We see the curved bill thrashers here in the desert SW. they nest in cholla cactus by our neighbors home. Love seeing a different type. Ours have lovely songs. Thought they were mocking birds at first but after a summer of watching finally figured it out. I watch your feeder often. Enjoy all the birds and wildlife. Thank you.

One of my favorite birds. They just look like the color of fall to me.

We get them, but they are a rare treat for us. Fortunately there is a rail trail nearby where they and their cousins (catbirds and mockingbirds) are likelier to be seen because it is a perfect mix of "cover on the edge of open". Bless all our birds 🐦

This is so wonderful to watch! This is one of the big reasons as to why I’d want to have my own small acreage just outside a city. Though I have to ask… if I wanted to attract all sorts of small birds as well as crows… would the small birds be less likely to stick around? Would that significantly put the small birds in danger?
