This video looks at the 96 / 97 Shawn Michaels and Sycho Sid WWF Rivalry. Using clips from the Reliving The War series, this video tells the entire story of Shawn Michaels losing the WWF Championship to Sid at Survivor Series 1996 and it also tells the story of Shawn reclaiming the belt at the 1997 WWF Royal Rumble. Every promo, match and segment that featured Shawn and Sid are looked at during the build-ups to both matches. - Спорт
I loved this bit - "Sid isn't the most athletic superstar in the WWE" and 10 seconds later at 6ft 9inches and 320lbs - perfoms a kip up.... Loving the content as always
I know you're doing this compilations as easy ontent while you're moving, but honestly, there's value here to have all these bits covered. Some of them overlap with other main content videos you did, but still, it's good stuff. Being able to go back and focus on one particular feud, very valuable.
Top comment bud
Love this concentrating on individual feuds, could watch a lot more of this
It just weird cus hes talking way too fast and we cant let the stort sink in. Thanks for the rewind option
The guy is moving house and warns he won't be able to upload as frequently...proceeds to drop two top quality videos. What a guy
@@liamjones9115 its all a work
"You've gotta hit or be hitten! You've got to kick or be kicken!!!"
The one thing I loved about Psycho Sid is the fact that you have no clue what he's going to say but you will be entertained 😂😂😂
Especially when he asks for another take, when they're live...
@@billepperson2662 We're live, pal. - J.R.
"You're only half the man that I am, and I only have half the brain that you do!"
I'll always remember one backstage interview from the announcer table where Sid said something and then started laughing with his eyes squinted. JR(?) cuts in and Sid immediately goes straight-faced answering "Yeah?" Funny stuff.
I was first to comment so that makes me the man the master and the ruler of this comment section
Unlucky with that as someone was before ya. There's always next time though
That just means us important people were busy with "horsemen business"
No u were just lucky! 😂😂😂
Absolutely adore these videos. Thanks so much for your dedication in allowing us to re-live this amazing era
@@TruckerJenkins82 haha indeed it was.
When I'm working out, I feel like how Syd looks. Then when I look in the mirror...it's a lot more like Bastion Booger.
Easy to forget Sid could give a coherent promo every now and then. This was such a good time to be an 11 yr old wrestling fan. Crushed me that Sid beat HBK in that first match.
he could be a decent promo despite him having half the brain that you do! lol
Right because you were still a mark back then, as was I. ...I cheered for the good guys, booed the heels, the way a wrestling show is supposed to be run, nowadays the fans just do w/e they feel, I think the are bored, cuz the shows aren't as good.
@isthatyoubetha I guess that's one way to look at it. I was 11. Don't remember crying though.
This is around the time that Shawn was becoming a real pill head.
I never realized how tired he looked at Survivor Series
This was one of the more interesting feuds with how Sid was over and becomes champion. I just think that after he got lost in the shuffle with Bret, Austin, HBK and Taker. I will say though he did pretty well beating Shawn and Bret 3 times during this time. “Because he the master and the ruler of the world”
That HBK title run from 96 was the best version of HBK. He fought everybody.
Off to softball I go guys
That part where Sid says, "thank you my man" cracks me up every time as well. I replayed that part like 1000 times, even Bret Hart look like he's about to laugh.
😂😂
It's because it's so in-character, Sid very non-personal, giving gratitude where it's due, even though he's about to talk himself up to these two
Sycho Sid vs HBK was definitely one of HBK's better feuds as a Good Guy. This definitely deserves a revisit
I love this time machine it takes all of us back to the days when wrestling was great
I like to see Sycho sid going in the wwe wrestling hall of fame one day
A whole bulldog chin lock collection video from this wwf run would be enough content for a 2 hour video,I guess!!!😉
😂🤣😂🤣😂
Why would you limit it to 2 hours?
@@nomikes4392 I don't want spoil the surprise that it can last forever!
Can get enough of this chin lock marathons!
He should upload a chin lock compilation video just to see how many views it gets lol
Sycho Sid will never not look like a pink Supermutant from Fallout with supernoodles on his head to me.
best wrestling channel on youtube
I love this wrestling channel for sure I’m a wrestling fan for sure forever
agree
Will we get a Davey Boy Chinlock or Savio Vega nerve hold compilation video?
Yes please!
And 50:35 YES!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! BEST. QUOTE. EVER!!
An interesting feud that proved to the WWF that times were changing and everybody became tired of white meat babyfaces. It was partially the start of the interperiod between the New Generation and Attitude Eras.
@@michaelsinger4638 Vince simping for Shawn Micheals during late 1995 to early 1997 was painful to watch after watching a few clips lol
I always hated the fact that Shawn won against Sid at the end of it, while his hometown cheered him it was obvious that the fans in general didn’t like Shawn
Sid getting cheers sort of reminds me of how the audience came around to Brock Lesnar.
