Sick upgrade man! I was thinking of getting this myself but I’ve decided I’m going to sell my E90 a year or less from now. I want something economical but something I can still have fun in. The F31 330i, Focus ST, and Mazda 6 all caught my eye and they’re all economical and fun when you want. I love my E90 but the mediocre 17 mpg in the city is getting old. Love the sound but somethings gotta give. I had plans to buy m sport seats, new bumpers, etc. but I guess I’m just maturing a bit and want a economical car. I still hope to own a E92 M3 or F82 M4 afterwards but the e90 is gonna have to go. Channels like yours made me appreciate my e90 but man I hate growing up and wanting a eco friendly daily instead of a nice sounding straight six lol The m sport seats were literally the next thing I wanted to do but my mind wants a economical car and I caved. I’ll enjoy it while I have it but it’s a for sure thing now. Maybe one day I’ll buy another NA E90 in a manual for the nostalgia 😞 I’ll still be watching your vids even though I will no longer be spending anymore money on my E90 other than maintenance. Your videos along with other E9X guys inspired me to film some of my own DIYs but never get around to edit them, let alone post them lol Anyways, looking forward to the M3 videos!

Haha fosure! Just really tight on money right now so most of the stuff for the m3 will have to wait for the meanwhile. Nevertheless, I hope you do get back into the bimmer soon here! I'm very shocked you get 17mpg in the city cause I usually average around 22-23mpg.

ImErice I may just suck it up and trade my e90 for a E92 335i (N55). May not be able to produce the power of the N54 but every owner compares the reliability of the engine to the N52. That’s pretty reassuring to me. I’ll go for a E90 335i if I can find one as they handle better thanks to the B pillar but the E92 335i is the common one to find. Rarely any E90 chassis.

As long as you're not modifying the fuck out of the N54/N55, reliability is going to be VERY similar to the N52. Only reason why those N54/N55 motors have a reputation of breaking down is because some people don't understand you need to upgrade certain parts of the ignition and fueling system if you're really aiming for anything over 400whp. If you're completely satisfied with just a stage 1 MHD tune with some nice burbles, then any N54 and N55 would be just fine. Otherwise, N55 is usually the best route to go if you're completely looking towards reliability over performance. Not saying the N55 can't produce power, but it will produce power significantly less compared to the N54.
Another thing I've noticed but I've found more E90 335i's than the E92 335i's on some listings. Usually the E90 variant is more cheaper than the E92 since the demand for coupes is higher than the sedans.
Hope this helps you out bro!

Idk your specific specs, but generally, you’d need to pin 4 to 9 and then 8 to 13. Just look at wiring diagrams to understand. The bolsters have no power to them. So you need to hook them up to a 12V. Usually your heated seats are powered, so you just need to bridge a connection and ground

Have done the same swap on my e91, still haven't figured out the Side bolster thing though. Please make an update if you figure out how to wire it to make them work! :D

It’s a coding issue. You just need to have them coded to the car since the car didn’t have the sports package from factory. Get it coded and it will work.

@@michaeljcaboose3758 That isn't my case though as i swapped to LCI Seats in my pre-lci. The connectors are wired differently. All that's needed is to re-wire the connector. Or just have power routed from somewhere else. Just haven't found a good/easy way to do it yet.

Do you need to code if your doing a alcantara sport seat to leather sport seat? Both have airbags

Finally got a hold of the sport seats in the cinnamon/terra brown! It was a really good deal that I could not pass up!
Also my old seats are for sale so if you are interested in my old seats, let me know! :)
Also this video isn't really meant to be a DIY of any sort. It was more or less of a walkthrough of how to swap seats on your BMW E90.
Justin Buice has an AMAZING video that goes really in depth on how to swap out your seats which you can check it out right here!

Does anybody know if you need to change the seat belt fasteners from the old seats to the new seats for the e92? I have the seat belt error. I have disconnected the battery and waited prior to changing the seats out.

Dammit I knew the side bolsters wouldn’t work. Mine don’t either. Idk if it’s missing a connection to the airbags in the bolsters or something that can be solved with coding.
