Hmm. Let me try to explain this sysinctly. As you wind, the automat versions should stop at each frame number. You want to get it to number 1 before you load film. When the winder stops, you will need to tick the little button under the winder to release it to the next number. On mine, number 1 allows me to wind indefinitely, but each of the other numbers (2-12) stop when you get to them. So just keep going around the circle until it lets you just wind at number 1. Then load the film and wind until you see the 1 in the frame window on the back. Then take the photo, click the release under the winder and go on to 2. I hope that makes sense.

Yes. There are no clicks or exact settings. You can put them exactly on your desired speed or aperture.