23:05 “Vince wants to know how Jose is feeling, and Jose says he’s felt rough but hitting the pipe earlier with HBK has made him feel 10X better!” 🤣🤣🤣😂😂
Hose A and Hose B are a tag team on Smackdown now.
This is what's great about this channel, you've built up such a quality back catalogue that this doesn't feel like "repeats", it feels like a great opportunity to go back and review all the quality content you've already delivered.
By the way, a video on Paul Roma and Jim Powers as a team and in their solo/other runs would be awesome.
I've always been a Sid Vicious..Psycho Sid...whatever you wanna call him fan. The guy was just a mountain. Not to mention he is the poster boy for the whole "high risk" off the ropes motto
Love how the content goes behind the feuds and the matches , gives a great view of the era and the little intricacies and backstage politics off the matches in and out of the ring
I love your videos.. very well done. I have also ALWAYS loved big Sid.
Use to love sid in wcw worldwide think it was on itv
The old NWA used to be shown late on ITV in the late 80`s.
@@markant9534 thanks mark
Sid should have been the good guy and HBK should’ve been the back guy in the storyline.
Huh,🤔
Thinking about it now, i would definitely enjoy some more stuff like this covering specific angles and feuds from start to finish. i know there's Plenty of work that goes into making something like this and the plate is already full with the usual content that gets made every week, but this and stuff like that video covering Cactus Jack in WCW when he was feuding with Vader and they did those crazy "on the streets interviews" looking for Cactus Jack was really enjoyable.
Maybe do a collection or series of videos like that one covering stuff that happened before or after the Monday Night Wars?
Either way this was cool and Literally Anything you put on this channel is Amazing. Genuinely hoping everything is going smooth with the move.
😄👍
I absolutely love the complete collection vids that cover everything especially the little bits that may have gotten overlooked. The Sycho Sid Shawn Michaels rivalry was a lot of fun, HBK always knew how to get great matches out of bigger guys and sell the hell out of their moves by constantly bumping around for them. I recently rewatched the Survivor Series 96 and Sycho Sid was over like gangbusters, he had a lot of fans in MSG while HBK got completely booed out of the building even though he was the babyface world champion, it was a great match and i still remember the fans popped hard when Sid hit him with the camera, hit the powerbomb and pinned him to win the world title. Absolutely loved that match and their rivalry.
All because Shawn wanted his win back, quite happy to take the wins back but never likes returning the losses,...just loses his smiles at convenient moments, sheesh 🙄😴
Damn I never realized how tired HBK looked at Survivor Series
Came for the Sid - HBK feud, stayed for the chinlocks!
Even with the moving and whatever else he has going on he is still bringing us some totally awesome content! Man long this channel!!!!!
Great video. Here’s one video idea I believe would be good is the austin vs mcmahon rivalry.
I don't think Vince can handle that role.
*Kick or be kickin' brother!!!*
It's kick or be kickin' once more, dear friends.
This was a pretty exciting time as far as the WWF main event scene goes.
We had Shawn, Sid, Bret, Austin, Vader and Undertaker all pushing to be the top guy.
When HBK made his royal rumble 96 return I became a huge life long hbk fan. I know ratings were down but I loved his 96 title run
You should do a Davey Boy Smith Chinlock compilation video
I look forward to these like I used to look forward to Raw back in the day. Thanks for this👍👍
I loved Sid through his career I loved him promos and his theme music was great during his psycho run
Some of the botches Sid would make in his promos were funny and he was fun to watch in the ring. When Sid broke his leg that was probably one of the most brutal injuries I've seen happen. Shawn's selling is just as legendary as his skill to put on a good match, his ability to sell doesn't get enough credit. You did bring up a good point about the pure white baby faces, the baby faces that had shades of grey were always my favorite types. What exactly caused that type of shift in taste among fans is something I've wondered about for a while.
Someone inform William regal there's another real man's man around the WWF/E! LoL 😂😂😂
these were some of my favorite segments from your show, awesome!
I was there at the 96 survivor series we Booked Shawn out of the building and had a good time doing it
They are cheering sid though he is heel he was a tweener
Survivor Series 96 was absolutely epic. Vicious/Michael's in the main event told an excellent story of pure baby face vs evil with all the drama you could want. Vicious was all in here.
Still cant believe Sid, of all people, bailed out the Shock Master promo, (or at least tried to).
I'm sorry that push to Shawn Michael's head was hilarious lol
comment for algorithm
Love these vids, I was a huge Michaels' fan during his hey day in the mid to late 90s. You know I just noticed something the finish of Survivor Series 1996 was not unlike the finish between Clubber Lang and Rocky, their first fight, with the whole "checking on the manager" and then losing the fight.
Ah, finally Kick or be kicken the musical.
This channel is gold! Your content is amazing!
This feud Is underrated
~~ Shawn Michaels ~~
A Ladies Man
A Mans Man
A Real Mans Man
Shawn:(throws microphone to Sid)
Sid: “My Man!”
