visit Rohtang Pass among honeymooners and families looking to enjoy fresh snowfall in Manali. The weather of Rohtang Pass is unpredictable as thunderstorms in monsoon are common.