🤣🤣🤣💀
Underrated comment😂😂
That's one thing people can say about HBK, most people don't wanna work while "Flying High" but HBK did work and was still one of the best
I've said it before but I love your remixes of the theme music, here having Sid's and HBK's combined worked well
I think this is your best compilation from the Reliving the War series that you've done so far! I hope the move is going well, you've been in my thoughts, my friend.
Never did I think I would see the day someone used a clip from '"HAGGARD" to embellish a point. 😄
Sid is the only guy to beat both Bret Hart and HBK in less than 30 days clean
Good recap of this feud. I was in the second grade in 96-97. I have fond memories of those time.
Honestly this was my least favorite time period in WWF history
50:41 Ik sid can be cringe on the mic sometimes, but I always liked Sid tbh. And for a big guy, I always liked his matches tbh. Plus I like how little he actually gives af and doesn’t make this his whole personality like Bret.
Greetings from Belfast
Sycho Sid Vs Shawn Michaels Was such a great Feud Sycho Sid Vs Shawn Michaels @ Survivor Series 1996 is My Favorite Match During that Feud because of the Crowd.
I wonder if you could make a video about the Legend of Fan-dan-Go!
HBK is the greatest wrestler I ever seen.
Nice hope the move goes well bios man
🤘😜🤘
Sid's music was terrifying...
Scooby Snacks.😂😂😂
When the fueds finished, an Austin and Bret reliving the war compilation would rock
The fanny pack of fun vs The ruler of the universe
Davey Boy had one of the best vertical suplexes I've ever seen. And his son's was pretty good, too.
when he did it Vader I was beyond impressed
And I like how Dynamite Kid had the best ever snap suplex -- between them they had suplexes covered.
🤘🤘
The start...ALMOST had me going like it was OMD song for a sec there...ALMOST had me...
I feel sorry for all the wrestlers who had to share a locker room with HBK during this time
He kept the WWF alive during the 83 week WCW run, basically by himself. He was the fkin man. Everyone who calls him a d i c k should take a look at themselves. Wtf have you done in life hahaha.
I know its a tall order, and you have yourself crazy busy with everything you do on the channel.
I would LOVE to see that year of PPVs you did for 1997 for other years. I could spend the day watching you narrate 1992 from the RR all the way to the SS!
I just remembered that when I was 11 years old, the WWF did a promotional commercial of a choir singing "Sycho Sid is Coming To Town" to the tune of Santa Claus is coming to Town. Sid was so over back then!
Yoho.. go to 48:15. Look at that suckered punch from Vader. That looked legit af. 👌 even Cid stepped back and put his hands up. 😆
I had the Shawn Michaels Signature Series Wwe Championship replica. But unfortunately I had to sell it. I told the guy who bought it that I'm selling it to him but I lost my smile because of it. He laughed and told me that was worth $50 on top of my asking price
i feel like Sid is always overlooked when people mention the greats. For a moment , Sid was on top of the WWF during the Bret Hart, HBK, Taker era. I was a huge Sid fan back then, i loved his choke slam and powerbomb and he just looked like a beast.
I found out from a really good source where HBK's smile was at I was told by one of my best informants that Shawn (HBK) had left his smile and I quote "Shawn had left his smile in a very ,very Sunny place till he is ready to get ot back" and I really believe it
It was like a re-election gift for Clinton to have an Arkansas native feud with a guy using the name Heartbreak Kid. Having an Arkansas native who is a very outspoken Elvis fan as President of the United States had some benefits even for the World Wrestling Federation.
bulldog and Owen where so good at selling and making everyone look so good that stepped in the ring with them
Remembering when Sid Vicious came to Springfield, Ma. The size of Sid Vicious you see on-screen is nothing compared to the size of seeing him live. And The Big Show is larger .
Can you do more rivalry videos like savage vs hogan flair vs steamboat etc rock vs Austin
At Royal rumble 1997 before Shawn grabs the video camera watch closely and you can see Shawn telling Sid to go to Jose. It might have been edited out for the wwe network or the Royal rumble anthology box set. But it can be seen on the original vhs release
Shawn kept the WWF alive during the 83 week WCW run, basically by himself. He was the fkin man. Everyone who calls him a d i c k should take a look at themselves. Wtf have we all done in life hahaha. F all.
I don't blame you, I knew what I clicked on, but these constellations really don't help with the feeling I always get one of mine LSD that I've already experienced this before
Everyone knows where HBK's smile was...Under Sunni's bed LOL
Sid is the ruler of my world. He was never even a heel really, the crowd always loved him. He's also one of the most athletic wrestlers there was back then especially at 6 feet 13 inches tall 😂
Yes!!! The Sid Theme remix is back!!!
Loved their feuds as a kid
Owen and Bulldog softened up Sid's leg for that eventual injury a few years later.
That would have been funny to see Bret Hart return the favor from the previous month and get involved costing Shawn the championship
